Saddle Mountain hike is hard, and somewhat terrifying at times, but the payoff is amazing. At the top there are views of mile upon mile of desert and mountains. We used All Trails to guide us to the trailhead and along the trail route. This is a low trafficked trail with a rock scramble up the last quarter.
Saddle Mountain is located on the Saddle Mountain BLM Dispersed camping area approximately 1 hour drive west of Phoenix, AZ. The trailhead can be found at approximate GPS coordinates 33°27'04.1"N 113°02'13.3"W. The trail took us about 4 hours to complete (in and out), but we had read other reviews of people going faster. Come prepared with lots of water and do not hike in really hot weather.
