Farm and Animal Update Baby Birds and Rabbits

she's headbutting the bowl what are you doing yeah oh okay is that what we're going to do we're going to do the belly rub oh you're wet it's all wet you're all wet were you swimming in your pool is that your girlfriend tier [Laughter] yeah oh you [Music] too welcome to the 10 Acre Woods Mark here my wife Tara and uh another beautiful day a little windy the peacocks crowing crowing don't they Crow they don't Crow what is that I don't know but it ain't crowing I don't know I would call it a crow um speaking of the Pea fowl uh we have opened up the whole area here this used to be of course where the um guinea fowl the Pea fowl and the chickens wearing here uh we need to clear it out and clean it up uh we're taking this apart uh because we have to move uh our pole our uh customer owned pole it's called Uh from over there to I guess probably somewhere over here uh because our power company does not like uh it the the power meter which is in there they don't like it in around the animals so so in getting the solar hooked up uh this is part of the the thing we have to do we have to make it compliant uh and bring it over here so we're going to bring it over into this area we have to do a trench across over to there is it there it's somewhere oh yeah the end of somewhere around here yeah it was somewhere around this area uh we've closed these guys off so these are the two doors that go from the barn inside and we've moved the Pea fowl over uh uh so we've got one male in here right Tara and the other ones are over on the other side three males I didn't want them in a small space so there one inside with the female and then one here and one on the other side and then once we build the bigger area they'll all go together yeah so we're going to build a bigger area uh that will go on the other side of the trench over here we're uh we're going to take apart terra's Greenhouse uh so the greenhouse is all the baby throat H you can kind of see it right over there so uh that Greenhouse ter just hasn't been using so we're going to take it apart into four sections and put it up over here are we going to do we're going to go across the uh trench yeah okay oh yeah the part two will be over there and one so three buildings out of the greenhouse one two three making a square with this so I can put up a big Pole secure it with netting like The netting and it will be all Avery yeah so this will be Avery ay here the Tower or the pole is that Tower that's uh that's up on the uh peeking up on there so we've got our new fiber optic so don't need that anymore what babies we have babies Oh are these the uh the Ducks oh right yeah the Ducks 16 I forgot about that you can't really get a good look in there they love their little puddle need to look at them from the other side see well it's just tough to see through through here so there's 18 of them 16 yeah little fluff balls so one of our movies surprised us with a bunch of little ones we'll have to go to the other side and have a better look so that's one of the projects we're going to be doing uh so this will be an Avery area lot larger area uh I never really cared for the size of that one so it's it's a good thing things happen for a reason as Tera says uh so here you can see the other peacock here uh and uh the mama we'll have to go over and take a look at those hi Mama are you protective too there we go let's just go right in there there we go yeah they really like that shoe uh the shoe tray so these guys were when were they born midweek yesterday yesterday okay that's probably probably why I didn't see them I heard you guys talking about them for sure yeah cuz marene was here for feeding okay and we came out and they were all running around there's one one loud one squeaking I can hear y oh yeah what are you doing are you sitting on eggs yeah do you have any babies not yet you know what those the first year they've all had them in here yeah well that's AES ver is out in the middle of the yard they usually have them out yeah out in the middle of the yard and then the crow comes in and takes out all the eggs so I guess they're learning yeah we'll leave you so coming into this area here um I was talking about cuz we want to rearrange a few things and we talked about extending this building out another one so just essentially building another um roof trust system like this and then running some more boards over so that um this gets extended out to probably about there and what we want to do is move this building over uh probably probably the width hey Billy hey Billy Billy come here Billy so Billy uh if you saw the the short the real he's hiding behind hiding behind um he was uh well Tara was actually working in this area here uh taking some of the boards down and she noticed that he was um I he was coughing he was he seemed to be having a problem breathing so uh Tara went uh in the pen and went around and stuck her hand in his throat and pulled out a wad a couple wads of uh of uneaten food so um we've seen what Billy does is he holds the uh he holds the food in his mouth like hay like a rabbit would M making a nest if you've ever seen that before um I don't think I've taken a picture of them but he holds it and he pulls the center in and obviously he got it caught he didn't chew it enough so Billy yeah Billy come here do we need to put you on softer Foods m and there's the other [Laughter] ones yeah we're over here you're showing off to your girl there's no room there's no way there we go Nice Shot buddy yeah let's have a better look here let's uh open up the oh yeah he's going to turn around come on turn around show me show me what you got Shake It Up who's a pretty boy I can't turn around there things in my branches in my way yeah all right we'll let you uh Court your your girl okay kids so you're the egg eater oh do you have an egg eater you're not B did you catch catch her in action yes uh-oh maybe we separate that one well we got enough eggs but all right kids so you guys are going outside all right here let's open okay no get first yes get out of there come on Tucker around this way there you go good boy hi you're getting big you're get where are you there you are yes oh look little bunny eating the okay the bunnies or the kittens Hi how are you oh look at that uhuh that's one of the one of the little white ones oh actually no no that's not cuz yeah and the brown ears the white ones are over there so Tucker what are you doing I have no I have nothing he's like pushing right in is that a bunny is that a bunny oh what all right let's go in and have a peek oh look you got some underneath you you got some underneath you y Ste milk he says I want milk yeah oh here they go no little Zoomies okay hi there there we go so they are two three weeks old I think they're almost hitting four aren't they um well I think it was Thursday they were born okay Mark Mark look look what look oh oh it it was underneath same one was oh you can see was say come on Mama and she thumped on the ground she was like NOP no dinner for you no sneaker hi guys so yeah three three well call it three and a half weeks old so but there but there's been a couple that have been escapees I hear yeah uh so Tiana has come out and two of them have gotten out and she's had to bring them back in not sure how they're getting out probably through the bottom wires maybe jumping up in here and then going through there so all right yeah there they are oh okay bye-bye mama okay these guys are going out Carla oh she's uh she's eating the grains she's head and she's headbutting yeah she's headbutting the bowl what are you doing well that's what they do to get milk from their mom as they headbutt when they're nursing and I guess she figures the same thing works with eating grain okay all right come on Carla come on Carla no you have to do it Terra she's getting older enough yeah Carla she's not listening she's not listening to Mom Carla Carla okay the other babies and the protective Mama yes you're so protective that one is look at you yes you're very protective well that's good Mama should be protective and then Penny oh Penny's protective too she's got two little frizzles there they are there's three in total and uh who was it that you you uh had seen them yeah Tara uh had seen that little black the little black one on top of Mama on her back hey so these are the uh sarama we figure they're sarama chickens so but penny is extremely Broody and she's been that way for a number of years she's a really good Mom yeah always good to have a Broody hen okay or a Broody duck yes are you a Broody duck yeah are you going to are you going to attack me oh I'll keep my distance all right we'll leave you to it Jasper good morning oh you going to go on that side okay morning Jasper good morning time for breakfast [Applause] yeah all right taking the kids out [Applause] onx no you're staying out you're staying out come on Carla there we go [Music] Charly here we go in you go into the [Music] nursery out for another day it's supposed to rain this afterno afternoon so uh around 3:00 I think it is so what we'll do is uh which is around we have uh an open open Farm on the weekends from 11:00 to 3:00 so that works out good people can come out and see the animals and then uh we will put them in what oh Charlie yeah he assists some pooping right in front of the door yeah so we got to move it off the way Charlie oh he's in he's in looking for food I [Music] bet Charlie Charlie what are you doing you had food this morning couple hours ago yeah yeah yeah oh okay is is that what we're going to do we're going to do the belly rub oh you're wet it's all wet you're all wet were you swimming in your pool his belly's all wet he's like if I don't get any food then at least rub me oh there it is oh good boy oh you like Dad yeah he's quite the character so this is uh I fig about as big is going to be so 18 yes 18 months is usually their uh their top end and GE around there you're going out that way yes yes no enjoy your afternoon yeah go in the field I'm going to go work there's fields of green plant some grass what is it Onyx she thinks she's getting food yeah everybody when Mama comes out here it's like oh there must be food must be food this one keeps head butting my butt tank cuz she gets special food high turbo all right [Applause] hlly okay all the kids so we have uh we have three boys and they are due to be uh to be banded to be fixed uh so we're going to have to do that within the next uh the next few days anyway and it's simply uh you have an expansion Tool uh with a a band a special elastic band uh you expand it and it goes over top of their scrotum and um and that's it it's a nice simple process uh they're they don't seem to uh they don't seem to M well mind it uh what's another word it doesn't seem to bother them um they maybe walk a little funny but um hey but it's uh it's an easy way to um to fix them and you have to do it uh between 8 and 10 weeks is uh is when you want to do it if you do it too soon then um you can actually um pinch off their urinary track uh if you do it too late then it just it makes it a lot harder uh and um well it makes it harder because of course things things grow right so there's one of the boys there uh one Jazz where's Jazz I must be over here relaxing in the shade aren't we oh you've got your your little one there is that eie there Sheldon lying in the sun yeah oh look at you too yeah just relaxing hey Snow Yeah snow Billy Jean and eie for eyebrows because she has uh these big eyebrows last year we had uh the co-op Co-op Farm the farm co-op I guess it's called uh they had done a um a test of growing some uh some hay and we they donated that to us and we couldn't use it quite fast enough CU and we couldn't handle it cuz it was the big Bales uh so we actually donated to another Farm uh so he came back this year and and asked you know what do you need um for you know for helping us out last year and and uh he's learned a lot through the whole process and Tera said well some grass seed would be great so this is a um he dropped off three bags PS of this it's a blend a grassy blend pasture blend right here says it on it yeah so it's a pasture uh Manitoba uh Meadow uh bromo brome grass so there's alala there's Orchard Grass so there's a bunch of uh a blend here so what we're g to do is we're going to test this out supposed to rain tonight yeah it's supposed to rain tonight a couple years ago uh Tara had you know mentioned about the beds that were here so there was a number of uh flower beds that she made years ago you still see the flower I I dig them up for people when I see them there's like look little irishes oh yeah there you can kind of see the outline of where it went some of it has grassed in and it was just too much to weed with all of the bad so she had to just cut them down and um and and and focus on a smaller area rather than having so many bads all over so this will be a nice test to see how this Grass Grows um and Tera wants this video to kind of look back and see you know the progress so we'll touch base on the growth of this grass uh over the next few weeks and have a look and see how uh how well it does so well and like for all those like people in the you know like that are resetting their pastures and stuff like this it looks like some awesome stuff mhm yeah it's a grass blend so and it almost looks like it has some fertilizer no the blue is a alala oh is that alala yeah okay what do I know okay A little bit of a cat update haven't done that in a while uh we'll be gentle here cuz this is tier tier has been with us three years now and he Blends in nicely I think he thinks he's hiding uh so he's still a little spooked I don't think he's ever going to really come around to humans but he has his friends his cat friends and he he's quite enjoying his life I think aren't you bud yeah just don't get too close and then we have this is uh uh sorry Lucifer so this is Lucifer hi and Lucifer loves his rubbed don't you yeah there you go so he's what they call bomb proof you can pretty much do anything to this boy yeah yeah your sister not so much your sister and your mom don't like to be picked up or handled too too much they just like to be pet and here they are so we have anara and we have Ria Hi how are you girls doing yeah and they're quite often here on this so they love being pet and lots of attention just no picking up right that's the rule girls no picking up uh then oh tier's moved tier and his girlfriend Nix so tier is on the left and Nyx was the first one that we got in she's there on the right she was actually um I can't remember how many years ago it was probably about 7 years ago or so um she was brought in somebody had hog tier as a kitten in January and thrown her in the ditch so uh somebody found her in time because it was no frostbite uh so she's been with us kind of ever since and look at her so these two are the love birds it's kind of a LoveHate relationship sometimes she loves them sometimes she smacks them oh yeah aggressive cleaning oh is that your girlfriend tier yeah oh you too yeah so that's that's the two love birds uh who else do we have so we've got two four five there's four more left believe it or not oh there is Aurora so she's one of the newbies and there she goes oh he hears you uhoh run away yeah another shot but he's not too bad they'll you can walk by them yeah he's underneath okay we'll check and see if we can see arrows later cuz he's hiding uh here's our ctio so we'll go out it looks like we have Kota is out there okay the end of the house we've closed in to a catio here it is and here's kot he's the only one out here yeah you like it out here don't you buddy oh yeah you also like pets yes yes you're very needy child yeah aren't you yes so Kota actually was found a lot of them were actually found just wandering down the driveway uh Kota came in we think Kota was dumped he was the only one that was registered uh and we um got a hold of the vet cuz he's tattooed we got a hold of the vet that he was registered with and um we actually got a hold of the previous owners and it was a woman that said that was her son's cat and he's moved out and he doesn't want him anymore so did he walk 30 km uh outside the city or was he dumped because there's a big sign at the end of the driveway that says uh animal rescue right cuz we don't normally rescue cats and dogs but black cats appear to be an exception don't they Koda Kota yeah and that was his name so we got his name from the vet cuz of course he was registered right and it means Little Bear doesn't it well actually no it means friend or Ally um it is in the um Koda was in the uh animated um movie Little Bear right yeah oh and there's Ria hi Ria's very vocal aren't you because you like the pet too but see how shy she is she she's she's strange she's like you're strange aren't you she always shies away she's a very shy girl aren't you yeah you're very shy you're funny very vocal oh they're all coming out now there so that's brother and sister Lucifer and Ria hey yeah is that it we getting any more oh and there's the dogs so of course the dogs have the run out there and it looks like oh Lucifer little sunbathing hey yeah um so that's the dog run out there and of course for some reason has when they see Charlie the pig they start barking cuz there's something about pigs Right Toby where's your ball where's your ball Toby you always lose your ball don't you oh I see it it's over there yeah look for your ball yeah go get it so last week I showed you the uh the tree the the crab apple tree over there and as predicted all the flowers are gone but the uh the exciting part is the next day after I recorded So it would have been the Monday that tree was covered in bees so uh it was pollinated so that was wonderful but um yeah those trees only last uh Last In Bloom for maybe a week so I wasn't able to find zorya she's likely cuddled up somewhere uh Somewhere Out of Sight but she's uh she's actually doing really well so she comes and I sit down on my on my chair in the living room and and she jumps right up on my lap and she's right there to get cuddles so she's doing really good it's just AOS and Aurora that are the uh the scared cats uh so that is it for this video hope you enjoyed it a little update on the animals and the babies uh and uh hope to see you again take care have a wonderful week and we'll see you in the next video bye-bye [Music]
