【Classical music and nature 古典音樂小站】Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Symphony No. 38 in D major 'Prague', K. 504 - II. Andante. This beautiful piece was played by Das Orchester Tsumugi. It has Creative Commons license (CC BY 3.0 DEED Attribution 3.0 Unported) and is provided through www.musopen.org.
The premiere took place on 19 January 1787 in Prague as part of an academy, one day after a performance of Figaro. Mozart was apparently so convincing as a pianist at the academy that the symphony is not even mentioned in some contemporary reports and only developed into an audience favourite over time.
Some authors point to musical connections between K. 504 and the operas Figaro and Don Giovanni.
It is unclear why Mozart did not write a minuet for the symphony.
Alfred Einstein (1953) believes that the minuet is missing because "everything has already been said" in the existing movements.
The video was captured by Simone Schlegel and edited by Wenjing Ma.
