The Padres are up three runs over the Dodgers.
It's the bottom of the ninth.
This girl's hitting her dad with the towel, having some fun.
That fan is letting the Dodgers know, let's go, let's do it, let's do it.
Because if the Padres win this game, they clinch a postseason berth.
This breakdown is brought to you by T-Mobile, the official 5G
innovation partner of Major League Baseball.
Let's get into it.
Suarez for the Padres, been struggling.
That pitch is 99 miles per hour, but it's hit right to the outfield.
Dodgers have a leadoff runner and they're dancing, just a half dance.
Next batter, 100 miles per hour.
It doesn't matter.
He's going to put that one into the outfield.
Tatis cuts it off, but it's going to be first and third.
And the Dodgers got some mojo going.
Next batter, two strikes, 100 mile per hour pitch.
Breaks the bat, but scores a run.
It's a two run game now.
Uh, and they're dancing.
And Suarez is thinking, oh man.
The pitching coach comes out and as the pitching coach is coming out,
look at all the taps.
Higgy's getting them right on the chest, patting them, Solano's
patting them on the back.
And then you got Cronenworth coming up.
He's gonna start punching his butt a little bit.
Like, dude, we gotcha.
Don't even worry about it.
Coach says, hey dude, why don't we just roll the three ball?
Higgy's like, oh, oh yeah.
Special play on.
Let's do it.
Miggy Rose at the plate, rubbing the ball up, but guess who's lingering on deck?
Oh, it's that guy.
And he's feeling good.
He's feeling real good.
Cause the Dodgers have 39 comeback wins this season.
And since June 13th, they have 26, which is the most in major league baseball.
And Shohei is just kind of nodding to the fans here, like going to be fun.
Going to be fun.
Oh yeah.
Look what I'm going to do.
Okay.
Yep.
Put these guys in scoring position, Miggy, because I'm going to have some fun.
First pitch.
Rojas shows bunt, which would be a great call, but pulls it back.
It's strike one.
That would have been a great call because we take the out at first and you put the
tying run on second base by moving them over.
Now they're corners in, which is they think the bunt might come, but the wheel
plays not on.
Bogarts goes to second.
So no one's covering third here.
So if he got that bunt down, Cronenworth probably going to beat him to the bag at
first over there, but no one was at third covering.
Bogarts was going to second.
So it would have been second and third with Otani coming up, but the bunt doesn't
get down.
Now, what does that do for the Padres?
Well, this is where their defense was lined up on the bunt pitch, the first
pitch of the at bat.
Now watch, I'm going to overlay and transition to the next pitch and you can
see the slight changes.
All right.
Well, you got both corner infielders are more in, they're more, they're just a
little more ready for the bunt on the second pitch.
Manny's a step in, Solano's like two or three steps in.
And then at second, Cronenworth is way closer to the bag now.
See, he's right there on the bag at second where he was over there before.
Reason being, he wants that runner to stay close to second because they want to get
him out at third.
So if, if Cronenworth's holding them on, like they might throw a pickoff, then
he's going to stay closer to second base.
So that puts him closer to second base for maybe a triple play, if that's what
happens.
Well, the next pitch, Miggy doesn't bunt it.
They took the bunt off.
It's a real hot shot to third.
That's one.
That's two.
We're getting three.
Division clinching triple play.
Yeah.
Oh, wow.
Higgy is excited.
Ooh, look at the Dodgers fans in the background.
How many hands on heads?
You got one guy here, hands on his heads.
And then up here, a guy hands on heads.
And as we, as we just go through this shot, you're just going to see so many
fans.
Now look at this crew.
Another, another down here.
This girl's got one hand.
Oh, these two guys, hands on heads.
And the Dodgers fans were just like, what?
Uncool.
Not cool at all.
Look at this.
You got more hands on heads over here.
You got this guy's hands are just way up in the air.
Shohei was on deck.
What happened?
Oh, they're excited.
Yeah.
And then the fans.
These are some of my favorite, that German word, schruden fruit.
I don't think that's it.
Shots.
This guy's going straight YouTube thumbnail face.
No way.
And then we look, this is so funny.
This dude is burying his head in his hands and the woman and the man in front
of him are consoling him immediately, immediately knew.
Oh man, we got to console him.
Oh no.
While laughing at his despair.
Look at him sink into his hands.
And look at the woman just laugh.
Oh, and she's pointing at him.
Oh, she's pointing at him and laughing at him.
She Dodgers fan too, but not as big as him, I guess.
And then I love this.
I love Manny getting all that corner worth.
Fuck yeah, dog.
Yeah.
Fuck yeah.
And Manny looks around.
Ooh.
Outfield comes in, they're all pumped up.
And then Machado turns, sees the pitcher Suarez.
He says, you like that?
We got you, baby.
Yeah.
Oh, you gotta love it.
We got you, baby.
Come here.
We got you.
Don't sweat it.
Triple play.
All you do is roll that three ball.
Like coach said, whoa, challenging.
What are they challenging?
Oh, all three plays are getting challenged.
That makes sense.
Why would you choose to just challenge one?
I'd love to look at all three plays.
Here we go.
Manny's in because he was worrisome about the bunt.
Hot shot to him, grabs it, gets the ball out.
He's ready to fire.
He's got the grip in his hands.
He found the laces.
Now any ball player can do that, but it's still so cool to see just
that's how they grab the ball right away.
And with the ball in hand, he goes to the bag, looks at the bag,
stares at it once he knows, okay, I'm going to step on it.
You can see him use the glove to pat the ball, to get that grip,
make sure it's firm turns and just fires a bullet strike out at second,
out at third, confirmed out at second confirmed.
And because Kike wanted to be safe, he didn't like do a breakup slide.
Cause you're not thinking triple play.
Anyway, he did everything right.
He wants to be safe there, but he's not getting big.
He's getting down and quick and, you know, aerodynamic, which
allows Cronenworth to fully fire over.
There's a lot of space up above and he does that follows
through and out at first triple play.
Confirmed.
Unbelievable.
Here's how fast it happened in live time.
Bam.
One, two, three, four and a half seconds after review.
After replay review, all three outcalls are confirmed.
The game is over.
My favorite umpire announcement, face and tone.
We've had eyes get big.
The game is over and then they mob Manny for making that play because
that is an insane play to make.
And congrats to him.
