Hit your single hander more like Stan and make more winners off your backhand from the back of the court. All you have to do is follow these key steps.

1. Use a modern version of the eastern backhand grip by placing the heel pad of your palm on bevel 8 and the base knuckle of your index finger between bevels 1 and 2.

2. Add a slight loop to your take back, but remain relatively level with the ball to maintain a flatter swing path.

3.Fully uncoil at the hips even slightly past centre to fully commit to the shot. Stretch your chest and squeeze your shoulder blades together without forcing your non hitting arm too far back behind you. This will allow you to uncoil aggressively into your forward swing.

4. On wide balls, utilise a closed stance and have your back leg carry threw to allow yourself to open up on the shot and still get the desired power.
