ACT ITALY DAY 5 of 5 // OFFROAD MOTORCYCLE TOUR // KTM 1290 Super Adventure R / BMW R 1250 GS

We knew that bad weather would make the beginning section of the track very difficult. However, we were lucky to get through it with no issues. Our good luck soon ended with our first major technical problem - a small rock slashed Jochen's tire open to the point were it should not be fixable with standard tire puncture kits. Good thing we tried our odds as the impossible fix worked long enough to reach a motorcycle repair shop. We were met with the amazing kindness of the local Italien people to help us with fixing the tire. Thank you Barbara - thank you Giovanni from Motosprint Next in L'Aquila for fixing Jochen's tire so well and so quickly! With the unplanned stop we had to shorten the last part of day 5 but we had to make it to the offical end point of the track - the east coast beach on the Adriatic Sea. The ACT Italy is a long trip to the central part of the Italian Apennines, from the village of Bertinoro, on the Romagnole hills, up to the coasts of the wild Abruzzo by 5 stages for a 1160 km on adventure roads. Coming from the far north we travelled across the alps, through mountain ranges and valleys in sun shine and lots of rain just to get to the starting line of our journey. In May 2022 we left for a week long motorcycle off-road adventure which includes all the ups and downs such an adventure provides from the amazing scenery and beautiful rides to the bike crashes, technical failures and unfortunate injuries after bad crash.
