Group Ride Vlog // KTM 1290 Super Adventure S // Brandenburg
One of the reasons I am passionate about motorcycle riding is that it brings people together. Even though I do a fair share of solo riding I enjoy the social component of riding. If you are a biker no one cares about your social status, what you do for a living or important you may be - you are just another dude or gal on a motorcycle. So when my brother asked me if I could plan and guide a group ride for his hospital colleagues I was in right away. He invited everyone who was also passionate about riding and we ended up with a well mixed group ranging all ages and riding skills. I adapted a route that I had ridden many times in some shape or form which took us north of Berlin into Brandenburg and some parts of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. After a week of bad weather we lucked out with sunshine and a 23°C forecast for the day. The group was 12 people on 10 motorcycles. Not even 10 km into the ride we came to full stop as the Autobahn was fully blocked due to a burning vehicle on the road. Once we had cleared the accident side some of us got pulled over a for a routine stop by the police for a technical check. We were most definitely keeping to the speed limit so there was nothing to worry about (and this time I had the camera turned off) I had a 280 km tour with with an extension to 320 km planned and we ended up going the long route. After the initial hick-ups this was a perfect day of relaxed riding through Brandenburg's country side. Thanks to the entire riding group for a wonderful day and my brother for organizing this day (and paying for lunch ;-) )
