Elon Musk revealed Why Starship won't have an abort system...
It has been 13 years since Nasa's Space Shuttle retired, but the loss of 14 crew members in total on that spaceplane remains on the minds of the next generations of astronauts.
That is obviously a huge scar!
So when we made the next spacecraft, SpaceX's Crew Dragon Demo-2, two Nasa astronauts Bob Behnken and Doug Hurley required on Dragon was an abort system to ensure their safety.
It explains why most space vehicles today including Crew Dragon are equipped with launch escape systems, but SpaceX's Starship rocket.
So why won't Starship have an abort system even though it aims to become a high-capacity vehicle to transport humans to Mars in the future?
