So one of the constant updates that people ask me for is on former daytime talk show host Wendy
Williams. Recently, we did a couple of different throwback interviews that she's done with Mariah
Carey and Whitney Houston, celebrating some of the most iconic moments of Wendy Williams.
But as you know, Wendy Williams has been under the care of a guardian that is not her family,
and it has been a bone of contention both with her family and Wendy Williams' fans.
Well now, according to The Sun in some new court documents, according to Sabrina Morrissey,
Wendy Williams is permanently incapacitated due to her dementia diagnosis.
So let me give you the full update in regards to what they're reporting. They said,
Wendy Williams is permanently incapacitated by her tragic dementia battle her guardian
claimed in court. The U.S. Sun can exclusively reveal that the stunning court admission
by attorneys for Wendy Williams' guardian, Sabrina Morrissey,
which was entered into the record as she battles with a lifetime, over the documentary,
Where is Wendy Williams? So as you know, there's this whole legal battle over Wendy Williams
signing off being a part of this documentary. It also made Sabrina Morrissey look very bad.
In the filing, Sabrina's legal team calls Wendy, 60, an acclaimed entertainer who tragically has
been afflicted by early onset dementia and as a result has become cognitively impaired
and permanently incapacitated. The admittance of the extent of Wendy's illness is a crushing blow
to her loyal fan base, many who have held out hope that one day she would make a triumphant
return. The filing further states, in January of 2022, after becoming aware of the pattern
of disturbing events concerning Wendy's welfare and finances, Wells Fargo took the highly unusual
step of initiating a guardianship proceeding on its own initiative in the Supreme Court of New
York County, the guardianship proceeding, to seek the court's appointment of an independent
guardian for Wendy's financial affairs. In the document, the guardian's legal team pleads to
the court for certain portions of the case about Wendy's health, familial relationships, and
finances to be redacted to protect her privacy. They say, we respectfully request that the court
grant plaintiff's motion for a limited redaction to protect non-public information from the
guardianship proceeding that has been placed under seal by the court overseeing that proceeding.
So, back in February, Wendy's Guardian tried to stop Lifetime from releasing its documentary
with the iconic TV show host with a restraining order. The request was quickly overturned by an
appellate judge who found stopping Lifetime from airing the documentary would be, quote,
impermissible prior restraint on speech that violates the First Amendment of the Constitution.
I mean, just kind of giving my own opinion on it, I'm not saying that this is fact,
it's almost as if the court said, well, we're not going to stop if Wendy signed off on this
and she is making maybe some claims against you, Sabrina Morrissey, that would sort of be violating
her constitutional right to speak out. Wendy's Guardian filed a lawsuit against Lifetime and
the production companies involved in it on February 20th, that's almost a year ago,
just days before the documentary was released. But according to a filing,
the Guardian never served the original complaint. She filed an amended complaint
on September 16th of 2024, which was served to all defendants, including A&E Television Networks,
Entertainment One, Reality Productions, Lifetime Entertainment Services, Creature Films,
and director Mark Ford. The suit was then moved to federal court from New York Supreme Court in
October. Since then, the defendants have filed counter suits against Wendy's Guardian.
So as you know, as the US Sun previously reported, Wendy was diagnosed with alcohol-related brain
damage before she was placed in a guardianship in 2022. In 2019, Wendy was given the devastating
alcohol-related brain damage diagnosis during a rehab stay in Delray Beach, Florida, sources claim.
They continue, while in Florida, a brain scan was done as a part of Wendy's rehab stay,
a neurologist sat down with the star, her son, Kevin Hunter Jr., who's 23, and her then-husband,
Kevin Hunter Sr., 51. Didn't know that he was there for that. They weren't together at the time.
The doctors explained to them that Wendy was suffering from alcohol-related brain damage.
They told her that her alcohol abuse had done permanent damage to the layers in her brain,
a source said. After the US Sun reached out to Wendy's Guardian for a response to the claims,
they publicly announced that the star had been diagnosed with frontal temporal dementia and
aphasia, something similar to what Bruce Willis is going through. And I know what you're probably
thinking, so why isn't Bruce Willis in the same predicament? Well, Bruce Willis has a lot of
support, support that he can trust around him, including his family. As Wendy fans are aware,
in the past, she has been open with the public about her medical struggles with Graves' disease
and lymphedemia, as well as other significant challenges related to her health. The decision
to share this news was difficult and made after careful consideration not only to advocate for
understanding and compassion for Wendy, but to raise awareness about aphasia and frontal
temporal dementia and support the thousands of others facing similar circumstances.
Receiving a diagnosis has enabled Wendy to receive the medical care she requires.
So a lot of you have been asking me, Kempire, do you think that at some point,
Wendy will release a podcast or will return to daytime talk? But after the information came out,
right before the documentary that Wendy was diagnosed with this type of dementia, I said,
if this is true, because at the time this was being released on her behalf through
Sabrina Morrissey, her guardian, that subsequently based off this documentary, we found out that
Wendy's sister Wanda, who was more than willing to be the guardian, was basically shoved to the
side. And this person that is not related to Wendy in any shape or form took over.
Then we went down a whole rabbit hole of finding that Sabrina Morrissey has been accused
of pursuing a guardianship for other people that weren't warranted.
So this has raised constant concerns for Wendy. We heard that there was supposed to be a review
of Sabrina Morrissey and the whole guardianship. I haven't heard any update on that. What I did
hear an update from sources close to the family of Wendy Williams is that they are in contact
with her. As you may recall, during the documentary promo, her niece said that they
don't know where she's located. They have to wait for Wendy to call them in order to be in
communication. From what I've heard, they are now in more constant communication with Wendy.
As you also saw, Wendy was recently in New Jersey at Dr. Sebi's son's holistic store,
along with her son, Kevin Jr. But this is the latest update that we've gotten in regards to
Wendy's condition. It didn't seem promising. I know they're trying to do their best to make
Wendy comfortable. But Wendy returning in any shape or form to entertainment, I just didn't
see possible with that diagnosis, the same diagnosis that Bruce Willis has, who, when he
was diagnosed with that, basically said, yeah, I'm done with my acting career. But without a doubt,
Wendy Williams will remain the queen of all media. And we see they're uploading old clips
of her daytime talk show. There are old interviews that she's done over the years. So she's done what
she needed to do in regards to her work. Her legacy will continue to live on. I just hope
that she's able to remain connected with her family and that no one is just using her at this
particular point in her life. Guys, as always, I want to know your reaction to the news that,
according to these court documents, according to Sabrina Morrissey, Wendy Williams' guardian,
she is permanently incapacitated due to her dementia diagnosis. As always, be sure to like
