Welcome back guys to the channel I'm Alfredo and today we are here with the one and only
Real Madrid and England superstar Jude Bellingham Jude how are you doing Very good thank you
It's an absolute pleasure to have you with us today My pleasure my pleasure So I wanted to
start today by asking you about life in Madrid You've been here for over six months now moral
What's the city like the climate the food how are you finding it I think it's really relaxed
The people are very kind and loving You know here they put footballers on a pedestal they 're
like kind of superhumans and they really do try very hard to make you feel comfortable
and make you feel welcome For someone like me it helps a lot you know coming from Birmingham
and then to Dortmund it's different from what I'm used to in terms of that feeling of playing for
such a massive club and being kind of under the spotlight so intensely So the people around the
City they make it quite easy Amazing and how's your Spanish coming along It's getting better
Doing a couple of classes a week the teacher is really good so yeah slowly getting better
but no interviews in Spanish They'll come they'll come So new club obviously means new
teammates is there anyone in particular you've really been able to connect and bond w
since you've joined I think it's hard to pick just one you know because we have so many
A young team we're so similar in age and interests that we do quite a lot of things together
Together you know sometimes it will be as a group and sometimes individually I think you
Know we get on really well and we go out quite a lot and do things together so that's really
Nice But you know you also have the support from the older guys like Alaba and Rudiger
Tony Luka is obviously so it's really nice to have that balance of kind of experience and that
like the youthfulness in the changing room so yeah it helps us a lot All you guys come from
Brazil France England how do you all communicate A mix of like Spanglish strange French
Portuguese there's a whole range of different languages there I think we're just making it up
It's funny at this point You get to the point Yeah it's funny to watch them
Try and speak English Amazing And have you also felt an instant connection with the Real Madrid
fans Because from the outside it certainly seems like they adore you I mean that banner las
Night says it all Yeah definitely I think you know my first three games were all away from home
Home and I did feel like there was a bit of a commotion about seeing me at home and everything
and I was so excited to just go out there and do my thing at the Bernabeu so
Yeah I think it's nice that the fans appreciate the kind of work I do It's just me trying
To do my best for the team but it feels amazing you know Like I said coming to a new country
It's nice to have that supportive element from people whether I'm walking in the street or in the
Stadium I do feel really loved and you know I try and give it back with my efforts on the pitch
That relationship is strengthened when you're scoring every week
Yeah that helps yeah definitely I think you know and I knew
Coming here I could do my stuff with you know much more experienced and accomplished
players and to learn from them every day makes me a better player Of course Is there anyone
In particular who have you really learned from I think Tony and Luka are probably the two most
They're just playing a different game than the rest of us really They see things before they happen
e pitch and always seem so calm Technically they won't really make any mistakes doing the
basic things unbelievably well And I think the best part about kind of playing with them and
Being teammates with them is that they're always open to kind of teaching you You know I'm always
Open to learning and if I can get 1% off them every single day then I'm going to do it You know
I speak to both of them quite often I have a good relationship with both of them so it's really something
Nice They're two great role models to have really Exactly great professionals as well
They take really good care of themselves you know Tony is 34 and Luka is 38 and they're still playing
e way they are at this level it's more than just luck or talent or skill It's the work you do
Put in behind the scenes as well And in terms of your performance you've scored an incredible
number of goals this season How has it been playing in a more advanced role with more responsibility
Attacking freedom How have you found it Yeah I've really enjoyed it actually I was at Dortmund
For three years The first year I played more like a six and then the last two were more like an eight
and this year it's been like a ten I think people are trying so hard to put a stamp on it
It's something they really want to call it but I think it's just a free roaming midfielder
Really Whenever I play the manager tells me my responsibilities off the ball and defensively
but then with the ball he kind of just says go and be free If there's space behind
go in behind When you want to come to feet and take people on do that If you want to drif
wide and it suits my game well because when I play off the cuff I think I'm more dangerous
I can be more creative with the things I do and harder to play against Sometimes when you're
Playing deeper it's kind of hard to get into the box as frequently as I have this year It's
Just adding different things to my game being able to do as much predicate as possible I think that's
The most important thing You look at our team now you have players all over the pitch You
can play in several positions so that's really important for team depth and especially whe
You go into big games it's important I was going to ask you if you've had any challenges
Playing closer to goal To be fair there's always some It's difficult getting used to the
defensive side because sometimes the shape changes with and without the ball so there's
Little things that you have to be aware of People kind of say that it's lucky about sometimes
how the ball drops to me I always tell people while other people make maybe five runs into
e box and don't get any and say oh I'm so unlucky I'm the kind of person who makes 30
runs in the box and gets one so really my odds are a lot smaller than everyone else's I jus
Keep going with it and maybe it's luck but I don't think luck over and over again is actually luck
Yes I think Thomas Muller and Frank Lampard might have something to
say about that Players like that yes definitely Gerrard getting into the box It's such a satisfying
Feeling I know I'll get caned for scoring easy goals but I love那么容易 It's the idea
It's quite satisfying because no one could have been there at that moment and they weren't
With all these goals I have to ask about the celebration How did it come about
To be fair I've always done it since I was a kid really playing in the academy in Birmingham
It was just something I did I just kind of stood still stuck my arms out and did it in the first
Team for one of my first couple of goals It just felt quite natural really It feels like something
That is an easy way to interact with fans I know there are mes about it now and it's jus
Such an easy way to kind of include people in the game I think it's something where people
come to games hoping to see it and I do feel that expectation sometimes but it's really
Nice in the moment when I can score and I do it and it feels so good It feels like you're
It's about owning the moment and it's like a connection between yourself and the fans so it's really nice
Real Madrid has one of the greatest and most famous stadiums in world football Can
you give us an idea of what a Champions League night is like at the Bernabeu
I feel like the Champions League is almost Madrid's competition It's like
I wouldn't say it's the be-all and end-all but it's the main focus of the season about how Madrid ca
To be in the best position possible to win the Champions LeagueBeta I think that's what all
the fans are looking at every year so there is an extra expectation a bit of extra excitement
the games Obviously I've only played one game and the knockout was a tough one bu
Yeah they had the choreography behind the goal and everything like that and you know you're in
For a really big game and how much it means to the fans These are the games you love to play
In so it's important that you kind of savor the moment instead of letting it get too big
Do you always feel like it's a different kind of pressure in the Champions League
Yeah I feel like it's a bit more ruthless the Champions League I've felt that since I've
I played in it from when I was kind of like a kid in Dortmund It's like a feeling where
You know if you're not on it you can be out in a split second and because the players have
So much quality that you're playing against the oppositions are different There's that
feeling of almost cautiousness because you don't really know exactly with the players
You know what to expect but it's definitely more the games are more enjoyable
because they definitely feel like at times they're on a bit of a knife edge and it can go either way
So it's really really good really fun And your first Champions League goal for Real Madrid
They came against Union Berlin in the last minute What did that mean to you How did that feel
Yeah it was really nice Obviously knowing the history like we've been saying the club w
e competition makes it extra special when you can prove that you can do it in that competitio
and so far I've had a good year in the Champions League so yeah it's about just trying
To come back from this little break and you know go into the next rounds firing
So a special moment for you at Real Madrid but what has been your favorite moment of the
Champions League this year So that's something you've done the team has done
I think it's just the idea of winning all six games you know because we've had so many injuries
We've had suspensions and things like that and you know it's like it sounds like an
Excuse me sometimes when people say I did but it really does take its toll on the team It's not
You've got to think it's not just the players who miss the games it's the kind of extra
The weight it puts on those who are playing because they have to play more often and play well
until the end so the games are so difficult that you're never really sure what you're going to ge
Trying to make it to the quarterfinals so far with all the injuries
We've had something really impressive so yeah we've got to keep going I thought you were going
To say the goal against Napoli Yeah I think that would be it if I had to pick one moment
You know it's always a better feeling to win for the team you know what I mean but I think
Yeah that's probably one of my best goals since I've been at Madrid at that stadium
I think the man would be looking down very proudly Yeah smiling I think So for you is
the Champions League the ultimate trophy to win in European football I think so yeah
I think it's the pinnacle of football It's just so iconic so prestigious the moments
at have happened in it I think you go into every game hoping you kind of get one of those
moments where you can just help the team win and they always feel a bit more special in the
Champions League and luckily for me I have some teammates who have been quite successful
it So yeah they were great role models for me to learn from and just trying to follow
Their footsteps really And was it a dream you had growing up of lifting that trophy Definitely
I think it's a competition you watch from as soon as you're into football really I think
It's the most enjoyable because like I said you get used to watching when you're younger
for example only English football and then you get to see these teams from Germany
You get to see the team from Italy and Spain You think wow so much talent and you always
Think if I can beat all these teams you really are kind of the best team in the world and
it's definitely one that I've always wanted Watching the finals with my brother was probably
The highlight at times of the season So yeah at some point I really want to get my hands on it
Well that was what I was going to ask next Are there any
moments from when you were growing up in the Champions League that really stand out to you that you're watching
To be fair there's always something every year isn't there really where you have those
Moments Like I said you get those iconic moments as a kid You always remember where
You were when you were watching them You could go through every year really It always felt
a bit more closer to home when the English teams were doing it just because obviously that's
Where were from watching it So that was always nice to kind of see them go through and
kind of compete in the later rounds But yeah I think there's been a load of classics
Games I think Madrid recently with the three-peat was probably the most impressive though
I think the amount of times that they've kind of gone down in games and came back and
Ronaldo seemed to make a big impact I think there's also a difference in watching it as a fan
en getting to see how some of the players are It makes you kind of appreciate more how muc
Pressure is really on them and how they've done so well to handle it So yeah
I think in recent years I think that's obviously the most impressive thing
Jude brilliant It's been an absolute pleasure Thank you very much
