People drew a random word related to Gan Jing World’s mission from a Word Jar and wrote a poem about it! The Tucson Festival of Books was held from March 9 to 10, 2024. #sunshinestateofmindaz #kindnessiscool
What's your name?
Sikyo.
And where are you from?
Here.
From the east side.
And what's your poem about?
I love dad, Isabel, my dad, mom, my sister.
And what does family mean to you?
That I love them.
My name is Frank Toledo.
I live right here in Tucson, Arizona.
I do landscaping work.
I love to read a lot, you know, and to write.
The poem is called Trusting.
True friends can trust each other.
If they trust each other, that is true friendship.
Tell us a little bit what it means to you.
Well, if people can trust each other,
that means that they'll never, like,
look at each other, like, the right way, then.
Friendship starts with trust, you know?
But people gotta prove it, you know?
Like, by being nice to each other and good to each other,
that's when you can really trust somebody.
And I guess that's what I can say for now, you know?
