
Foreign Giants Exit China en Masse, Nissan and Honda Cut Millions of Cars From Chinese Production
In recent years, amid China's prolonged economic downturn and geopolitical tensions, Sino-Japanese automotive companies have been reducing production or even exiting the Chinese market. According to Nikkei News on March 12th, Nissan plans to negotiate with its joint venture partners in China to reduce its production capacity by 30%, equivalent to an annual reduction of 500,000 vehicles. Currently, Nissan produces about 1.6 million vehicles annually in China.
