We Have a New Baby Alpaca on the Farm!

We just made it to our Lambert farm. We have some exciting news. There's a new baby in the family. A new baby alpaca. One of our alpacas, who we didn't even realize was pregnant because it's kind of hard to tell. All of a sudden we wake up and there's a new baby. She's beautiful. It's a girl. We're so excited to show you. Story's obsessed. You want to go see her? Let's go see her. First of all, she likes to stop here really quick. Do you want to go on your, here, you want to go on your tractor? Take a ride over there? Perfect. Let's go see her. These are all of our alpacas. If you've never met them before, we have my favorite here, Summer. She's so cute. We have Ozzie. We have Chia. And then Chia's baby is a boy, Willie. And then Emmy is the new mom. And her baby, we've decided to name her after one of my favorite Taylor Swift songs, Betty. So Bella's the official baby wrangler. And let's see it, cowgirl. Let's see you get this baby. With those boots on, you better get her good. Hi, Story. This is Betty, everybody. Betty. It's our baby. So soft. Hi, Betty. So soft. Betty's nice. You want to pet the baby? Dog, dog. No, it's an alpaca, not a dog, dog. So Betty is a week old. She's so stinking cute. Oh, don't pull the hair. Don't pull the hair. You gotta be soft. Wait, let me show you. She's nursing. Aw. That's so cool. ♪ I can feel out of the building now ♪ ♪ I will stay, I will stay where you need me ♪ ♪ It shouldn't change, but I won't change ♪ ♪ I won't change till you tell me ♪ So these are our chickens. We have a lot of chickens. I feel like we just keep hatching chickens. So how many, wait, how many new baby chicks are there? Six. Okay, we have six new baby chicks that just hatched, which is so cool. They're in there now. They're getting bigger and bigger every day. And the greatest thing about having chickens is we get farm fresh eggs every day. So Story starts her day, literally every day, since she was six or seven months old, eating three farm fresh eggs, which I think is amazing. Ow, ow. You're too tall for this. This thing is not, oh, whoa, whoa. Oh, you got it. I got him. I don't know how to let him out. Let's go let him out. Whoa. Oh no. Rule number one on a farm, never leave a door or gate open. That's what we did. Shoot, go babe. Go get them before they get out. It's okay if they get out. Don't let them get out. I'll get them back in. But if I go that way, they're out. Oh no. Dylan. This is all turning to a disaster. We have a chicken fight. Chicken fight. Ah, babe, babe, stop him. Stop him. Babe, stop. Stop it. Babe. This is gonna be a really shaky video. Why am I scared? Wait. All our chickens escaped. We've had two roosters that were born from the last eggs. So we got to separate those two somehow. Wow. They're not getting along. We left the gate open. That was our bad. That was our bad, honestly. All right, go, go, go, hens. This way. Me and Story are just sitting in here like, all right, dad, we'll take care of it. What is dad doing up there? Oh man. And we have had a chicken fight. Oh, they're back at it. Talon. All right, I got about three. It's my trusty stick. Go. Go home. Okay, get this one. Get this one. He's so cute. Okay, we gotta get him. Oh, he juked you. Come on, babe, come on. Babe. All right, how many more left? Two more. This is my little chicken. Come back to mama. I'm gonna go get my girl Summer on her little harness, so I can pull her around, you guys can see how cute she is. I thought you were a professional. This is a farm day gone wrong. You want me to go in there and help you? No, no, no. Bella called in backup. Come on, Summer. You know the drill. Perfect. Bella, you have to be on that side. Hey, come this way, mama. Go this way. All right, to the corner. To the corner. Go, arms out. Down, arms out. My arms are out. There you go. Babe. It's okay. Summer was a runner today. Hey, Summer girl. Hi. We're gonna go for a little walk. Stretch the legs out. Summer was one of the first alpacas that we got. Our original were Summer and Emmy, the one that just had a baby. And Summer was originally gonna be a therapy animal. And so I feel like she's perfect for our family because she's super calm and sweet. I just have to say this. I didn't realize this about alpacas, but you have to see their feet. They look like little yetis. Look at their feet. Those are some nice dogs, Summer. Don't let the dogs out. Go story. You driving your tractor? It'll be cute when she's big enough to do the pedals and like actually go around here, you know? ♪ Love, love, love, love, love. ♪ ♪ Open up my heart and you'll find love. ♪ Bella and Story just went home, but I'm doing irrigation right now on the property. Pretty much what that is, it just floods the whole property for all the trees. It's kinda the only way to keep things alive. But I wanna show you guys how cool it is. The alpacas love the water. They go and lay in it. So we pretty much like flat out there penned and look how cute this is.
