because you can dress them up, dress them down, they work for workwear,
date night, daytime, everything.

So in today's video we are doing my 10 piece spring capsule wardrobe.
I'm going to work through this like a checklist of my key basics
that I recommend that everyone has.
But with each recommendation you can tailor it to your specific needs
because of course everyone's wardrobe is different,
everyone's needs are different for their clothing.
So I will give my recommendations and my personal top picks
and I will also give some other options in the description below.
If anything is sold out I will leave similar items in the description below
and I will also include any discount codes that I have
and you'll be delighted that I have a really great discount code for you guys today.
So without rambling on too much let's get in to my 10 piece spring capsule wardrobe.
Item number one in your capsule spring wardrobe is going to be a cropped jacket.
By the time spring rolls around I want shorter coats,
I want shorter lengths, it just feels way more spring-esque
especially if you're living in the UK and Ireland
and you're dealing with weather that we're dealing with.
When we can wear crop jackets we want to wear them.
You can pick what works best for you.
I tend to really love a cropped trench.
My favourite one is my Arquette short trench, you've probably seen me mention it before.
It's a great buy, it comes in every single year,
really, really easy to style, really minimal, really neutral.
If you wanted something similar,
Marks and Spencer this year have released their version of the cropped jacket.
It's very similar, I have not purchased that so I don't know what the quality is like
but M&S quality is usually pretty good.
Another cropped jacket that I tend to wear a lot in spring are the cropped boucle jackets.
They're so smart, they're so chic
and they're a very timeless piece.
They've definitely been very popular recently
but they're a classic style that has been around for decades and decades
so I feel like investing in something like that is a good shout.
I love my Sandra one, I bought it on sale, I think it was like last winter nearly,
unfortunately it's sold out but I will link some similar ones below.
There are some great versions on the high street,
I'll show some of them here on screen and they will be linked below.
I would probably wear my trench coat more in early spring
and then as it gets a little bit warmer my cropped little boucle jackets I would wear more
but that would be my first recommendation to go for a nice chic cropped jacket.
I would go for a neutral colour, just something that goes with the rest of your wardrobe
so looking at tans, beiges, blacks, greys, browns,
something that's going to be really versatile will probably suit you the best.
So my next recommendation in your spring capsule wardrobe
is a tailored trouser in a lighter colour.
You'll definitely have heard me recommend tailored trousers in my roundups before,
I see them as one of the most versatile pieces because you can dress them up,
dress them down, they work for work wear, date night, daytime, everything.
In spring I highly recommend a lighter coloured tailored trouser.
This is because at this time of year it is just so nice to wear lighter colours,
whether it's a cream or an off-white, beiges, pale greys,
they just look so chic and they really lift everything in your wardrobe.
So the one that I recommend and the one that I've been wearing the most I have here
and it is this beautiful tailored pair of silk trousers.
They're in a pale grey colour but actually to the naked eye I do think they look cream.
They really are very easy to style with darker colours, with blacks,
but they look great with tans, neutrals, whites.
These are from LilySilk.
If you guys have seen any of my capsule wardrobe you'll know I'm a big fan of LilySilk
and it's because the quality of their fabrics and their materials is fantastic
and they offer them at a really, really good price
and I have an extra 20% discount code that you guys will be able to use on LilySilk.
I do believe it works with other offers
so you can kind of double up on your discounts which is even better
but these trousers are absolutely gorgeous.
It's the really nice thick waistband.
It's so chic and tailored.
You've got belt loops so you can add in your belts.
Beautiful wide leg cut.
You just look really, really smart.
This is a pair of trousers that you can easily wear into work
especially if you were having like client meetings or important days
and you wanted to dress up.
They look great dressed up for the evening as well.
There's something about a chic pair of like white cream off-white tailored trousers
that is just impossibly chic.
I love it and you'll see that the fabric is just so luxurious looking.
It's made from a premium mulberry silk
and what I love about LilySilk as well is a lot of their fabrics are responsibly sourced
and made which is really, really nice.
So the next item I recommend in your spring capsule wardrobe is a cardigan
and that's because springtime is all about layering.
The temperature can be really, really changeable
and I feel like it is a trickier time to dress
and that's where cardigans come in to save us.
The one that I'm going to recommend is this beautiful striped merino wool cardigan.
This is again by LilySilk and as I said it's from merino wool.
It's really beautifully made.
It has a nice bit of warmth to it but it is quite light on the skin.
I honestly feel like stripes for spring are the new florals for spring
and you heard it here first because I actually haven't heard anybody else say that
but it is a theory that I'm thinking about.
You just see them as being this really chic easy to style detail
that people are including in their wardrobes.
When you pick something like a striped cardigan you're getting two pieces in one.
This looks beautiful worn with a pair of tailored trousers
for a little bit of a dressier vibe
but it also looks gorgeous dressed down with a pair of blue denim jeans.
What I also love about cardigans like this is you can easily wear them knotted over your shoulder.
It's a really easy way to add that little pop of stripes to your look
without doing a full stripe.
The quality of this one is fantastic and LilySilk do really great knits.
This one that I'm wearing here is probably my favourite knit in my entire wardrobe.
It's their silk cashmere blend knit.
It's so good.
I will link this below as well because this would be a great knit for springtime as well
but I do think if you're looking to really pick a piece that has multiple elements in one
I think going for a striped cardigan
because you're just going to have even more ways to wear it.
The next item I recommend in your spring capsule wardrobe is your classic knit
and alongside your cardigan
I do think these pieces are so important to keep you warm in spring
but also keep you looking chic.
So I mentioned this knit which I do absolutely love
and would be a great knit for spring
because it's very light very breathable
but I'm also going to show you this gorgeous cashmere knit.
I feel like t-shirt knits are such a great option for spring
and we can often forget about them.
They give this gorgeous t-shirt silhouette.
It's so simple, it's so chic, it always looks elegant
but the cashmere material is going to keep you so soft and so comfortable.
The great thing about good quality cashmere is that it's really breathable
so it not only keeps you cool in the heat
but it keeps you warm in the cold as well.
This just feels so good on the skin, it's so nice
and this beautiful kind of rusty tan color is a neutral
that I know I'll be able to wear with so many different things.
It looks great paired with these silk trousers
but again it also looks good with just a pair of blue denim jeans.
So speaking of t-shirt cuts, the next item that I have to recommend
in your spring capsule wardrobe is your classic t-shirt.
I won't spend too much time on this
because guys I have mentioned the classic tee so many times on my channel
so I feel like if you've been here before you'll have heard about this.
They are such a foundation in your wardrobe
and there's two different ones that I recommend.
So you have the Arquette Heavyweight Tee
which is slightly boxier, slightly more oversized.
It's a thick fabric so it's not see-through at all.
It's got a nice bit of weight to it.
Highly recommend that one.
But there's another one that I recommend and it's the Cos Clean Cut Tee
and it's the one that I'm wearing underneath this knit.
It has a really nice neckline which is perfect for wearing under knits.
It also looks great on its own.
It also has weight to the material, not see-through.
The Arquette Heavyweight is typically more oversized.
The Cos one is still oversized but not quite as much.
They do have a slightly different fit and I tend to chop and change between them.
So now we're moving on to some bottoms
and the next item that I recommend for your spring capsule wardrobe
is a satin midi or maxi skirt.
They look so elegant and so chic especially in spring and summer.
So the one that I'm going to show you is this beautiful silk maxi skirt from LilySilk.
This is just so elegant and so feminine.
A gorgeous piece to style for this time of year.
Like with a lot of my capsule wardrobe pieces that I recommend,
you can dress this up and down.
It definitely is more of an elegant and dressier piece.
It looks absolutely beautiful paired with a silk top
and you'll see here I have it paired with this beautiful silk cowl neck top
in the same colourway.
This is also by LilySilk.
What's great when you wear these together is that it gives the effect of a dress.
It's so gorgeous but you can easily break them up and wear them separately as well.
If you wanted to wear this day to day,
this would look absolutely beautiful with the striped cardigan.
It's going to look great with your cropped jacket.
You can wear it with a simple t-shirt, tank tops, sandals.
It really works coming into the warmer, warmer months
but it is a great one to wear at this time of year in spring as well.
So in terms of colours, I think this cream colour is so perfect
but I would also really recommend a darker colour like a black.
It's just going to be so timeless and so easy to style as well.
The next item I recommend in your capsule spring wardrobe is a great pair of jeans.
For me, I would recommend something slightly cropped in a bluer denim wash
but if you much prefer a longer length denim, if you love a wide leg denim,
that's totally fine.
Go for the jeans that work for you.
What I'm loving wearing and styling at the moment are my Arquette rose cropped jeans.
The blue wash on these is chef's kiss.
It's so good.
It's that kind of indigo colour that is very popular at the moment.
We're seeing so much of it.
It looks so chic.
Really, it is quite a timeless jean style
and I think that this type of blue denim works really well with darker colours
as well as it does with lighter colours which makes it even more versatile.
I actually have these exact pair in the ecru kind of off-white colour as well.
I wear both of these jeans so much but especially at this time of the year,
I will always come back to them because they always look so good.
Then speaking of denim, the next item I recommend for your spring capsule wardrobe
is a good denim midi skirt.
This is something that is actually surprisingly easy to style.
I would recommend going in maybe an alternate wash to what you're going for in your jeans.
So if you're doing a blue denim in your jeans,
you could maybe do a lighter denim in your midi skirt or a darker denim or a cream
and it just gives you more styling options and more colourways to play with.
I picked this up on River Island.
I'm not sure if it's still available but I will link it below if it is
but I know that places like Arquette do them all year round and they have great quality denim.
The jeans that I just showed you are from Arquette.
They do fabulous denim so I think that would be a great one as well.
So the next item that I'm going to recommend in your capsule spring wardrobe
is the button-down shirt and I personally adore a button-down.
It's such a classic piece and there's something so elegant,
so crisp and fresh about a classic white button-down worn with a pair of jeans.
Especially I think blue denim jeans is gorgeous,
you know, worn with a pair of tailored trousers.
There's just something really, really effortless about it.
I also really recommend a blue button-down.
So if you didn't want to go for white or if you already have this in your wardrobe,
I think the light blue colour is also so chic.
It looks really beautiful in spring, especially paired with tan.
Things like trench coats, a light coloured denim, a blue button-down.
I actually think that's an exact outfit that I shot last year
and I just, it's something I wear all the time.
But what I'm also going to recommend for your button-down
is to consider a denim button-down.
Now, I love a denim shirt.
If you follow me over on Instagram,
you'll see that I've been wearing and styling them a lot recently in spring
and I love them.
I do feel like they're a fun piece to layer as well,
but it might not be for you.
I know some people don't really like to do double denim.
I love it.
I think it's really fun.
I just think it's a really cool way to wear your jeans.
The very last item that I recommend in your spring capsule wardrobe
is a good blazer.
And I know I mention blazers all the time here on this channel,
but guys, they are the ultimate workhorse.
I'll never get sick of wearing them.
They always look good.
And I feel like with my blazer collection,
I tend to spend a little bit more on my blazers
because the tailoring is so important.
And when I do, I end up with pieces that I wear
over and over and over again.
My cost per wear with my blazers
is probably the best cost per wear in my whole wardrobe.
The one that I tend to wear the most in springtime,
especially in early spring,
is my And Other Stories oversized wool blazer.
You'll see me style it a million different ways,
but it's such a classic.
It's a nice kind of heavier wool,
which is great in early spring
because I tend to wear my blazers
instead of a jacket or a coat at this time of the year.
The And Other Stories wool blazer comes in at just under 200
and they do actually do discount codes for your first purchase as well.
And it's just a great quality blazer.
I have worn it so, so, so much.
And again, that lighter color is going to look gorgeous with your denims.
It just lifts everything and makes everything feel more kind of springy
and obviously moving into summer.
That is the blazer that I wear a lot in earlier spring
when I want a bit more warmth.
And then as we get into later spring,
the blazer that I tend to wear the most
is my Arquette linen blazer.
And that's a very similar color.
It's a more relaxed fit.
It's just this beautiful, creamy kind of oaty beige color.
And it just looks great with anything kind of lighter,
like lighter denims.
It just lifts everything.
And I tend to wear it a lot with creams, beiges, lighter denims, blue denims.
I would definitely say a blazer is an essential
in your spring capsule wardrobe checklist.
But you can decide what kind of blazer is going to work best for you.
