Opossums Bí ẩn loài vật có thể sử dụng đuôi như tay cầm

Opossums là loài thú có túi thuộc bộ Didelphimorphia, là loài đặc hữu của châu Mỹ. Đây là bộ thú có túi lớn nhất ở Tây bán cầu, với 126 loài trong 18 chi. Chúng xuất phát từ Nam Mỹ và lan sang Bắc Mỹ sau khi hai lục địa này kết nối.

Ở Hoa Kỳ và Canada, loài opossum Virginia là duy nhất và thường được gọi đơn giản là “opossum” hoặc “possum”. Trong khi đó, ở Úc, các loài thú có túi sống trên cây thuộc phân bộ Phalangeriformes cũng được gọi là possum, nhưng thuộc bộ khác. Opossums thường hiền lành và hiếm khi mang vi-rút dại.
