The Château de Menthon Saint Bernard

The castle of Menthon-Saint-Bernard is located in the French department of Haute-Savoie in the commune of Menthon-Saint-Bernard. Its stone towers dominate, from a 200 meter high rock, Lake Annecy and the protected reserve of Roc de Chère, between the teeth of Lanfon and Mont Veyrier. Built as a spur on a rocky cone at an altitude of 600 meters, the fortified house originally monitored the road from Bluffy to Menthon. Menthon Castle is said to have inspired Walt Disney for his drawing of La Belle au Bois castle Sleeping…so wake up, we’re going to look for him!!!
