When it comes to your job, again, it is a function of skills and value.
So just try and do more and try and do unique things.
If you're assigned to a project at your job, well, just put in 10% more effort and create
something that your employer didn't think you'd create, that no one else on your team
is going to create.
Right?
And if you do that, you're going to stand out, you're going to get promoted faster,
and so on.
And also, if you switch jobs, in some cases, if you're, say, an engineer, the more you
switch jobs, the more you're going to get paid.
On average, if you do have a skill set and you work at Tesla, and then you go to Apple,
then you go to Facebook, then you go to Snapchat, and so on, you're going to get paid more every
time.
That only applies at a certain income threshold, that doesn't apply for, say, minimum wage.
But generally, the more experience you have, the better off you're going to be.
Also, again, just try and do different things than the people you're competing against,
either for a job, in a job interview, while you're at the job, etc.
If you can just do different things and stand out, you're going to get promoted faster,
you're going to get more opportunities, and so on, and so forth.
