So we're here with Jackie Smith, and she's a delegate for California's 3rd District.
Tell me a little bit about the energy here today.
It's amazing.
I mean, the women are coalescing around this.
This is called the Unity Banner, so that's why we're having everybody sign it.
And it's something that people can do grassroots, and then women are fired up and ready to go
because when women fight, we win.
It's not just everybody.
It's women are coming out full force on this one.
There was a lot of great women who spoke last night.
You know, Hillary Clinton, Kamala Ladd.
Who stood out to you?
What did you take?
Well, both.
I mean, Kamala coming out, and then Hillary gave that dynamic, fantastic speech.
And I just was crying because I went to five states for her, and we fought really hard.
And so for those of us that are old campaigners that went for her, we're out in full force
now and we ain't going to let...
She made a million cracks in that glass ceiling, and Kamala's going to break right through
And I apologize.
I'm really tired.
But you know, Tim Walz says, you can sleep when you're dead.
I'm pushing 70, so this is a job, but it's worth every bit of it.
And how does the energy this year compare with 2016?
It's similar, but it's more.
It's intense because it's short window.
Before we had a primary.
This is like, I told my girls, I said, you better start making banners.
We have to make lots of them.
And so we did.
We made 54.
I brought to Chicago.
We made 100 templates.
So they'll go across the United States.
And then Gen Zers are fired up because this is their chance to change, to make the world
a better place.
And this is our, this is our, like Hillary said last night, this is our moment.
And we, this generation, this is our moment.
And we have to stand up for it.
