Philadelphia's DA tried to stop Elon Musk from continually handing out million dollar checks to voters but the richest man deftly postponed the case until after the election. President Trump sued CBS for doctoring the videos of the interview with Kamala Harris in order to help the Democratic candidate. In the final stages of the election, President Trump's support has been rising in swing states, especially in the key state of Pennsylvania. This has put a lot of pressure on his opponent. Russia has given Google a sky high fine, a number so large that a Russian spokesperson doesn't know how to pronounce it. Okay, let's get into it. Elon Musk was originally required to attend an emergency court hearing in Philadelphia That's what a Pennsylvania judge ordered Musk to do on Wednesday. It's a response to a lawsuit that was filed by Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner's office to stop Musk from paying out a million dollars a day in raffle prizes to swing state voters. This was an order that was issued at the request of Krasner's attorneys who asked the judge to order all parties to be present, including Krasner, representatives of America PAC and Musk himself. But Musk did not show up for the hearing because his legal team filed a motion to transfer the case to federal court late on Wednesday night. Musk said in a filing that Krasner's lawsuit raises questions of free speech rights and election interference that belong in federal court. At the hearing on Thursday morning in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Judge Angelo Foglietta said that he would hold the lawsuit in abeyance while the federal court considers whether to take the case. Foglietta noted that Musk should have appeared in person at the hearing as a defendant in the case, but he declined to immediately sanction him. Musk's attorney, Matthew Haverstick, argued that the America PAC should be the only defendant and that Musk was too busy to show up in court hours after the hearing was scheduled. Krasner's team challenged the claim. Prosecutor John Summers said that the owner of SpaceX could easily show up if he was inclined to do so. The judge's response was humorous. He said he's not going to get in a rocket ship and take it to Philadelphia. Let's be serious here. On Thursday afternoon, Krasner's office filed an emergency motion to return the case to state court, calling Musk's maneuver a stunt designed to run the clock until Election Day. The case is now in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania before U.S. District Judge Gerald Pappett. He gave Musk's lawyers until today to respond. Elon Musk warns if Trump is not elected, this will be the last election. Conservatively speaking, if one in 20 illegals become citizens, America becomes a one-party state. On Thursday, President Trump sued CBS over the 60-minute interview with Vice President Kamala Harris accusing the television network of election and voter interference. According to the lawsuit, President Trump's attorney said that a CBS interview with Harris that aired on 60 Minutes earlier this month was malicious, deceptive, and substantial news distortion that was calculated to confuse, deceive, and mislead the public. President Trump's attorneys also argued that the edits were done in an effort to attempt to tip the scales in favor of the Democratic. The lawsuit seeks at least $10 billion in damages and a jury trial and requires the network to provide a full transcript of Harris's October 7th interview with reporter Bill Whitaker. CBS News refused to release the full transcript and insisted that the interview was not doctored and that the program did not hide any part of the Vice President's answer to the question at issue. In a statement released on October 20th, CBS explained that the difference between Harris's answer to questions about Israel in the segments that were aired on Face the Nation and 60 Minutes was due to the fact that Face the Nation quoted a longer answer from 60 Minutes. It was the same question, the same answer, but a different part. A CBS spokesperson said that President Trump's lawsuit against CBS was unfounded and that CBS would defend itself vigorously. With the U.S. election just four days away, both candidates are doing their final campaign sprints, both canvassing in Nevada on Thursday in hopes of garnering more support from swing voters before Election Day. The last poll from the key battleground state of Pennsylvania shows President Trump with a higher approval rating than Vice President Kamala Harris, although we all know that polls aren't necessarily accurate. We can still see the voters' tendency from the changes in the polls. A number of recent polls show Harris's previous lead disappearing as the election approaches with President Trump outpacing Harris after October. An ABC News poll showed Harris leading by 1.4% in the national poll, but President Trump is leading by 0.4% in the Pennsylvania poll. The outlet expects President Trump to win Pennsylvania, but a RealClearPolitics poll shows the two candidates are still tied. President Trump leads the national poll by 0.4% and he also leads Harris by 0.7% in Pennsylvania. A new Quinnipiac University poll shows President Trump leading Harris by two points in a one-on-one matchup. He also leads by one point with third-party candidates included. Another poll conducted by Monmouth University over the same period showed President Trump leading Harris by one point among likely voters at 47% to 46%. But The Hill is still reporting that Vice President Kamala Harris could win the presidential election next week. But if she loses to President Trump, there are already a lot of backstabbing in Democratic circles. When people were disappointed with Harris's message, especially on the economy, the finger was pointed at her and her campaign. Some Democrats have already looked to pin the blame on President Biden, who some think took too long to step aside. One Democratic strategist said, People just had to fall in line. It's not surprising to me that some of the blame game is happening even before election day. If Harris loses, there will be a mad dash to assign blame, the strategist added. For example, if President Trump wins Pennsylvania, Harris will be criticized for her decision to pick Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her partner instead of Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro. Citing U.S. government officials, the Associated Press reported that the White House has altered the official record of Biden's video calls with Latino supporters. The original transcript reads, The only garbage I see floating out there is his supporters. His demonization of Latinos is unconscionable. It's un-American. The White House changed the transcript and put an apostrophe in the word supporters to change it to supporter apostrophe s, which aides said pointed to Biden's criticizing Hinchcliffe, not the millions of Americans who are supporters of President Trump. An internal email from the head of the stenographer's office that was obtained by the Associated Press stated that the change was made by the press office in consultation with the president. Two government officials who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss internal matters confirmed the authenticity of the email. The supervisor in the email called the press office's handling of the matter a breach of protocol and spolianization of transcript integrity between the stenography and press offices. Biden was marginalized in the final days of Harris's campaign because of the garbage gate fiasco. Media outlets reported earlier this week that Harris's campaign is intentionally distancing itself from Biden and has politely declined offers for more joint campaign appearances. On Thursday, Republican Vice Presidential candidate Senator J.D. Vance said his phone was hacked by Chinese entities. Speaking on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast for three hours, Vance said that Chinese hackers breached his cell phone. However, most of his messages were encrypted using third-party apps such as Signal. So, Vance thinks that the hackers could not get the encrypted messages. The confirmation came less than a week after the FBI and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency released a joint statement. In the statement, the officials acknowledged an investigation into the unauthorized access to commercial telecommunications infrastructure. The statement said that the agencies immediately notified affected companies, they rendered technical assistance, and they rapidly shared information to assist other potential victims. Vance also said that he believes that President Trump's phone was hacked by China-based actors. He said that authorities informed President Trump that the breach was part of a larger Chinese effort which is known as Salt Typhoon. Salt Typhoon aimed to infiltrate and exploit U.S. infrastructure. Similarly, there is another operation that is called Volt Typhoon. Volt Typhoon is associated with a Chinese hacking group that successfully infiltrated thousands of U.S. systems, including critical infrastructure such as water and air traffic control systems. And these are not the only ones. Recent revelations have shown that Chinese, Russian, and Iranian cyber groups regularly tried to interfere with presidential elections. Last month, there were just 12,000 new jobs. This number is much smaller than expected. Economists had previously expected 110,000 new jobs and an unemployment rate of 4.1%. The actual number of jobs added was only one-tenth of what was expected. But the unemployment rate was in line with expectations. The Labor Department said that the response rate from companies surveyed for the employment reports was unusually low last month. The White House noted this week that the October jobs report would be affected by devastating hurricanes Helene and Milton and labor action. Manufacturing employment fell by 46,000 jobs in October. The Labor Department said that this was dragged down by a 44,000 job loss in transportation equipment manufacturing that was largely due to strike activities. Private sector payrolls fell by 28,000 in October, which is much worse than the 90,000 job growth that was expected. But government employment grew by 40,000. Google was recently hit by an unprecedented legal storm in Russia, where a Russian court imposed an eye-watering two-decillion dollar fine. What is this number? It's a two followed by 33 zeros. According to World Bank estimates, the global economy totals around 110 trillion dollars, which is a one followed by 12 zeros. Yet this fine issued by the Russian court is a staggering 20 zeros more than the total global economy. So how did the court make the ruling on this fine? The cause of the incident goes back to the start of the Russia-Ukraine war. By the impact of international sanctions, Google's YouTube platform blocked the accounts of 17 Russian TV channels, which included the Kremlin's official media channels, such as Russia One, as well as related platforms that are owned by Margarita Simonyan, a host on Russia Today. Attorney Ivan Morozov told TASS, Google was called by a Russian court to administrative liability under Article 13.41 of the Administrative Offenses Code for removing channels on the YouTube platform. The court ordered the company to restore these channels. As the lawsuit against the tech giant unfolds in Russia, Google had been fined 100,000 rubles per day, and it also received a warning that the amount of the fine would double every 24 hours if Google did not pay the fine within nine months. So between 2022 and now, that fine becomes an astronomical 20 decillion. Roman Yankovsky from the HSE Institute of Education told TASS that Google obviously won't pay the fine and the Russian Federation won't be able to recover the money from the company. Google's holding company Alphabet has a market capitalization of just over $2 trillion. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told reporters the huge sum, which he said he could not even pronounce in rubles. Peskov said, These demands, they simply demonstrate the essence of our channel's claims against Google. Google should not restrict the activities of our broadcasters, and Google is doing this.
