how many SERIES can i FINISH in 24 HOURS?!📚⏲️

hello my friends if you are a regular here on this channel you'll know that reading series actually finishing series not just reading the first book is a big goal of mine every year every year I have a goal pretty much to have a net negative at the moment in terms of series to try and finish more series than I'm starting and you know what I've been doing pretty okay with it this year but I want to give it one last push because looking at my videos for the rest of the year I don't think I'm really going to be making any series progress so this is our last push-on series and we're going to be seeing how many series I can finish in 24 hours I'm very excited it's going to be a spin on those videos where you read for 24 hours in total so it's not 24hour readathon but we're going to be using a timer and stopping it whenever I'm not reading and trying to read for 24 hours and seeing how many series we finish or make progress in I'm not sure if I actually have enough series to finish in order to read like one book or whatever so I will allow myself to make some progress in series as well cuz that's always good as well so yeah that's the plan for this week I may needan to get it done in a fairly short period of time but I have got like work during the day every day for the next couple days like videos to edit and film so we'll see how long this takes us I'm aing like 5 days it's Monday today it's I was going to say it's evening it's 4:00 it's not but it's pitch black outside get me out of this hell hole anyways get that fire exit door I'm off should we go have a look at my series spreadsheet and decide kind of I'm going to semi mood read but kind of decide a TBR I know that doesn't make sense this is as much mve read as like going a strict series parameter and looking at my series spreadsheet beforehand and seeing what I think I'll be in the mood for this week o key doie quick rundown of the series spreadsheet if you're new here if it is underlined I own it and if it is Bal that's the only book I need to read to finish the series or get caught up on it basically so nine Liars we could get caught up at trly Diva series but I don't own it so I don't think that oh this is tempting this is tempting ery parro I put it in set so far live just so it's easy even though we've got this down here going off page but for the most part I like to keep the series kind of short so hery I put in sets just to make it easy I won't count this series as being finished if I was to read this like I'd just add the next set on straight away but I'm tempted here's the thing I've read Mur on Express obviously I've spoken about it 10,000 times also please ignore whatever the hell my hair is doing today it's stressing me out don't look at it don't look at it don't look at it Gina just because my life is falling apart doesn't mean my hair has to fall apart like yours but I really want to reread it and I'm in the mood for Christy and what if I read three act try as well because I won't have any opinions on this but they're both quick reads like this will probably take me like two hours to read three Trilogy so that could be something we sprinkle in maybe reading both of those that's crazy also I did say I want to finish this Series this year oh God I'm like thinking of reading multiple books in the series this is crazy the sin Clair's Mysteries I'd love to finish that the broken Earth TR by enk jerson I think we should definitely try and finish absolutely absolutely I'm going to read the stone sky in this video we're going to do it we're going to read the stone Sky I should know if I'm quite ready for it yet but I feel like if I don't finish this series now when will I and the obis gate I read this year so it's still fresh in my mind oh a s storms and silence I could finish that series I most thinking series I could finish but maybe we'll put in a few others dark Corners by Megan golden this is one that like is there going to be more in this series I don't know dark Corners came out in I don't even know what year but would that finish series or I feel like she may put a a book out in this series like every four years or so you know but that would at least get us caught up I'd love to make progress in Bear toown okay what feasts at night sworn shoulder by te fish again I don't know if this this is a duology or if there'll be more but we could get that ticked off that would be a good one as well cuz it's short the shadow cabinet actually I should bald because that would get me up to date in the series an imposition of unnecessary obstacles what am I actually in the mood for I don't know guys what am I in the mood for let's finish a series okay let's let's finish finish a series to start off let's not make prog let finished one I don't think I'm in the mood for that yet what feasts at night do you know what I think let's start it off quick and fun with a thriller mystery I'm going to read dark Corners let me go grab it so this came out in July 2023 it is a kind of companion book to the night swim which was super popular and we're following the same podcaster as she goes to a different town and is investigating a case there maybe like I'll check with you once I know the initial plot because I don't know anything about the plot of this I I don't know anything I don't want to read the Snopes so maybe I'll read like the first 80 Pages 70 Pages or so and check need tonight is the a of the game because I'd like to read for a couple hours tonight did I listen to night swim I did listen to the night swim wait no I do think I want the audio book for this cuz is there podcast sections the AUD book of night swim was really good no okay no no no no however I start a series format wise I have to continue okay I've got to try and find the audiobook for this I'm going to do that and if I can get it we'll start it and I'll check with you maybe tonight once I've started it and we know what the synopsis is cuz right now I have no idea a few moments later okay actually we're changing our mind I can't get the audio book for this the audio book only it's not on Audible which is insane for some reason this this this series is really hard to get hold of AUD books even though they're like insane the only place I can find it is my library and it's got a 25 week wait yep yep so do you think I deserve better than that yes so what am I going to read instead let let's read what Feast at night let's read what Feast at Night by deing Fisher it's short it's Snappy it'll get us off to a good start I'm excited we're going to I'm wait let me hold on I'm pretty sure that's on everand but I could be proven wrong no I've got it I've got it I've got it how long is the audio book 3 hours and 58 minutes I'm going to read this in like 2 hours that's going to be a quick start so maybe I'll finish it tonight actually maybe that's the end of the game we can finish a Series tonight who knows I'll probably see you in the morning maybe in that case I'll try and finish it tonight and we'll see you in the morning but yeah okay okay okay sorry dark Corners I really want to read this but I feel like it's a mixed to me dear audio book and I need the audio book to fully appreciate it like I I can't you can't say to me mix me AUD book and I say I will treat it physically that just doesn't I mean capable of that okay let's go see her anyways I I have much to say anyway I finished what Feast at night I've got St my timer hang on I literally just finished it hold on hold on hold on hold on I have read for 3 hours feels like I've read for longer even though this book is not very long g j okay let's talk about this book I finished what Feast at night I'm quite disappointed by this I did not Vibe with this for whatever reason it's the sequel to do not use my legs as scratching pads please I beg you you're so beautiful I let you do anything you want in this world but just don't do that you're ruining all my trousers I finished this it's the SE don't sequel to what moves the dead and um I just didn't Vibe with it I just didn't Vibe with it there was something about the story that just I did not agree age with we're following Alex who is a soldier and in this one they're going back to a house of theirs I believe that they haven't been to in a while you're really intent I'm just going to hold your paws cuz you just can't be trusted to not scratch my holes in my leggings yeah they're going to back to this house and [ __ ] starts going wrong in dreams right what feasts at night there's obviously something feasting at night I just didn't really like this I don't know why well I'm going to give it three stars because there is even part me wants to give it 3.5 because I don't think it's bad but you know when you just can't get into a book you know when you're reading the words and you're like I do not give a [ __ ] and you don't care about the characters and you don't care about the setting and kind of like for the first half of the book I didn't really understand what we were putting down and I think there was a lot of like filler at the start which is crazy considering this book's 140 pages long honestly one of the biggest problems is there's a character called BS in this and I just kept thinking of TS medicine going not the B worms not the B worms every time their name was every time not the B worms not the B worms every time I could not read it without thinking not the borms so that was one of the main issues I it was fine it was fine but this is probably my least favorite te king fisher that I've read it didn't have any of the charm The Joy the I mean this is like you know T fct is horror so it isn't Joy but it didn't have any of the the campness or the any of or fairy T like everything that I love about every other te king fisher book including what M dead there was none of in this zilch zero so I'm going to mark this as a finished series even if there's more books in the series I don't know if I'm going to continue them cuz I just think I prefer every other iteration of teing Fisher I've heard such good things about a sorceress comes to call which came out this year so I just think that's probably what I'm going to reach for if I'm honest with you this was disappointing I also like I it just was no thoughts head empty kind of book you know what I mean I was like I do not give a [ __ ] I do not give a [ __ ] about this book so not off to a good start also I've come to realization 24 hours of reading is a [ __ ] ton it's a [ __ ] ton that's a lot of reading I'm going to have to do a lot of reading it's like having a job working 247 for 2 days on the truck why did I do this to myself anyways I am actually running late to reading sprints on my Patron so I'm going to go start them now and I'm going to let them pick which one we read next I don't I'm going to kind of let them help me decide cuz I'm not feeling there's not a book that I'm like oh I definitely want to read that next you [Music] know okay this lighting is a little bit crazy cuz it's late at night baby well it's 9:00 that's late for me um I found somewhere to listen to the AUD book of dark Corners so we're reading that and I said to you before I check in with you when I'm right at the beginning to just tell you the plot and I am 80 pages in so not read a lot but oh I'm loving this so you could read these out of order you do not have to read night swim before you read this but uh we're following Rachel cral who is basically a famous True Crime podcaster and this is very interesting because there's kind of three mysteries going on the main mystery is she is brought into to talk to a criminal who's only in prison for six years for like I think quite minor he was originally sentenced for two years and he beat a guy up and got another four years so like not like a mass murder or whatever but a influencer like a lifestyle travel camper F nomadic influencer came in to see him and then she went missing days later and there's a video of her vlogging kind of meta uh herself and someone comes in and attacks her but you don't see any of that on camera so she's B to speak to that guy in prison there's also two other subplots going on there's one where we're following this kind of creepy guy and we should not know that he's creepy and a taxi driver and keeps hinting towards doing bad things and then we're listening to her podcast but her podcast at the moment is about a young teenage girl who's found murdered in these woods so there's these three different story lines the main present day one is the one where she's bought in to talk to the criminal about the influen are going missing but you've got these different threads and I'm really enjoying it firstly I'm a sucker for a podcast that actually does a podcast you know so many books these days are like oh it's got podcaster in it they don't do the podcast I love a podcast in a book I love it I love it I I will die on this I mean you know it has gotten a little bit old but when it's done well it's done well and it's forecast it's sound effects it's what I want from an audio book that has a podcast in it and it's actually got podcast elements I hate oh like what lies in the W by K Marshall it's like oh it has a podcaster do I ever hear any of that podcast ever read any that podcast no I do not no I do not I'm pissed I'm pissed off so that's a pro I'm loving the the moments where we have where we listen to the podcast and have those interviews and it's forecast and what have you but I think that Mak golden is a great writer I remember after this I own stay awake which is maybe even another one the spare no I feel like I own another one I feel like I own a few Megan Gins I got after reading night swim because Megan ging is a great writer a great great writer the way that she's weaving like I said those three kind of different plot points together is so interesting Rachel CR is a very intelligent character to follow and I very much enjoy that I think if you're reading a book that's kind of True Crime entered I think Megan golden handles it very well with a lot of care and it's not salacious and like oh it's true crime you know what I mean it kind of examines it examines the true the morality of True Crime but without going into it too much you know it doesn't really overtly do that but it it handles it with care I'm loving it I'm having so much fun this is exactly what I needed to read and I'm going to count it as a finished series because I've looked and I can't see any news about another one there could be another one someday this came out July 2023 so there could be another one in this series in which case I'll add it back onto my spreadsheet but for now I'm going to mark it as finished because there could very easily also not be another one in this series we shall see it's kind of Standalone Thrillers following the same character so yeah I'm really enjoying it I'm up to I think about 4 and 1 half hours yeah 4 and a half hours of reading listen guys I'm not going to be reading super fast in this the the aim of the game is to read for 24 hours some that reading will be me listening to AUD books whilst I do other stuff but it counts it counts I'm so glad that I've picked this up it's like exactly I did I could didn't cope with anything intense like fantasy like Stone the stone Sky we're going to read enk Jon at some point but I needed something quick energized interesting fastpaced and that is what this is Hello friends it's the next day let me show you what I'm doing TimeWise hang on I'm almost at 7 hours so I don't know when how much I read last time I checked in you I don't know where's my book D about it I am now about 200 pages in two dark Corners it's going very very well I very much enjoying it however I will just say I don't want to spoil anything for you I just got a little point to say [ __ ] influencers I just don't think I like Thrillers with influencers as a topic as a character you know it's a big you know I mentioned that the girl who went missing was an influencer and our main you know investigator Rachel has gone to this influencer convention and he like investigating there and there's like some tea with the influencers and like I feel like every time read a book with influences in it the also feels like they have to describe the whole you know influencing content creation industry like no one knows what it is like and I just don't I don't know if it's because it's my job that I'm like oh this is so boring like you're explaining level one of something I feel like we all most of us now have a pretty you know good understanding of what influencing is like what being an instagrammer or being a YouTuber is is it just is it just me who believes that I don't know I feel like it's like any other [ __ ] job you don't spend ages when it's like doctors like going like oh they get likes and then they work with Brands and then they do they have fans who follow them you know like I don't know if it's just cuz I'm so in it that I'm like this is [ __ ] ridiculous daa no that is not for cats and this isn't even the most egregious version of it I've read far far worse what was the one I read last year it was a I can't even remember the name of it where she's like build renovating a house that one was really bad this one is okay but it's just an element I don't like in my thr is cuz I feel like it's never ever ever ever done well so that's how I'm feeling about this right now but I'm going to it is 23 1 and I'm playing code names at 5:00 with my patrons and Kayla from books and Chanel members but until then I'm going to read so we're going to put in a good stin we should get over the 10 hour mark um before that so I'll probably finish this I'll probably see you before then because it won't take me that long to finish this and then we'll pick our I'm I was meant to upload a video tomorrow Thursday don't think that's going to happen most important thing in my life now is reading some of the Thursday videos might I might have to throw them by the wayside for November at least December videos can't go anywhere cuz they're end of year videos but November videos I may only upload two this month maybe I'll cut two of them anyways you don't care about that I have finished dark Corners by Megan golden I'm giving this four stars it is the perfect popc corny thriller so easy to read so easy to consume sorry this is incredible it's great it's great it's great I really really enjoyed it I you know I like I said I think the rice writing is very strong mid and gon has a very strong writing style Rach is a very interesting character the reason it's not a five and it's a four is partly that influencer thing I just don't think I like books some I don't like books with influencers in them I they never do it well they always you're cringe and there's a big chunk I'd say in the second half late third where you don't feel like you're learning much new it feels like the case kind of stagnates and the things you do find I feel like you don't know the importance of them in that moment you do when other stuff later on is revealed but in that moment I'm like why do I give a [ __ ] you know so it just felt like there a moment where there's kind of the the piecing of this stagnated a bit but I had so much fun reading this you could absolutely read this without reading night swim but I would recommend probably reading night swim first I mean I think a lot of people have loved night swim and don't even know that it's a series and don't even know that this exists oh let me can't forget to take my S bookmark out and otherwise I'll lose that forever yeah it was just a fun Thriller it was a fun Thriller I'm making remembered this you know was it doing anything new not really not really and I don't think it's as strong as night swim but the podcast element is great there's a little bit of a romance in this which I didn't hate I liked it I liked it so shall we remove it from my spreadsheet cuz that is the most I realized we didn't do that I did it with my patrons but I didn't do it with you on um for the last book so let's go remove it from my spreadsheet however I have realized there's a series in there that I haven't added so we're going to have to add a series end straight away but it's okay cuz we're finishing Series right where is this here we go here it is oh this is so satisfying again I'm going to put this under finished cuz there's no news over there being another one but if there's another one one day I'll add it back in let's put it down there oh look how many series have I've only finished Five series so far this year not terrible not great right the book I have realized I have it I have it in house in Ser sea has a sequel house in the seran sea has a sequel now and I haven't added it when did I read this one of my fav books of all time she says 2021 okay what's my color for 2021 purple of course it is I started a l oh we can edit right in here that's perfect what is the sequel to this called I actually can't believe I don't own it I haven't heard many people speak about it also I'm just not watching a lot of book tube at the moment guys I just I'm watching stuff that isn't book related cuz the whole rest of my day is book related but I miss it I do want to I mean good read season I'll be watch watching Lots in end of year I'll be watching Lots oky doie oky DOI oky doie what color is that that one and then we'll bold that but I don't own it okay in terms of what we're going to be reading next I think it's time I think it's time for the stone Sky we're going to finish another series I need to do this now if I don't do it now I'll never do it I'm terrified I'm a little scared of this because this series if you don't know is very very intimidating very very intimidating and I didn't love the obis skate as much as I love the fifth season I think what did I give the obis skate like a 3.5 I want to say so I'm just a bit nervous about this one I think this is going to be our longest in terms of time reading yet I'm going to read this slowly on purpose because enk Jon's books are very intelligent and I want to make sure it all goes into my brain properly so I'm not going to rush this I have got code names with Kayla and my patrons in 25 minutes I don't know what I'm going to think of this one and I feel like it's going to be intense I'll probably check in with you halfway because because it's difficult to talk about this series without spoiling stuff so I'll check in you halfway with my opinion I'll give you a brief rundown on kind of what the series is about but this is a kind of series you don't want to know too much going into it and we shall see but I'm going to feel I am going to feel such a weight off my shoulders once I finished the series this is going to be a real achievement one for me this is probably one of the most intimidating series on my [Music] TBR Hello friends I'm sitting on the sofa cuz I not bear to sit anywhere else um hi there's a there's been I'm so tired I'm so tired there's been building work happening around my house all bloody day and I cannot wait any longer to film so we're here also this is a context a little bit of context you guys I I'm suffering that time of the month it's been bad it's maybe gone on for double the length that it usually does and your girl is low and iron anyways so I just that's a bit of context without being to TMI I'm exhausted I'm taking my iron tablets I'm this close to Consulting a medical professional anyways I'm HealthWay through the stone Sky context explains why I may be struggling with this I'm not enjoying it no no no no I'm not enjoying now there's multitud of reasons for it so all I want to tell you is in the fifth season you meet three women SL girls of of kind of different ages that you're following this um story through or where a season begins where stuff I don't I honestly cannot remember what it's a spoiler and what isn't for like the start of the first book stuff happens it like sends the world into this limbo where a lot of people don't survive it gets very cold and there's stuff to do with like rocks the magic is to do with like rocks and gems and like things okay that and here's my issue I love the the fifth season I think the fifth season was a 4.5 maybe even a five for me I love love love the fifth season however there is stuff that happens in the fifth season that means that that book alone has a geness qua that the rest of the season cannot rest of the season the rest of the series cannot have right just by definition I don't want to SP anything for you but it just you know it has a certain Gena that cannot be repeated and I really struggled with book two I found that it had middle book syndrome I felt like it didn't really feel like a full book it felt like it was just resolving stuff from the first book and setting stuff up for the final book without being a book in its own right and I think that's meant that I just feel very disconnected from this you know I love the first one but I struggled with the second one so much that I really don't give a [ __ ] and this series you have to give a [ __ ] because it's confusing the Magic in this I'm not vibing with really I don't like rock and Earth and the way that the magic is described isn't Fun and cutesy it's serious and scientifical and I'm just not that kind of girl you know I'm just not that kind of girl I never will be that kind of girl it's not for me Mark I'm I feel terribly ill all of a sudden I'm just not enjoying the magic I'm not enjoying the World building I'm finding elements of it confusing I'm finding elements repetitive I feel like we're not going anywhere I feel like nothing's happening also it's three timelines which I've liked other ones but this one I feel like it's not working because I'm really invested in the main timeline the the timeline that I feel like book one and two really that us up to and it means that I just want that to happen this is you know classic classic case of split timeline not being for me oh how much have I read I honestly forgot how much 24 hours a reading is I'm 15 hours and 25 minutes through uh I have read some of this quite slowly I've read some of it driving and I listen to audio books like 1.2 when I'm driving I cannot do anymore cuz I'm like focused especially something like this so there was there was other stuff I wanted to say to you what else do I want to say to you it's just not doing it for me I'm bored as hell I'm falling asleep some of that is to do with my condition why does life hate me there shouldn't be parts of the world building that are still confusing me on the final book and some of that is probably down to my reading comprehension yes but it's just I don't know I I'm not enjoying the way that the magic system works it's very this type of sence I just don't think it's for me I love the piss season I'm very interested in trying my K Jon and I'm saying a s to you with recognizing this is incredibly written enk Json is an incredibly gifted writer and I can see the craft and the art but am me and this book vibing no but really honestly the split timeline is really what's killing it off because there's one split timeline that there's three right there's one that's the main one there's another one that's following characters like that we care about but I'm not I haven't been we haven't spend a lot of time with them throughout the series so I'm not super invested and there's one where like I am I think I know what's going on but you could easily tell me that I absolutely don't have a scoop like I'm not invested because I don't know what the [ __ ] is going on I don't know what the [ __ ] is going on here on this day I honestly do not um I'm going to finish this book tonight I'm going to finish book tonight my aim is to get up to 20 hours red cuz then I have to edit this book tomorrow I have to edit this video tomorrow we may not read like 20 I'm going to you know if it's like 23 hours and 20 minutes like I can't read another book in 40 minutes we're going to read until a fees up so I think it'll be this book and one other you know I think it's feasibly what we're going to read in this video um yeah yeah I'm I'm really struggling with it I'm really struggling with it some of that's down to me some of that's down to the book I've seen so people give this great reviews and I just really think that my disconnect from the second but you can't afford to disconnect from this series it is so you need to be locked in with everything that it's saying and everything is paying down that uh I think that's ruined me so I'm going to go keep reading I'm probably going to keep reading it pretty slowly cuz I want to have as much reading comprehension like I'm I'm pretty much reading it VI very slowly via the audiobook because I want to listen to it slowly and keep reading comprehens mention because I want to enjoy it but who knows maybe I'll try and speed up a little bit and read more of it physically in the second half I'm just so tired I'm so tired anyways I just think also I'm struggling with okay I know I keep chatting I'm struggling with fantasy at the moment I'm struggling with fantasy I'm finding fantasy a bit difficult I'm really into Mysteries and sters at the moment which is good because I'm going to be reading a lot of them for the rest of the year but um yeah I'm just finding that hard okay I think we need to hold hands when we talk about this I have finished the stone Sky by enk jeson I did not enjoy this book I did not enjoy this book I'm very disappointed I'm very sad I'm I'm almost heartbroken I have a lot of problems with it I don't really know where to begin okay firstly that third timeline I was mentioned is really what killed it off of me because it is the backstory of one of the characters so it's all a flashback and I could not care less I could not care less I think I didn't really understand what the pur purpose of telling us that well even once I finished the book I'm like I don't if I cuz I was checked out but I didn't really get why we would being told this and it's it's long it's a third of the book and and you know it's long chapters and I'm just like snooze fast let's get this over done with I also felt like a lot of characters so this series kills off its best characters number one and then the other characters they get introduced who are good I feel like have no Z Z development in this book are totally underutilized you know all the the most interesting characters me are in that main timeline which is only a third of the book oh my God I hate split timelines I hate them I hate them I shouldn't get this angry and they just have no room to grow they have no room to grow this book is really for me resting on the shoulders of the main character and it's barely in it know everyone's barely in it cuz it's split timeline I hate it I'm giving this two stars okay I'm alone in that I'm alone in that when I go on good reads it's like I mean I mean let's go look shall we um 2% of reviews give it two stars 2% 51% of reviews give it five stars I am alone in this this is a solo issue but I can recognize that so you may still love this you may still love this but I just love the first book in the series and I really my enjoyment has diminished and diminished and it took me ages to read this book because I could not bring myself to pick it up physically I relied on the Audi book and I read the AUD book slowly to try to understand I 21 hours I've spent like 11 hours reading this book that is insane that is insane 10 hours 11 hours reading this book insane insane I could have read a lot more books in this video but this one killed me I'm so sorry I I just really think that it could have been so much better if you you give like I'm just going to say Tony if you read it if you read the series tonkey Great Character needs so much more so much more time I think probably says two lines in this book like it's so oh so annoying I really really found this incredibly boring and I'm sad about it I feel like I should not be saying this but I have to speak my truth and like I said I'm Solo in this everyone else seems to freaking love it so you know this isn't me saying it's bad it's just bad for me it's bad for me you know I do think this series says interesting stuff has interesting themes about oppression about discrimination about the way different groups of people are treated but I I just think it loses so much of itself and I feel like in the first book every scene was so vivid to me and in this the this book and the second book particularly in this one though like I can't picture things I can't picture things and you know the second book is so so static you're in one place for a lot of the second book and then this one is all just a journey it's just a journey people going from point A to point B is all this book is that's all we're going to talk about I'm so sorry but let's let me screen record and let's at least move it to my finished series because that does feel like an achievement I mean when did I start this series in 2021 I think it was right at the start of 2021 as well this feels like such an achievement I'm very proud of myself for doing this but I'm sad that this is where We've Ended up with this with this series cuz I loved the first one but there we go another series finished in terms of what I'm going to read next I did think about finishing the Sinclair's Mysteries or like making which one's the third one The Mystery of the painted Dragon I did think about making progress in this series however we've only got 3 hours left and I think it might take me a little bit longer than 3 hours if I'm realistic to read this especially cuz I'm about to start cooking dinner and I wanted an audio book so I am going to listen to this first bit slowly and then I remembered the imposition of unnecessary obstacles I I mean also if I was reading this I wouldn't be finishing a series I'm not finishing a series of this but I'm getting up to date I'm out of focus I'm getting up to date with finishing a series or Le it'll be it'll be finished until June 20 until June next year so I think this is what we're going to read it is a noela it's a Sherlock Holmes retelling it's a Sci-Fi mystery with a bit of a romance in it yeah I'm really really looking forward to this and the audio book I think is about 4 hours so I should definitely finish it in the time that we've got I'm going to go make dinner and start the audio book but I mean like I very rarely you can look through here I very read read the second book in the series the same year I've read the first there's a few but it's not it's not super common like if we scroll up here like how many have I read you know lady Hard Castle I did but there's not many so I'm proud of myself for making progress in a series that I've started this year I think that's a good achievement so I'll probably see you in the morning once I finished it because it is just a Nolla but I think this is going to be a good pick although I've been struggling with sci-fi and fantasy at the moment it seems that's a new development who told me that was going to happen I'm I'm excited I'm excited to pick this one up [Music] okie dokie good morning friends I have finished the imposition of unnecessary obstacles by Mala Alder the second in this little sci-fi mystery romance Nolla series and I have thoughts so basically the series if you haven't heard about it we're following Mossa and platy Mossa is an investigator and is very Sherlock Holmes coded very kind of socially unaware or a little bit socially awkward and platy is her exgirlfriend perhaps but they still have feelings for each other essentially in the first book and this series is them solving mysteries on this the are we on Mars are we we're we're on a we're in space somewhere Earth had to flee humans had to flee from Earth and they've come I think to Mars and everyone lives on these platforms and there's like trains on these platforms but you can fall off the platforms quite easily platy is actually working is one of the part of the team trying to work to get us back to Earth get humans back to Earth and here's the thing I with the first book felt like the Sci-Fi and the romance with a really strong part and the Mystery suffered in this one I feel like the mystery for the majority of the book is really really strong because you've done a lot of the World building in the first book I feel like you had to set up a lot of where we are the kind of rules of the world what the situation is in the first book and I say that's hard in a noela but in this I felt like okay we have the understanding and the romance has kind of developed in ways and so it was really able to be focused on the mystery however I'm giving this a 3.5 because I was really disappointed by the ending and this being more hinging on the mystery I feel like the ending is so rushed the like resolution of the mystery is like two pages like like the reveal of who done it you know there's someone going missing in this one they're investigating like missing people from the University that platey works at and um I loved the majority of the book I was loving I was like wow it's like maybe a 4.5 like I'm really enjoying it but I just felt so let down by the reveal like it was blinking you miss it like you couldn't if you weren't paying attention you could be you know forgiven for forgetting that the mystery had actually been solved so that is really what this this hinged on for me in giving it a 3.5 I still really enjoy the series I'm still going to continue on with the series I think it's a very unique series of books I haven't really read anything like it so if you're looking for a Sci-Fi mystery romance this would be a recommendation I think it's really cool and I I loved the character development we're getting with moer and platy and the way that they're growing together and the way that we're seeing more sides of them I find pl's work very interesting she she's basically charged for like trying to cultivate plants like we don't have good records in this world for like what Earth was like so she's Reading literature to try and find out stuff about plants and animals so that we can try and like replicate that that biodiversity if humans were to go back to Earth which was really interesting and I liked how we followed on from parts of the first book so a lot of this was really really strong for me alas the ending was a let down it could have been like a 4.5 but it was a 3.5 it was it was a 4.54 and then the ending took it down to a 3.5 but I don't care because we've got up to this one we got up to date in the series we're up to date until June 2025 so let's mark it and move it shall we so we can get rid of those marks let's turn it blue oh my God this is so satisfying and then we'll put it into up to- dat series which we don't have as many of but still that's pretty pretty satisfying so there we have it friends oh in my timer hang on I read most of this one through the Audi book as well just cuz I was cooking dinner I read a little bit I read for 24 hours and 35 minutes I read for 24 but some sometimes I forgot to end my timer before you've seen me forget to end my timer so that's probably at least like 10 minutes there of me not reading perhaps more maybe like 15 20 of where I forgot to end my timer and G around things I'm like oh [ __ ] I have to end my timer so we read for about 25 4 hours and we finished or got up to date with four series which it could have been more not bad I mean they're still great like I've ticked four series off my currently reading total we're going to have a video in December talking all about my series reading this year and how it's gone and you know y y all my thoughts on Series so we're I'm not going to tell you how many series I'm currently reading I'm going to keep that shim but four series ticking off is great but I could have read more had I not spent so long meing the stone sky that one really killed me I'm like dead deceased killed me off but please let me know what you thought of any of these series also let me know what series you're loving at the moment because I feel like I've done so well with my series goal this year like I'm really happy with how it's gone so I'm starting to feel like I could add a few more series in I mean obviously I still want to try and you know get some more done like I said earlier this year I really want to read as many like second books in the series I want to have like as few Series where I've only read the first book as possible so maybe that will be a bit of a goal for next year I don't know we're not doing wrapped up this year guys I haven't want to tell you otherwise that would be what I do for wrapped up would be a series maybe next year but we're giving wrapped up a rest I'm scared to tell everyone that anywhere but it's official we not doing wrapped up this year so I love
