How To Joust Like A Medieval Knight

My name is Sir Henry Sewell and I'm here to joust. Jousting is a sport and it's a sport that must be trained for daily. Jousting is the sport of kings. It's all about conquering fear. From my feet to my head I will be clothed in steel. And a champion knight needs a fine harness of armour. My harness fits me like a glove. And you need a horse like this. A medieval Destrier. The finest horse that Spain can produce. Wanted right around Europe for their strength, their beauty and their passion. Any man that can own a horse like this can own the joust. Horsemanship is the ultimate test of man and animal. And together they must be a team. It is a great honour for me to fight against my opponents. I will challenge them at any part of the country where we will hold these jousts. You need to be strong. Not only physically, but mentally. For it is what you do with your mind that makes you a winner. Jousting is the ultimate sport for anyone who is brave and proud enough to take a lance in their hands. You're not a duck. You cannot cower like a dog. Sit proud in your saddle and give yourself as a target. For speed is all important when riding in a joust. I and my opponents set off against each other at up to 30 miles an hour. Lowering our lances and breaking them against each other's armour. In our joust, each of the knights present will joust against each other. But who will win? Well, we are presided over by a knight marshal. And he in turn has two line marshals. They are the ones that watch where our lances strike our opponents and award points from where we strike upon the body. And we shall take your breath away with our theatre of our joust. For this is the time of the martial art. Where the sport of kings becomes real.
