So I saw a listing on Facebook Marketplace. A woman posted she has kind of like, it's like a
regular estate sale, but it's at her house. So you got to call her and see if you can come by.
And I saw a couple things in the photos. I'll show you what they are. And hopefully she still
has them. And then there was another listing on Facebook Marketplace for something at an
antique store that I want to see if they still have. I'm hoping I can get a good price on it.
It's for jewelry storage, or that's what I would use it for anyways, but it's so super adorable.
So come along with me and let's see. Hopefully they'll have what I'm looking for. I couldn't
resist popping into Savers on the way just to take a peek at their jewelry. The first thing
I looked at was hanging on one of these necks in the corner. And I think it was a little hidden.
And I only say that because it was the lowest priced 50% off color, which means it had been
there for about a week. It seemed like it was a pretty milfiori glass pendant, butterfly pendant,
and it got real interesting when I flipped it over. And I could see that it not only had the
925 mark, but it also had a really large maker's mark. I did a quick Google image in the store just
to see if it would bring up anything. And it did bring up some list prices, not sold comps. And
this let me see that it's by a maker named Alan Kay, and from there I could pull sold comps. So
milfiori, if you're not familiar with it, it's an Italian glass technique. It means thousand flowers,
and it is popular on the islands of Moreno where a lot of the glass making happens. So when I
searched this maker Alan Kay, I did find a Facebook page, but it looks like the company went out of
Let's see how it looks on my mannequin Evangeline. It is an Omega necklace, so it sits right there on
the collarbone. Both the necklace and pendant are stamped 925, and the pendant has the Alan Kay
maker's mark. To determine my eBay posting price, I looked at sold comps on his pendants. They didn't
have an exact match on that, but I also looked at sold comps on the Omega sterling necklaces.
So I'm going to start my eBay listing on this at $78, but I'm going to give my viewers a much
better price of $48. I did see they had some jewelry jars in the making, and I asked about
them, but they weren't ready yet. And I took a peek at the rings as well, and these rings, the ones
that were marked $29.99 were all sterling, but interestingly enough, this one that was marked
$49.99 had no markings and looked very costumed. So I'm not clear why they priced that one so high.
And then I spotted this little Native American pink Mother of Pearl sterling ring. It makes a
great little pinky ring or a child's ring because it's a size 3.75, but it's adorable. It is stamped
sterling, and I'm going to do $26 for my viewers. Okay, I am not finished jewelry thrifting. I did
go to one more thrift store, but in between I did go to this lady's house to check out her
appointment-only estate sale. Now these are the two things that really caught my eye in the listing.
These vintage porcelain lady's head planters do comp well, but she had already sold it. And the
other thing I saw was this mid-century modern glass genie bottle decanter, which is so fabulous.
And the woman who hosts the estate sale, there are a lot of different people that have their
stuff in there. So the lady who owns this decanter was pricing it at $80, and you can see by the
comps that's about what it sells for. So I had to pass on this one. So she didn't have any jewelry
out on this go-round, but she says there's a lady that has a lot of jewelry that needs to be gone
through, and I offered to sort it for her. So I left my number with her, and we'll see if she calls.
I hope she does. I did end up purchasing two things. One was for my personal collection. I do
collect bird things, little bird things, and I'll talk about that in a different video. But she had
quite a few little bird figurines, and so I ended up picking up this adorable little guy right there.
Isn't it so cute? That little bird made in USA Pottery. How adorable. And then the other thing I
saw, please tell me if you know what it is. She had some a perfume bottle, a crystal
doorknob or two, and then she had this glass. I think it's very light pink. Tell me if you guys
know what that is. I'll give you a moment. I knew exactly what it was when I saw it, but she wasn't
sure. That's why she had it flipped upside down. It is a vintage pocket or purse ashtray. And for
my viewers, I'm going to do $18 on this little pink glass ashtray. I want to show you one more
thing from this location before we move on to more jewelry thrifting. And it is something so
fabulous and so creative. So the lady who owns this home designed a pop-up book. It's a children's
book and it's music themed. Michelle was inspired by her son and her nephew to make this book
so that future generations would know who all these great musicians were. And it's fun and
interactive. So the kids really enjoy diving into this book. I'm going to put the link to
purchase this book in the comments. It's Michelle's website. And I think she also has a blog.
I do want to say this is not a sponsored video and I'm not making any money off the
sale of this book or featuring this book. So if you're purchasing this book via the link,
everything is going into Michelle's pocket. This is how she makes a living is selling this book.
So I just wanted to share it with you. I was so delighted by it. So I'm hitting the road again to
head to the antique store, which is several towns over. And on the way I stopped into this discovery
shop, which usually has pretty good jewelry. I did scoop up these earrings and the backs were
stamped 925 Mexico. So that was a good start. I couldn't read the little writing around it,
but I assumed it was probably Taxco. I did pay almost $20 for these earrings. And when I got
in the car, I thought, Ooh, am I going to be able to break even on these earrings? But when I got
home and I really studied the writing on these, which was a little hard to decipher, I discovered
that these are artist signed earrings. The artist is Brenda Schoenfeld. And I'm going to link this
article in the description. It's from D Magazine. And it's really interesting and tells of her
history. If you want to read it, I'll give you a quick little synopsis while we look at some sold
prices on her jewelry. She originates from Taxco, Mexico, from a family of artists and silversmiths
whose clients included Frida Kahlo and the Rockefellers. She opened her first boutique
in Dallas and it was opened from 1990 to 1995 when she moved to Italy. And she's lived in Italy
ever since, but has always kept her Taxco silver studio where she also makes silver home goods.
So she's always creating new pieces and having new ventures. It looks like the last place she
had was Brenda Schoenfeld now. And these are some pictures I pulled. And look how fabulous
these pieces are. I feel like she's the kind of person that you just have to catch her when she's
being creative. And she'll do a pop-up store and then it kind of goes away after a couple years.
And then she does something else. So getting back to the pair I have, here's a cleaned up picture
from an eBay listing of what the mark is supposed to look like. And if you notice there's a year on
there. My year is 1993 and she owned her first store, the one in Dallas, from 1990 to 1995.
So it's safe to say that these earrings were really her earlier pieces from that Dallas store.
Now I'm not positive if the stone is lapis or sodalite. If you guys can confirm, please put
it in the comments. Now I'm gonna do a higher eBay list price, but for my viewers I'm gonna do $75.
The other thing I got from this particular thrift shop is this fabulous cocktail ring.
I just love a good cocktail ring. And initially I thought this might have been a Kenneth Lane
because here are some eBay listings with Kenneth J. Lane rings that look almost identical to this
But mine's not stamped KJL. It has this particular maker's mark. It almost looks like a JC.
So I asked in one of my jewelry groups and they came back with this, Jewelry Concepts Inc., which
designs and manufactures jewelry. And interestingly enough, somebody also commented that they have
matching bracelets. The one on the left is KJL and the one on the right is Stella and Dot.
So even though this isn't a maker I recognize, it is a heavy quality well-made ring. And I'm
gonna do $29 for my viewers. We're gonna take a quick break for cats and then I'm gonna show
you one more jewelry piece and then I promise we're gonna move on to the antique store.
He, if you've seen my other videos, just loves my light box. He did come in with a little oil
stain on his nose today. So no telling what he's been up to. I did stop off in one more thrift
store and picked these up. I feel like these are real almost pumpkin-y or like they remind me of
gourds. And they are St. John. I find a lot of St. John at this particular thrift store and it always
sells well for me. So for these delicious St. John earrings with all the rhinestones intact,
they're super unique. I'm gonna do $38 for my viewers. And here we are at last at King
Richard's Antiques. You can tell by looking at the roof how huge this place is. It's multiple stories.
Look how adorable this bank of mailboxes is. Lots of sparkly things that we love.
There's another one of those porcelain lady heads that I was talking about earlier in the video.
I do love how someone took the time to make these little vignettes.
And this vendor has quite a bit of colored glass. I just love a good colored glass collection.
And then we move on to a lot of jade jewelry. I think I see some bakelite in there too and maybe
some amber. I could use this bodice. I didn't even really notice it until I watched this video back.
Here's a really beautiful Weller pitcher for I think it was $125. Be prepared to spend several
hours here. This place goes on and on and on and on. And I'm sure whatever it is you're looking for,
they'll probably have it. Here's what looks like a great vintage sewing basket. You can see
all of the little knobs where the spools go. And this is a very large jadeite bowl. I don't
know if I've ever seen a jadeite bowl quite this big before. I finally made my way down
to where the cabinet is that I came for. You can see it there in the back. Now what I did was,
because I first saw this listed on Marketplace with a referral to this antique store,
I had messaged the person who posted it. And she wasn't in the store, but I made her an offer
over messenger and she accepted my offer. What I love about this is it has these kind of old
tiny sliding drawers. I think it was used for like papers and files, but it's really just perfect for
jewelry storage. I can pull the drawers out easily. I can see whatever jewelry I have in there.
I can put little labels on there and I can even store some things below. So it's so perfect for
me. This is exactly what I had envisioned for this piece of furniture. A great place to store
jewelry where all of it is really visible. I'm so happy with this piece. If you like any of the
jewelry that you're seeing right now, just drop me a line and I can give you a price on it. Otherwise
the pieces will be in future videos. Thanks for joining me today. If you like what you're seeing,
