139 MPH PIT MANEUVER on Dodge Challenger by Arkansas State Police (140+ MPH #pursuit) Sgt. Monroe

Report:

On Wednesday, November 27th at approximately 11:32 P.M. the Grant County Sheriff requested assistance with a vehicle
pursuit. The suspect vehicle was a dark colored Challenger traveling northbound on I-530.

I observed a gray Dodge Challenger with black stripes traveling north on I-530 approaching I-30 east. I began pursuing the
suspect vehicle. The driver made several improper lane changes at a very high rate of speed. I positioned my patrol car near
the suspect's car and performed a Tactical Vehicle Intervention. The vehicle came to a stop on the left side of I-30 against the
concrete barrier facing the opposite direction. The driver opened the driver door before the vehicle had come to a stop. I saw
the suspect run away from the vehicle. He was wearing a white shirt with green sleeves and jeans. He jumped over the
guardrail and continued running toward 13th Street and Locust Street.
The vehicle was towed by A.C. Lewis. The owner of the vehicle was the passenger and would not provide accurate information
to help with the arrest of the driver of the vehicle.
