MY CANCER STORY // Boston Marathon in the Smoky Mountains #RVLife
To celebrate Daniel's 20th-year cancer-free, he decided he would run multiple marathons across the globe to raise awareness and funds to support cancer research.
But, when COVID hit the scene, almost every race was canceled and went virtual. Daniel didn't lose heart. Instead, he signed up for a few extra marathons and decided to take them all on.
When he found out that the 2020 Great Smoky Mountains Half Marathon race held by Vacation Races in Townsend, TN was still on, we decided it didn't matter how long we were going to have to road trip with the Airstream, we were going to make it there so Daniel could run the course with other likeminded individuals. Of course, the only problem was that he had to run it twice. 🤣
Inspired by his tenacity, I (Lauren) decided I would rent a bike and ride the marathon with him to carry water and supplies, which naturally meant it only made sense to film it.

Hello, friends! We're Lauren and Daniel. For nearly a decade, we chased the American dream of owning our own business. We built a successful communications agency and had "it all" but were tired, overworked, and unfulfilled.
After watching a documentary on minimalism in January 2019, we sold everything, except our company, and took off to travel the world!
But after a year and a half of travel, we got stuck in Morocco and had to take a US rescue flight home during COVID-19. So, needless to say, we’re pretty excited to stay on American soil for a while.
We've always been passionate about exploring local while we travel, but small businesses need all of us to shop locally now more than ever, and we want to inspire people to do just that.
We're on a mission to visit all 50 states in 365 days while shopping 100% American made, all in an Airstream.
