I still want to get one of these from Dissident done all up in 5.45.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
All right, 150.
Impact.
200.
Impact.
Neutralized.
On at 250.
Off the left edge, nine o'clock.
That's literally the exact same spot.
Okay, I'll push it to the right then.
Wait, left edge or nine o'clock?
Or left edge at nine o'clock.
Okay, I'll push it to the right.
Impact.
Okay.
On at 300.
Should I keep it to the right?
I don't feel the wind.
I don't feel that the wind has changed.
Let's see what happens.
Impact, left edge.
Impact.
That one ended up on the right edge.
Yeah, it's definitely, it's pushing it to the left.
Yeah.
That last one, I put the center of the chevron on the right edge.
And then the one before that, it was a little bit between the center and the right edge.
So yeah, so definitely, yes, definitely moving the rounds toward the left side of the plate.
Okay.
All right, on at 350.
I think that might have been just a touch short.
Impact.
High, low?
Looked like it was good.
On the right half, good elevation.
Same spot.
Okay.
So yeah, I'm aiming on the edge of the plate.
And the last two, I had to bump it a little higher.
Basically, I used the 400 dot at the base of the target's aim.
All right, I'm on at 400.
Just underneath it, six o'clock.
Okay, I'll aim a little higher.
Impact, dead center.
Impact.
Nice.
Yeah, basically, I had to use the 400 dot, but I aimed a little higher on the plate.
Gotcha.
Did we end up truing this at 400, or did we just zero it at 100?
We just zeroed it at 400.
We did?
Yeah, so I forgot to true this.
So we didn't true it?
We didn't true it.
All right, fair enough.
So what Josh means by truing, basically, after you zero,
you want to use the 400-yard dot to double check if it's actually on elevation at 400.
We did not do that.
So that first shot was off.
Right, just a touch short.
The reason being, you might see a good zero at 100, but when you extrapolate that to 400,
being off a half an inch can actually end up being two, three, four inches,
depending upon how much you're off and the distance you're shooting.
However...
We extended out to range, and then we true it after the zero if we're doing things...
But right now, since I know where it's landing, I don't want to true it,
because I don't want to knock off what I...
Well, I wouldn't, yeah, definitely not right now in the middle of the run, for sure.
On at 450.
Okay, it was just...
Oh, hold.
Just a touch short, and about maybe a half target to the right.
Okay, better elevation.
You're still off the right side.
Impact.
This cartridge is so sensitive to the wind, dude.
Yep, good old 7.62 by 3.9.
I mean, that was barely a change in the wind, and honestly, after that 350 meter zone,
7.62 just gets so sensitive.
I mean, it's like shooting a 300 blackout supersonic.
Yeah.
I used the 500.
Initially, I aimed it on the right edge of the plate.
Misses, pushed it to the left edge, and then those were hits.
Excellent.
All right.
Oh, good timing.
All right, on at 500.
Okay, impact was at four o'clock, about a half target to the...
Quarter target to the right, quarter target low.
Got it.
Ready?
Yep.
Okay, nine o'clock.
Perfect elevation.
Just bring it back just a little bit.
It was just off the edge.
Impact.
Nice run, dude.
That was a really, really solid run, especially for a 7.62 by 3.9 cartridge.
Nice.
All right, let's take it over to the debrief.
I've got to say, man, earlier I said this 103 is the ideal Middle Eastern setup with a 2X.
I'm not going to lie, the safety on this is nice and Western.
The FAL-like charging handle.
Throw in a little RS regulate handguard.
Yeah, get some room to throw some accessories on there.
This is the Vietnam's new service rifle too.
Wow.
But they don't use scopes.
And I've got to say this 2X.
Yeah, the primary arm's two times.
It was on point all the way out there.
Yeah.
I mean, I didn't true it.
Anyways, we'll catch you at the debrief.
And if you couldn't tell, we're quite excited about this one.
Go.
Good run, dude.
This is where we find out that one of the cameras is off.
Surprising run.
Very, very, very surprising.
So earlier, earlier this year, I did a video on what I think an ideal setup for the Middle East
or the AK-103 with a primary arms 2X on top.
And because that uses a lot of local logistics, 76239, local magazines.
It's a dependable, accurate enough rifle.
I think this is a very valid contender to the AK-103.
Yeah, and I wasn't expecting it to be quite as strong of a performer.
But look, let's kind of dial this back just a little bit, though.
The AK-103, the AK-74M, their successor is the AK-12 and AK-15.
AK-12 and AK-15.
AK-15 is a 76239 version of the AK-12.
So what do they have done to them?
Collapsible folding stock.
They have a better, they have a safety where you could, it's basically like the Krebs safety,
where you can use your trigger finger to manipulate.
Galil, they use a thumb safety with an option on the side for AK users.
Fully, and I'm talking about AK-15, that has the fully extended top picatinny rail for optics.
It has the sight radius pulled back.
It has a front sight block pulled into a combo gas block to
eliminate weight off of the end of the barrel.
AK-15?
AK-15, AK-12.
Is 15 the 7x39 one that you?
Yeah, AK-15 is a 76239 version of the AK-12.
And then it has a railed handguard, and it also uses the traditional Kalashnikov magazines.
However, the Galil also has a left side non-reciprocating charging handle,
which I think is a phenomenal addition to it.
So when you look at that, you look at the AK-15 as a next step forward on the Russian side,
the Israelis already did it.
Yeah, it's definitely in line and clearly very capable.
When we look at the Western market anyway, and the accessibility,
obviously the Galil aces are in the US and available, at least to a degree,
compared to the AK-12s that are unobtainium effectively.
So I mean that piece of it is also particularly interesting.
It's got aftermarket support.
It interchanges with all Kalashnikov pattern magazines, now that they even have the 5.45.
It's got the sight radius thing, a superior type of sight radius.
It's got aperture sights.
It's got optics compatibility.
It's got a length of pull adjustable stock.
It's got a folding stock so you can run in compact spaces.
It's got a safety that's easy to manipulate.
It's got a charging handle that's non-reciprocating.
Shall I go on?
It's got ALG triggers to make it even nicer.
Yep, extended handguards.
RS Regulate makes a great one that we've been checking out.
I've got to say, I mean, and...
It's definitely a very strong contender for a rifle where if you're looking to,
specifically if you're looking to pattern into something in the x39 category,
the 7.62 or the 5.45 are both, they seem to be,
especially after today, they seem to be great options.
The quick transition off of the rifle itself, we shot the primary arms two power,
is this the ACSS?
Yeah, it's the ACSS.
Gold or GLX series.
This particular one, we shot it on the AK103, liked it on there,
thought it was a good rounded optic,
something you could shoot both eyes open up close for speed,
but also you could push out and, you know,
500 is probably pushing it a little bit.
Sort of mid-long range, somewhere at the edge of where it really drops off.
Right, right.
But so inside of like, you know, again, caliber specific too,
like the 7.62x39, of course you can hit targets at that distance and longer,
we've done that, but the ideal range is probably,
max is at around that particular yard marker.
So when you look at that in this particular optic,
I mean, you were able to use this to great effect again
in this particular run.
So I mean, I think again, just proving that it's a certainly viable option.
And another thing that I noticed is that due to the height here,
over the stock, you opted to keep this on a low mount,
as opposed to going to what you might do on an AR
where you might use an extended height mount or something to that effect,
you opted to keep it on a low mount.
How did you feel about using like,
cheek weld versus chin weld type conversation?
I think so.
Maybe that's something that we have to make a further video on
because we've been delving into a lot of the Russian Alpha AKs
and seeing the Russian guys using EOTechs
and our wisdom from the mid 2000s would tell us that that is just horrible.
Right.
And there's no way.
But I honestly, now that we've shot it quite a bit,
that's not an issue.
You just train it out on close range.
Make sure you get your height overbore.
Make sure you basically know how to aim.
I mean, and that comes down to training.
But man, I've got to say this.
It's a phenomenal rifle.
I mean, there is...
I see why the Vietnamese went and got Galil Aces.
However, it's interesting because they don't use optics.
They run it with iron sights.
But look how exaggerated the front iron sight is.
Yeah, it's a huge, giant fin.
Yeah.
I feel like that would be still pretty easy to do heads up with iron sights.
Yeah.
And just kind of similar to how I think you've demonstrated
shooting out of the notch on AK sights.
I think this would be closer to running how I would run ARs
because basically you pop the front sight on top of the lollipop.
You look over the top of the rear sight, right?
Yeah.
Yep, agreed.
But this is...
All in all, I've got nothing bad to say at all.
No.
Obviously, the run...
Speaks for itself.
Smoked the course.
Yep.
Handling, fantastic.
Uses all AK stuff.
Uses aftermarket stuff easily.
And ticks all of the boxes for kind of like the modernizing of the platform.
And it's not the price of a SCAR.
