I've seen this little truck in North Italia. Actually this is our truck. This is very realistic.
It's true. But today we're gonna try North Italian food. I'm from North so let's see if it's real or
not. Let's see. Does it feel like home? Does it feel like you're in North Italia? You know it's modern
like kind of Milan. It does feel like it could be Milan. Like a good Italian Alessio already
looked at the menu and he's already prepared what he's gonna order. I see already a lot of things
North Italian but let's go a little bit a little bit okay. Step by step. Okay we switched sides
because Alessio needed good lighting. I need a good lighting yeah so I can show you what we're
gonna eat today. We have to represent well. Yeah. Actually this is a really nice background for you
Yeah I really do like we could be in Milan right now. I feel the Milan vibe. Yeah so so far so good.
Let's see if it's good like Milan. So we start with a Prosecco aperitivo. Prosecco actually is from
North Italy. So it is North Italian. Yes but a lot of people may not know that's where Prosecco
comes from. Actually Prosecco is from Friuli, my region. Okay but it is Valdobbiadene in Veneto.
But they take the name Prosecco so it is Prosecco but the actual grape is Galera.
This is from Treviso. Oh okay. So from Veneto. It looks beautiful. Yeah let's try it.
Actually it's not bad for half a sparkling wine. This I approve. So this is Vino dei Poeti
and you confirm me. I love it. Yeah it's really delicate. Yeah. For now it's good right?
Okay we had a glass of Prosecco. Don't get too excited. Here we have the bruschetta. Prosciutto.
So prosciutto cotto. There are two. Looks like crudo though. Sorry. You see prosciutto crudo.
There are two. One is in Friuli and one is in Parma. Then asparagus is all over Italy and
stracciatella is actually a Tuscan guy. He made it when he was in Bergamo. So
normal stracciatella. Stracciatella di bufala is in Puglia. So let's try. See especially I'm
curious to eat the prosciutto. So I'm gonna like this with the real prosciutto. Silence.
I cannot taste really well the prosciutto because they put a lot of things on top. I
don't agree what what they put. I think they put tartufo. Oh truffle oil probably. They cover up.
Let me have a full experience. Overall it's not bad. Stracciatella is good. I think
it's a good antipasto. Okay. So I give her mangiabile. This is a six and a half.
Nice. Prosciutto is not my favorite. But you eat the real prosciutto. Yes.
I actually like the combination. It's a good combination. Yeah it kind of gives me
spring vibes. Do you think the prosciutto it is from Italy? I can't say. It's not what we had.
But the combination is good. I've had worse for sure. Yeah. I like the combination of the
flavors. I do taste like a tartufo something going on which I think is too much. I could
have taken that off. But the combination makes me think of spring. Asparagus, stracciatella,
prosciutto together. I like the combination. I just want to say one more thing about the
stracciatella. I think the stracciatella is really good. It tastes like the stracciatella I've had in
Italy. So that I approve. They start really good. In the bruschetta, the only bruschetta that looks
like from North Italy because the ingredients stracciatella was tartufo that you find in North
Italy. Okay. Grano padano that is from North Italy. It's different from parmigiano reggiano.
Okay. It's different milk and then have less fat. Overall I think it was a good choice. The other
choices was not North Italy at all. So we tried to take the North Italian.
We have our margherita. Yes we have margherita. So margherita our pizza is not from North Italy.
It is from South Italy. But because we were here we decided to go for it to take a pizza for see
how good is pizza here because probably people are gonna ask us how is the pizza. Right. Oh
one thing in America they're doing they're really cutting the pizza. I was thinking oh they are
actually North Italian. At first I thought it wasn't cut but it is cut. Yeah it is cut. So
in North Italy but it's not just North Italy even in the south so don't lie to me.
We're eating with knife and fork the pizza. Why are we eating like that? Because usually we're
eating like this for trying to go slow and for metabolism. Digestion. And then one pizza I can
but I eat with my fingers too. But the problem is when I eat with my fingers I eat in two seconds
and I'm more hungry. Like this I try to slow down my hungriness. So. That's good. How looks?
Dana looks. It looks intriguing. It's intriguing. You think they put butter? What is this? I think
it's like maybe oil. Olive oil. For the people. Oh the bottom looks nice. This is how cook.
I don't like the cheese but the pizza is not bad. Like I don't like the cheese. The cheese
it is a little bit chewy but. How's the flavor of the farina? Too much oil. I don't agree to
put this oil. In all Italy we don't do that. I give a five. I want to see your opinion.
I agree with you. There's some kind of flavor of cheese here that I don't think is going.
I don't know if this is mozzarella. Oh. Supposed to be margherita but tastes like something else.
Tastes something else right? Yeah but I actually like the crust. It is a five because it is
potentially I think the ingredients are wrong. And then how they prepare with this oil the thing
you know. But not bad. Not bad. Yeah mangiabile. Amore do you have any advice for people who go to
Italian restaurants and they don't know what to order? How they can find the best things to order
on the menu? The most you know authentic things. My best advice it is you screw. You're never gonna
you're never gonna know because in this menu, ragazzi, in this menu was a lot of things gonna
I did not see fettuccine alfredo on the menu. No it was fettuccine alfredo. So they claim pasta
fresca. So fresh homemade. Okay. I want to see this pasta. Pasta is coming right now right?
Oh no. How I need to start guys. What did you do? You see this? This is not pasta. It's chicken.
So I won't apologize with all Liguria. In Italy we don't put chicken, pesto, pasta.
Okay? It's totally wrong. What about all the people here in the U.S. that say oh add chicken
to your pasta for the extra protein? You are crazy. In Italy they have their pasta first and
then they have their protein meat in the second course. Yeah because you don't mix this stuff.
Because they need to taste different. This is a mess. This is a big mess. This is what America
wrong. It's pasta fresca. I don't believe it. It's pasta fresca. Shapes are too perfect. The shapes
is too perfect. Exactly. My amor is Italian. You know that pasta fresca is never perfect. Yeah. It's
totally not good. Manufactured. Manufactured. So let's try it and see if the pesto is good.
The flavors are terrible. I confirm.
The worst pasta I've ever eaten in my life. I'm sorry.
The famous capers in the pesto.
This is a product from North Italy. This one is not approved. This is a zero of the ten.
This is non-edible. If you like this, if you've never been here and you love it, you don't have
I'm sorry for you. A brutal review from Alessio. I'm really brutal. I need to be brutal because this
is offending so many Ligurians. So if I'm not Italian, I pretend. Oh I know make a cheeseburger.
You come in Italy and they're gonna make you a cheeseburger instead to use a meat. I'm gonna use.
You're getting so Italian that even your pronunciation of cheeseburger is going back
to how it was when I met you. I use capers. I use capers for you to do your cheeseburger. I'm gonna
call it American cheeseburger. The best you can find and put just capers. A little bit of ketchup
and mayonnaise. Doesn't bother me.
Well let's see if bothering you this. So before I met you, absolutely this would not have bothered
me at all. So I'm interested to see if my Italian tastes now have fully come in.
Ah the silence for trying to find nice words but it's disgusting. No don't tell. No okay if you like
it, you like it. I don't care. No no no but I can see why people here like it because for them they don't
know the flavors and how they're different. Yeah. I think that's the the main issue here. I have to say
I've never had Ligurian pesto so I don't know what the real. Oh my god. Ligurian pesto tastes like
but for me the pesto here is not terrible. Okay. For me. Opinions. Yeah. Just the flavor of the pesto but everything
else is. No. Don't go together. What is this Simone? So this is pasta Bolognese. Okay. So from Bologna.
Ragu Bolognese is totally a specific thing. Then if you're going to other places like ragu
Toscano. They have different ingredients. So if I look in this, I'm judging in base how it should be
in Bologna. And if Bologna they see a piece of meat big like this. This is not
Let me see. Maybe they.
Little color on the plate.
This actually looks like it could be pasta fresca.
Could be. A little bit. Okay.
I see a smile. Could be an evil smile. Disgusting.
We started so well. A bruschetta. Anybody can do a bruschetta. I don't know.
Have you tried Olive Garden's bruschetta? It's not good because you can go wrong with the bruschetta
if you buy from Italy. And bruschetta. So what's wrong with it? Everything.
It's a spezzatino. No. The meat is disgusting. Let me try. We all know I'm more forgiving than
Eat the meat. I got a nice big chunk. Okay. Go ahead.
Good? You like the meat? No. You like the ragu? Ragu is Bolognese. I know what the problem is.
It's a mix of sausage and beef. It's sausage? And it's the American sausage. With fennel.
Try just a piece of the meat. I can taste it very strongly. It is the fennel. Typical fennel
in the Bolognese. Yeah yeah there's fennel for sure. How is that actually noodle? The
noodle? I don't hate it actually. Cooked perfectly? No. But I think the noodles might be
Maybe. Maybe. I can't tell. Yeah. But it's kind of overcooked. Yeah. Maybe they are. But the ragu
it is. To be honest. Mamma mia. To be honest I prefer the chicken pesto. This is the level.
Speciality from the house. Let's leave alone if it's Italian or not. But is mangiabile or non
in my opinion. Right. In my opinion it's not mangiabile. I agree. It doesn't even matter
that this isn't authentic. It's just the quality of the taste and the food is not there. No
mangiabile. It is so overpowered. Is it spicy? It is spicy. Super spicy. Like it's eating like
something else. It's like adding Mexican food in a bode pasta. Italian pasta. It's not. It's
that is the comparison. So that's why you see me at this big reaction. Because if it was a ragu.
My own ragu. I would say mangiabile is not Italian. Okay you're sick. Let's move on. The lasagna we
had at Carabas was better than this. The lasagna at Carabas is better. Regazzi Carabas is better.
Listen. This is a big statement. Carabas is better. Looks beautiful on the plate. So this
is a chicken with polenta. Rucola. Polenta. Okay chicken is all over Italy. I would buy this
for the polenta. I want to see. This is not the polenta that you would get in Northern Italy.
In Northern Italy they call us polentoni. The south people call us polentoni because we eat
just polenta. But first let's go with the chicken. Okay usually America never wrong chicken.
This is Tuscan chicken.
And then Tuscany is not even North Italian. So Tuscany is center Italy. North Italy is still
into Emilia-Romagna. Then Tuscany to Rome is center. Then it's south and then it's the Sicily
island. Yeah their own place. So let's try.
The Tuscan chicken is pretty good. Yeah you like it. It's not bad.
It's not my favorite but I need to say it's not bad. Let's go to the polenta. Looks polenta?
No it's like grits. It does look like grits.
It's not even grits. Is it cheesy? It's cheese. Okay this is cheese. This is not polenta.
This is insulting for North Italy. This is not polenta.
I will insert a picture of polenta here. This is this is terrible. This is worse than what we eat
for now. The polenta. I was so excited for the polenta. This is the worst thing I've ever eaten.
We are crashing and burning here. In mangiabile. Guys how can you mess up polenta? Polenta is the
best thing ever. It's like a basic thing. This I'm really offended. You can wrong the chicken,
the pesto, you can wrong this, you can wrong everything but you cannot wrong the polenta.
If you're called North Italian. If you call this North Italy the polenta need to be polenta. It's
the easiest thing to make. Farina and water. If you buy the polenta in five minutes in grocery
store it's terrible but it's still more good. Instant polenta. Instant polenta is better than
try the polenta. So it definitely for me it leans more towards grits.
It's not polenta at all. No but even grits. No it's not even really grits either but it's more
towards grits than it is polenta. I have to say like I don't hate the flavor if I'm just like
removing what it is and I'm just eating it with my chicken as like a little
dipping thing. It's kind of cheesy, creamy. I don't hate it but it's not polenta.
Felicia is gonna leave me. I said it's not polenta.
Tiramisu it is from North Italy. It's a big battle from Friuli and Veneto who make first.
Okay right now is certificate Friuli Vanessa and Giulia. I'm from Friuli and I stand it but
I understand the Veneto pissed because actually in Treviso they make
tiramisu there. But one thing we can agree through Lani and Veneti it is this little balls in the
in the tiramisu that they don't go at all. But hey maybe it's a surprise. Maybe we're wrong.
Maybe we're fighting for something in America they did better.
Wait a second. I need to eat it without balls because the balls broken me. The balls are not.
The balls broken the balls. That balls are not refreshing. Inside too.
Okay for me it's not a consideration tiramisu. It's um four point and a half.
I choose that because it's not terrible but it's not tiramisu. The balls make this go even lower.
You cannot even taste the coffee. It's a little bit the coffee right there. Film it because it's
the only one you can see it. In all this video that is the most coffee that you can find.
No it's terrible. I regret to give four. More I go in and more I don't understand what is it.
Notice how when Alessio eats something decent he's happy. If he eats something bad his energy
and his mood just is sucked out. He can't even fake to be happy. The worst to be Italian is that.
The little balls you shouldn't have a big crunchiness.
No. It's just not. It's not working. It's not working. It's not working.
Started off so strong and then we fell so low. In my opinion ragazzi north italia is not approved.
Like you can find some items good but it's not from north it is. Go somewhere else in my opinion.
Go eat your cheeseburger. Don't come here.
Oh before leaving check out these videos and see if you like Italian food.
