This piece is inspired my viewing of the Shen Yun performance. I have loved to watch Shen Yun's beautiful performances since I saw it for the first time when I was four years old, and it has become an unbreakable annual tradition for me - I have not missed a show since.

However, during 2020 and 2021, the performances were cancelled because of the global COVID-19 pandemic restricting people from gathering in theatres - this was saddening, knowing that many others including me would miss out on revisiting those stage lights, the ethereal costumes, the stunning, heavenly backdrops, the journey through time and space, and the glowing mist that would flood off the stage and into the orchestra pit as soon as the gong was struck and the curtain rose. And so when I could come back to see the performance in 2022, it was the most unforgettable thing.

Shen Yun's performances are a special and memorable experience no other show can replicate because they have a deeper meaning - they speak of humanity returning to tradition and the good, how belief in the divine and traditional moral values can inspire us during these modern days where trends may come and go, helping people from any background regardless of culture or language to rediscover timeless values of compassion and beauty.

I created this piece of music when I was 14 years old and still hope to one day join the Shen Yun tour to spread these messages to people all over the world. Upon viewing Shen Yun, people are not only brought to a whole new world, but uplifted with newfound hope for the future through returning to their original roots.
