🤫 The BIGGEST Excuses Stopping People From Selling Their Crafts (Do You Have Them Too?) 🤫

all right my friends it is time to drop the excuses I'm ready to dig in and share with you guys all the different thoughts that are holding you back from selling your crafts because here's the deal you were super creative chances are you've been crafting for 6 months a year three years and you still for whatever reason think you're not good enough to sell your crafts but here's the catch you are and your thoughts that you have about yourself isn't uncommon I've coached thousands of people on how they can get over for themselves and they can actually make a lot of money with their passion and that's what I'm all about here everyone at the maker learn office wants to see you succeed and sell your crafts but the one thing we got to do is we got to get you out of your own way you are the only thing holding you back from making a lot of money selling your crafts because you are an expert and you need to show up like one so in today's video I'm going to ask everyone in their office what the biggest excuse they see in coaching our clients in getting success and selling their crafts are you ready let's dive in all right y'all I'm with senior craft producer Alicia okay Alicia we need to know what is the number one thing that you see people saying and kind of making excuse about selling their crafts what do you think oh I think that the biggest thing that people comp I wouldn't say complain about but are worried about is just the simple fear of failure okay I love this so when you think about failure what I like to think about is I have I I don't think people understand how much we fail like how many times when it comes to crafting or actually selling like we fail a lot oh oh all the time we fail like a hundred times before you all even see it yeah like I mean iness in a craft project in I mean we make a lot of listings on our Etsy shops that are secret and we don't get discouraged the first time that we list something and it's been two days and not make a sell yeah I mean come on how how what would you say to someone that is scared of failing I would say just put yourself out there I mean the worst that somebody's going to say is no or you're just not going to get the worst thing they can say is no can you find peace within yourself if someone tells you no you can you can do it I promise do you remember the first time someone ever told you no um I remember the first time someone critiqued something that I made and did not know that I made it uh-uh and yeah it hurt my feelings but it was like ripping a Band-Aid off from then on out I was like oh fine I don't care like nothing hurt my feelings dang i o oh that's good got learn you just got to learn to take it I love it thank you all right we're going to come over to Courtney and see what excuse she hears the most in our community I'm excited to see what you think Courtney what excuse are you constantly hearing not enough time they're too busy they got too much else going on listen I think people spend too much time telling themselves they don't got time you're too busy saying you're busy to actually be busy making money I think it really I mean when you think about how little time it takes to put yourself out there y'all it starts with one social media post it could take 15 minutes yeah and our new way of doing things it just doesn't feel like so so much work like you can do this while watching a movie with your family and when something's funny you are still laughing because you're not like all in and like so focused like it just feels so fun and natural and it's like easy to do Ian Courtney within your life Courtney's making so many listings like after our kids go to bed like while we're watching our Netflix show you know what I mean like and it's and I think the best part is you're just putting stuff out there to see what happens exactly and I think that you can take it as serious as you want to like if you are going to which I don't recommend like quitting your job tomorrow and depending on this when you don't have a base yet but if you do have a base and you need to like keep up that income like yes you can sit down at your desk and focus from 9 to 5 every single day but that's not the only option here what I think is the most important and the biggest excuse I see is a lot of people are you know because they have the fear of failure they are finding evidence of ways they're failing instead of just putting stuff out there there and just not tying themselves to it and what I mean by that is like I made a listing yesterday no one's bought it yet see I'm a failure you need to give the algorithm 30 60 90 days to rank your stuff or 30 people have seen it and no one's bought it when that's like so typical so many views because a view isn't actually like them looking at your listing and deciding whether to buy it's them scrolling through options and yours has popped up in the options and I thought that other thing is that my excuse kind of ties into is fear of success because they think they'll be too busy if it's successful which so I'm why Why Try because as soon as I put it out yeah as soon as I put it out guess what I'm G to have all these orders and I'm not going to be able to handle it no our new way y'all if you have not been to the five shifts training go sign up for it down below because you're going to want to be at there all to meet her Satie say hey what's up guys stie okay we're talking all things um excuses oh gosh so we need to know you have an Etsy shop you just rebranded I did you have one of our new ways of etsy shops which I absolutely adore and love when it comes to just putting yourself out there and selling your crafts in general what is like an excuse you see people make or that you may have made in the past like that held you back I think for me personally because I rebranded I was personally scared that people were doing what I wanted to do and that the market was very saturated and people would not find my work because there's so much in the search when you think about the ways of like how you are supposed to get over it like there isn't a right way to get over it but what did you just decide to do it anyway yeah honestly watching you guys be successful and do it afraid made me want to do it afraid oh I love it doing stuff afraid is like the cheat cat like having thoughts I think just reminding ourselves that you know we can have thoughts about oursel we can have thoughts about our business and we're still committed to the process I think is so important and I love the curiosity like bringing curiosity to your business is actually a lot of fun um and it makes you have like I don't know it just kind of brings like that fun to business right yes absolutely thanks a oh my gosh all right next up is Brooks gray he is our Tech Wizard and we're going ask him a question he has absolutely no idea I'm coming in in here so let's see what he thinks he has put himself out there so many times Brooks I need to ask you a question I'm making a video about all the excuses people make about putting themselves out there what is an excuse you see creatives doing when it comes to not putting themselves out there uh they feel like they don't have all the knowledge they're not experts in the field and there's a lot of impostor syndrome happening have you experienced this absolutely oh so good what would you say that you've used to overcome that because what I would say is like I love doing things not being an expert and I just kind of just do it I just wing it and figure it out um and I think because I love to be a student I'm constantly learning and then teaching other people um so what have you done I think you answered it just start it uh quit waiting for the perfect plan and be adaptable I love it so really y'all got no excuses if you're not the best at what you do that's okay serve the people I always think about um Amy Porterfield she always says you only need to be like 10% better than the people you're teaching and for a lot of us Crafters like we know how to make the crafts way better than the people buying it so we don't need to be the best crafter out there to serve the people in our community and that really need what we have so thanks love it okay to the next person all right y'all last but not least we're going to ask Lauren McCoy what the biggest excuse you see people have when it comes to putting themselves out there I feel like people are afraid people are I think a lot of people are think that they're afraid of failure but really and truly they are afraid of success worse o um because they want their time and they're afraid that they're not going to have enough time on their own so they just they because of that they get stuck they don't make a choice and they just sit stagnant o okay let's think about this when it comes to making a choice let's talk about that for a second I mean obviously I think there's a lot of people here that know what they need to make and like just do it how do you think you get over the fact that you have to pick something well it's you have to a lot of people suffer from decision fatigue and they just don't like to make decisions and it just comes down to make a decision if it doesn't work then you try something new yes thank you which goes back to how we started the video talking about fear of failure here's the thing my friends you need to put yourself out there you need to let it happen and if it doesn't work out the first time that's totally fine Bring
