【Classical music and nature 古典音樂小站】Johannes Brahms: Hungarian Dance no. 8 - Presto in A minor. This beautiful piece was played by Andreas Pfaul. It has common licence (Public Domain Mark 1.0 Universal), and is provided through musopen.org.

Brahms' Hungarian Dances should be considered in the context of the wider interest in folk music. While both Haydn and Boccherini frequently referenced gypsy music, it was Franz Liszt and his Hungarian Rhapsodies who inspired Brahms artistically and financially during his lifetime, despite their differences in musical philosophy. In 1850, Brahms met the Hungarian violinist Ede Reményi, accompanying him in a number of recitals over the next few years. This introduced him to 'gypsy-style' music, such as the csárdás. This would later form the basis of his most lucrative and popular compositions: the two sets of Hungarian Dances (published in 1869 and 1880).

The video was filmed by Christian Schlegel in Switzerland and edited by Wenjing Ma.
