Venus is the second planet in the inner solar system, away from our Earth. Because its size and density are similar to those of the Earth, it is also called the Earth's sister planet. However, although Venus is called our sister planet, it is completely opposite to the Earth in many ways. For example, Venus rotates in the opposite direction, a day is longer than a year, and there is no seasonal change at all. According to scientists' research, Venus may have been a planet suitable for life like the Earth, and had liquid water. But later, due to the out-of-control greenhouse effect, it became uninhabitable about a billion years ago.
