Hey guys, in this video I'm going to show you
how you can make good money working from home,
basically replying to emails.
So we have a bunch of work-from-home jobs here,
and the first one we're looking at is at smile.io,
which is a place where they help small businesses grow,
increase sales, and customer loyalty.
They have a technical support specialist
available right now that is going to be mostly chat
and email-based support.
This does say Canada,
but they do also have their headquarters in Canada.
A lot of companies post their headquarters as the location.
It doesn't always mean you have to just be
in that country or that city.
So when you look at this,
this is an indication that they could accept applicants
from all over the world,
because they have a fully distributed company.
They have people all over the world in Canada,
USA, South America, Europe,
Middle East, Africa, and Asia Pacific.
So if you are checking this job out here,
this is a full-time role.
They're looking to fill 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Eastern Standard Time,
8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Pacific Standard Time.
They are looking for someone who's highly technical
as a self-starter,
who thrives in a fast-paced changing environment,
two to three years of experience
working in a technical capacity,
preferably at a software as a service company.
You have excellent written communication skills
and can translate technical concepts
to basically explain them and simplify them to others.
They also mentioned
that they primarily use Slack, Notion, and Google Meet.
You have the ability to creatively problem-solve
and improvise in ambiguous situations.
You can basically delve into varying degrees of complexity
for different issues and support requests.
You love talking to people
and always put the merchant first.
And as far as you have the desire
to be the voice of the merchants at Smile
and you're comfortable working those hours
that they mentioned here.
So they say communicate with merchants through email chat.
They say that there could be some phone calls,
but they are occasional.
So this is one of the few on this list
I'm gonna show you
where there may actually be an occasional phone call,
but the rest are mostly going to be
like the vast majority email and chat,
as this one is as well,
but some of them don't have any phone calls
would be the difference.
You'll be doing a lot of troubleshooting.
You'll create internal and external support documentation,
collect and share valuable user experience feedback
and engage and collaborate
with the remote team across the world.
Then they get into a few like metrics
that they're very proud of
and that they want to meet
like a customer satisfaction score of 90% or above
and things like that.
They don't mention really benefits on this page here,
but as far as what's like to work here at smile.io,
they have a 4.3 out of five star rating,
86% recommend working here to a friend.
Benefit wise they have one rating,
they don't have the average yet,
but it is a five star rating.
They say great benefits at this company.
Interview wise,
they have a 2.8 out of five difficulty rating,
which is not bad.
And they also have 48% positive compared to 39% negative
for the feedback on the interview experience here.
So as far as what it could be like
to basically earn a living here
and how much it might pay you,
it looks like we do have one person
that said they made about $45,000 a year.
Next, we have a company called Automatic.
Automatic is a place
where they have a lot of different products that they built.
These are all centered pretty much around WordPress websites.
So they have wordpress.com,
which is like a blog and website builder that's free,
but they also have a lot of other different
what you would normally call plugins
and other services that go with building
a WordPress website.
So as far as the job that they have available,
they have a happiness engineer and customer support job here.
So that's what they call pretty much
all their base level customer support jobs here
is a happiness engineer.
So if you see that job here,
I would definitely pounce on that
because these can be popular.
If you have a background technical support,
customer success engineer,
or you're someone who cares deeply
about creating a great customer experience,
they'd love to hear from you.
So a typical day here,
you will work as part of their global team.
Again, this is another company that hires worldwide.
You'll assist a variety of customers via email, live chat.
They do say voice or video calls,
but in the past, they've mostly done
mostly like email and chat based support.
You'll go beyond the immediate question
to help customers succeed with products,
reach out to potential and existing customers
who learn about their goals,
problem solve, embrace change and learn new things,
and proactively recommend an idea
that will help the customer be more successful.
They're looking for people
who have experience in technical support,
engineering, or customer success.
If you have used WordPress before,
make sure to let them know
because that would be a big plus.
They want you to be a good communicator
as far as written and verbal.
You're an exceptional problem solver.
You value accountability
and are impeccable with their follow through.
You're adaptable, curious, and excited by change.
You care deeply about the customer experience.
And other than that, I mean,
a bonus skill would be you have experience
with e-commerce or setting up a business.
So an ideal candidate,
so this would be like some things
that maybe push you above some of the other candidates.
Experience as either a deep technical troubleshooter
or a customer success rep, something like that.
Experience creating and supporting WordPress websites
or you have experience in sales
or technical account management.
Salary range is up to $75,000 a year for this one.
So this is probably one of the highest paying jobs
on this list.
As far as the benefits you can expect here,
they do have a very nice list of benefits.
I like to recommend this company because of that
and because of their really good reviews
from their employees.
But professional development here,
they have a lot of benefits there.
They have some really nice wellness benefits.
Like for instance, they give you like a monthly subscription
to a mindfulness app.
Career coaching, parental leave is really good here.
They have up to six months fully paid.
Open vacation policy, there's no minimum or maximum.
Anniversary awards, once you've been there
for a certain amount of time,
they have different awards they give you
like headphones or a laptop or something.
A home office setup and coworking allowances.
Automatic stock that you can buy and sell.
Life insurance, that's company sponsored.
And they do really good compensation reviews
like every 12 to 18 months.
So you should get fairly frequent raises
if you are earning them at this company as well.
So as far as what's like to work here,
they have a 3.7 out of five star rating
and 64% recommend working here to a friend.
Benefit wise, a 4.8 out of five star rating,
which is obviously very, very good.
Interview wise, you have a 3.2 out of five
difficulty rating, which is fairly standard.
I would say maybe slightly above standard difficulty,
but 57% positive compared to 30% negative
is also a very good distribution
between positive and negative experiences interviewing here.
And again, this could pay up to 75,000 a year.
So next we have a company called Wild Alaskan Company.
This is a place where you can basically
buy like subscriptions of seafood.
So this is a place where they are looking
for a member experience specialist.
They typically hire in the United States
remotely for these types of jobs.
And with this company, so with this job,
this is another one, they do mention some phone calls,
but they also tell you that impeccable writing skills
are the main thing that they pride themselves on
at this company.
They typically do the vast majority of everything
via email, live chat, and they communicate with each other
via something called Slack, which is a common tool
that many companies use.
So in internal and external written communication
is kind of the backbone of their operations.
That's why I decided to include this job in here.
I think if you're interested in doing email support,
they do again, live chat, email, and phone.
But again, this is a company that puts extra emphasis
on written communication.
So I think this would be a job where you're going to spend
probably very little time on phone calls.
But you have all three, you maintain high satisfaction rate
from members and keep the first response time very quick,
assist members with inquiries concerning order issues,
cooking recipes, account management, and more.
You'll communicate with empathy
and always put the membership first,
report on member behavior and bugs
and generate content derived from anecdotes and analytics.
You also represent the company,
participate in continuous improvement
and weekly meetings and more.
So again, impeccable writing skills are very important.
Most companies that put an extra emphasis on writing
and not necessarily just general communication
are typically the ones that mostly do just chat and email.
Excellent relationship building skills is also important,
passion for helping people,
a track record of working in a high volume environment,
ability to solve problems
by thinking analytically and creatively.
By the way, when they say a track record
of working in a high volume environment,
it doesn't have to be related to this job.
They say it could literally be like tossing pizzas
if you worked for like Pizza Hut or something like that.
That would still count.
It's a high volume environment.
A high attention to detail
is also important in a team first attitude.
Nice to haves here,
previous employment in an e-commerce or food company,
familiarity with the latest e-commerce trends,
inbound sales experience,
and experience using customer support software
like Intercom, Aircall, and others.
They do say this pays about $35,000 a year,
but it also includes many different benefits
like insurance, 401k, up to 10 company holidays,
paid and sick time, vacation, parental leave, and more.
You're talking about a company
that should take pretty good care of you,
not the highest paying job in the world,
but it's also a job
that doesn't really require much to apply.
As far as what it's like to work here,
they have a 4.2 out of five star rating,
and they have 74% of people
recommend working here to a friend.
Benefit wise, you're looking at three different reviews here
all of which are very good,
a five, a five, and a four star rating here.
You also get a free box of fish,
which is a big plus if you like fish,
and you also get a family 50% off discount as well.
So again, when you see the zero for the average,
just disregard that.
Sometimes the average doesn't work on Glassdoor
for whatever reason.
Interview wise, 2.9 out of five difficulty
is pretty standard.
They do have a 71% negative score on here,
but they only have seven people
who have left reviews so far.
So usually when you look at reviews,
it's kind of like a rule of thumb
that either people had an amazing experience
or a terrible experience when they leave reviews.
That's usually how a lot of these go.
So right now they have some good reviews,
but they also have more bad reviews.
So if you look at everything else,
I think the other numbers tell you that it's a good company,
but you might wanna read through everything
just to make sure you know what you're getting into.
Last but not least, we have a company called Reconstruct Inc,
which is a company that deals with remote quality control,
progress monitoring, and facility assessment.
This is a company that has a customer support specialist
remote in the United States that is also full-time.
So it says, you will be owning all emails, requests,
and questions that come through the support channel.
So they tell you right up front, it's mostly email-based,
assessing each issue and understanding
where it should be escalated.
You also have performing minor maintenance
and correction tasks on the platform,
maintaining a fair understanding of Reconstruct
to troubleshoot things,
assessing and triaging hardware issues,
provide weekly updates to different people in the company,
provide beta testing,
and also update technical documentation as needed.
Skills required.
Now they do mention Zendesk.
Anytime you see Zendesk,
it's usually gonna be email marketing
or email support-based,
and that's usually what Zendesk is used for.
Excellent technical writing skills,
ability to manage and triage issues,
strong communication,
strong technical troubleshooting skills.
So they don't mention anything about phone calls
at all at this one.
So if you're 100% anti-phone call
and you're in the United States,
you might check this one first.
Reconstruct has a 3.5 out of five-star rating,
and as far as do people recommend working here,
about half of them do.
As far as the benefits,
they don't really have enough feedback yet
to draw a lot of conclusions.
Interview-wise, they only have three people
who have left reviews here.
2.3 out of five difficulty is pretty easy,
but it's 67% negative and the rest are neutral.
So you're looking at about 33% neutral or so.
That's a little bit worse than an average company.
Most companies are probably about 50% negative,
but it's not insanely terrible.
As far as the pay goes at this company,
you're looking for something like customer support.
I don't see customer support at this company right now
in terms of a review of how much it might pay,
but as far as what a typical
customer support specialist makes,
it's usually something like 45,600 a year
or something like that.
So hopefully this was helpful.
