AI GeneratedThe speaker documents a hectic work week as a new hire, balancing a demanding project with team leadership responsibilities. The narrative covers long office hours, the struggle to maintain social plans amidst back-to-back meetings, and the emotional process of leading a technical training session for senior engineers.
Good morning! It is the morning of day one on Monday. I finished Pickleball in the morning
and I am now at the office and I am in the bathroom and I checked all the stalls. They
are all empty don't worry and I'm going to start my day off with some breakfast so let's head over
to my desk. It is currently 8.05 p.m right now and I just wrapped up my work day. I decided to
stay late today because I am in the thick of a project and I wanted to wrap up some loose ends
and the goal is to deliver this project by the end of this week so timelines to be met and also
I had some one-on-ones scheduled from tomorrow after lunch to tomorrow morning and I just
wouldn't have had time to prepare for the meeting sufficiently if I waited till tomorrow to do that
so I decided to stay late tonight to do that hence why I'm still here at 8 p.m and the office be
looking completely empty but at least I get this incredible view. Let me show you. At least I get to
enjoy this but that wraps up my first day of work. I'm gonna stay at the office a little bit longer
to edit some content but then hopefully head home within the next hour but yeah I'll see you guys
tomorrow then.
I just finished back to back to back meetings and it's already 2 30 p.m and it was pretty
unfortunate because I actually had lunch plans with my friend and some other new grads. We wanted
to go to pop-up bagels to try the new cream cheese spread but it was sold out earlier today
and so they wanted to go to apollo bagels instead but then the wait was pretty long
and then I had a meeting right at 1 p.m so I decided to just dip and eat leftovers at the
office so that was just pretty unfortunate and yeah I didn't end up getting to have bagels or
hang out with them really and and then I just got stuck in a bunch of meetings and I had to eat my
leftovers while in the meetings and yeah it's been kind of hectic and I just have so much stuff to do
but it'll be okay so anyway I'm gonna go back to my desk now and try to have a productive rest
of my work day. I just wrapped up some pickleball and now I'm gonna do a quick upper body workout.
Let's go!
Oh yeah I still messed it up. Wait it's good, stop. That's a beautiful one.
It is currently 7 20 p.m and I heated up some leftovers to eat for dinner and I just finished
work and now I'm going to be editing some video content. I brought my personal laptop here and I
feel like it's a nice workspace to do some editing as well so switch in context a little bit
and let's edit some content before heading home.
So it is currently approaching 10 30 a.m and I am leading my team's training for internal
engineers who are getting started with our product. This is my second time leading it. The
first time I led it was actually during my first week as a full-time employee but honestly it has
been a few months since then so I'm sure it'll go smoothly but obviously you know pre-presentation
jitters and last time was for a group of interns and this time it's for senior engineers so I'm
just hoping the questions they ask me are not too bad. There's going to be like little breaks
during the presentation and I have picked Gracie Abrams new album to play in between so
that's my little personal touch as a Gen Z new hire. Okay it is now 11 22. I just finished leading
training. I just feel like okay it went okay. I'm overthinking everything that I did but it's okay
it went well. It's over now. I did a good job. Yes there are things that I could improve.
There were things out of my control. There are things that went not but there's no point in
overthinking it now. I'm just going to note down you know my takeaways, things I did well, things
that could be improved and I'll hear my manager out when he gives me feedback and I'll do better
next time and it'll be good. I'm not crashing out. We're good. Self-regulating, emotional regulation
is a thing that I am practicing. Maybe I'm like watching a video on like uh creamy clicks.
Eggs and toast and my yogurt bowl with coconut water. Coffee in yogurt bowl.
Matcha and watermelon.
There's four quarts. Yeah yeah 24 spots.
