Chateau Wallpaper Transformation | French Chateau Renovations #49

[Music] this week we paint and wallpaper our Nursery moldings and we explore provance with my [Music] grandmother when Dy and I started this project we wanted to do it on the cheap basically because this is the smallest room in the Chateau we were trying to use materials that we had try to recycle that have just been laying around so that we can like not throw things away and be wasteful and the colors are not no this this paint when it's wet looks like a nice pistachio green when it's dry it looks lime GRE puke Li stop saying puke puke is gross and it doesn't look like puke it looks lime green it's the lime that we don't like it looks like mint toothpaste no mint toothpaste is nice whatever this color is it's not good [Music] Bigfoot I'm pretty sure I saw him one time when I was backpacking [Music] okay so what is this snail juice that you're applying we're just applying the glue so that we can put some wallpaper on but because these are external walls and they do get quite a bit of humidity we are putting like a waterproofing humidity proofing layer first that will help the wallpaper not bubble if we do get humidity during the winter which is pretty much a given yeah cool good [Music] [Applause] y the sky is on [Music] fire oh the ocean yet to cross I'm so tired I'm so tired waiting wa the sky is on [Music] fire that's nice that's really [Music] sweet not bad [Music] kiss Chase Kick the Can long ways from machine tell High why put me [Music] down the sky is on [Music] fire oh the oceans yet to gross so tired so tired waiting waiting for the B to drop the kiss Chase Kick the Can long way [Music] this is why it's important not to throw away your scraps until the very end because this piece fits almost perfectly we really wanted to do something that was a little art noo but still cute for nursery space and this wallpaper was just the perfect fit for that we found a really nice yellow paint for the walls that'll match the flowers perfectly and I think it'll just make the space more harmonious because the neon white is a little intense now yeah it's like a dentist office yeah what's this paint color called beige Dune beige Dune mhm so now this Nursery room can be called a racus every time a baby cries will scoop up their tear and be like don't waste the water [Music] when we came in here with the old paint I walked in and immediately I was like I don't feel good about what we've done no me neither but now I'm like I want to show everybody what we've done yeah what's the point of renovating if you're not going to do something that you're going to be in love with every summer my grandmother leaves Paris to visit the south of France and she always invites us to join her this year we plan to visit a few new Villages along the way so the three of us and our cat Charlie packed into her little French car for a beautiful drive through Prov don't know what to expect but wan to get it right I just wanna be happyy with me oh oh oh [Music] oh one of the first things you'll see when driving through poal are the incredible Lavender Fields there are over 60,000 Acres of Lavender in this region alone I'm just realizing yeah how many bees I thought they were flies I've been swatting them off this whole time but we're standing in a field not just of lavender but a field of bees they're making honey that's the lavender honey that you [Music] left we continued up the mountain to a place called t t also known as The Village in the [Music] sky [Music] wow we made it to T we are 3,000 ft in elevation and we've been driving uphill for a really long time and I wasn't totally sure our car was going to make it no [Music] [Applause] it's like a cat doesn't like water it's a very Charming little town though beautiful beautiful [Music] views so we finally made it to almost the top and I haven't been able to find it but somewhere there's a moon door that lady Lia likes to use for her victims but uh the area is actually owned and run by John Aaron who uh unfortunately has been slain and we believe it's by the Lannisters but we're not entirely sure there's not enough evidence yet [Music] getting there Charlie we're almost there [Music] Charlie our next Landmark is the beautiful goo a massive Lake surrounded by Cliffs we were excited to Voyage up the river but my grandmother decided to pass on the adventure there's a few pedestrians in the road yes Mo around it's actually just like driving in [Music] Paris I'm pushing 100% to the right right now I believe you're pushing 100% I don't believe you're pushing to the right cuz we are going straight into oncoming traffic who needs a gym when you can just drive several hours to the south of France and rent a boat for an hour we do that 10 to 12 times a week and you'll get ripped we continued driving into the Alps of pral until we finally reached the village nestled between two large rock formations mus Samari [Music] musier is listed as one of the most beautiful Villages of France and it's easy to see why with stunning views and a natural river that runs through the center of town it feels like something out of a fairy tale mus Samari has a pretty sweet tradition they actually have been hanging a star at the top of their town for centuries now and it is in the name of a crusader who they've vowed that if the Crusader came back to the town that they would put a star in his name and they've been holding this tradition since the early 1200s [Music] [Applause] [Music] every week The Village hosts a market with local produce and provincial crafts the mountain goat cheeses and fresh olives are too good to pass [Music] up the cute little store fronts carry artisanal Ceramics made from traditional methods using Earth stone and [Music] [Music] wood the local antique shops also had a few surprises [Music] what did you find Ian okay well I got a set of 12 like 1950s French espresso mugs pretty cool those are great and the best part a vintage french comic with the X-Men and what's great they don't call it Marvel Comics they call it strange strange Comics he just gave this to me for free that's [Music] awesome we finally made it to our last stop on the French Riviera [Music] swimming in the Mediterranean Sea is something my grandmother and I look forward to throughout the year it's our most cherished time together [Music] thank you for
