Just a very quick and straight forware demo on how to livestream.
#LiveStream #Tech
Hi everyone, this is just going to be a quick tutorial of how to live stream
on Ganjing World using any computer. This will work for a Mac, this will work for
a Windows computer, and if you know how, this will work for a Linux computer.
But we're going to focus on a particular software that couples with live streaming
and any online streaming platform. It'll work with Ganjing World, YouTube, Twitch, any.
It's called OBS. So if you haven't heard of it before, OBS is just exactly as I said,
it's a live streaming and screen recording software. It's free, you can download it,
you don't have to pay anything for it. And to download it, you simply go to this website right
here, OBSproject.com, make sure it's not any other aside from OBSproject.com. And then once
you've downloaded it and you've logged into your Ganjing World account, you're going to go to
Creator Studio. And then from your dashboard, you're going to click on Content. And then from
Content, you're going to go to Live Streams. So the thing here is every account, even if you are
a free account, a non-premium account, you get four hours of live streaming for free each month
that you can do. And that's exactly what I'm going to use. So I'm going to click Add New.
And then from here, we're going to give it a title. We're going to give it a category because
that's required. We're going to give it a language, also required. And the schedule
is already filled in. You can just leave it as is. And if you want to disable comments,
if you want to hold comments, add tags, those are optional. You don't have to do that.
But you do have to give it, unfortunately, you have to give it a thumbnail. So I'm going to
quickly create one. Okay. I just had ChatGPT create me an image and I slid it in there. You
just drag and drop. And then once you have all of that in place, it'll allow you to click Save
Changes. And then it'll just pop up and give you a notice and you just say, okay, I got it.
And then from here, you're going to have to edit that live stream that you've just created that
is up and coming, and you're going to give it stream settings. So here, this part is very,
very important because this and this are going to go into OBS. And I'll show you that now.
So in OBS, so the first thing you want to do is you want to set up your sources. So right here,
see this right here where it says Sources. First, you need a video source, you need an audio source,
and then you can set up your streaming settings. So let's go to Video Source,
and we're going to add macOS Screen Capture because that's what we're doing. We're live
streaming from our screen. And we'll just give it whatever default name it chooses.
And then you choose the settings. It's safe to leave the default settings because you can see
a little preview. That's exactly what we're looking at. And you can hit OK. And now you
want to add an audio source. And for that, I'm going to add my podcasting microphone.
And then from here, Device, I'm going to choose my microphone and click OK. Now we're going to go
back to the Screen Capture, and we're going to mute everything that we don't want sound to come
through. So if you have an auxiliary microphone, make sure that's muted. Desktop audio, make sure
that's muted. If you want anything you play on the screen to have sound over the live stream,
then leave that unmuted. Otherwise, mute it. I'm going to leave it unmuted for now.
But as you can see, the screen got pretty big. So what I'm going to do, see how this is really
zoomed in? So I'm going to start shrinking that down by dragging it with my mouse and moving it
over. And I want to make sure that it's the right size. You want this red area to be exactly the
right size as that black box around it. That way it fills the whole screen. Now, some of you aren't
going to be screencasting. Some of you are going to be using a video camera. So just for this demo,
I will show you how to set up a camera as well. You're going to add another input source, but this
time you're going to choose Video Capture Device. And then you're going to click OK. And then it's
going to ask you which device. And in this case, I'm going to choose my built-in camera. As you can see,
I'm right here. And then you click OK. Now, what I have here is sort of a picture-in-picture. I'm
going to shrink down my camera so you can still see my desktop. And you can see me. Some of you
only want yourself. Make that full screen. And that's what you're going to use for that. But I'm
going to shrink that down all the way. And then from here, you should be ready to go to your
settings. So you're going to go to Settings. And then you're going to go to Stream. And then here,
we have those two settings. So the first thing you're going to need is the Stream Server. That's
going to go up here. As you can see, it's already filled in, but I'm going to show you how to paste
it. And then you're going to need this key. I'm just going to copy that for demo purposes. I can
regenerate another one later. Show the key. Put it in. Paste. And then you're going to click OK.
Now, from here, you're ready to start streaming. So go to Start Streaming, which is right here.
Connecting. And then now, what you're going to see is in a couple seconds, it should show up in
this live stream window right here. There you go. So now everything that we're doing is showing up
in that window about four or five seconds late. That's because it has to stream to Ganjin World
and it has to stream back to my preview window. So it's going to be a little bit late. Don't worry
about that. But from here, what we would do is go live. And I'm going to go live for just a few
seconds. See where it says I'm limited to four hours of live stream per month. That's because
I'm a free user. I'm not a premium user. But I still get that four hours, which I think is a
great deal. And as you can see, I'm live streaming. And at any point, anybody who joins the live
stream can put chats here in this window and talk to me, and I can talk back to them over here on
the side. And when I'm done, I'm going to go ahead and click end stream, which I'll do now.
Now, normally you would have a much longer live stream, but this is just a demonstration.
And that's basically it. When you're done your live stream, be sure to go back to OBS,
stop streaming. And that is how you live stream on Ganjin World. Thanks for watching.
