CRAZIEST SKIING MOMENTS | WSN

Those victories coming in this discipline, the downhill. Oh, the lead slipping away. Oh, and Lindsey Vaughn goes down! Into the fencing! Happened to Vaughn. Oh, she got her inside ski into the outside ski, and it just cascaded from there. Knocked the outside ski away from her. The inside ski caught. The classic splits. You can see she just leans in a little bit. The inside ski hits the outside ski, knocks it away. The inside ski then catches. The two skis diverge. Right here, you watch the inside ski. Right there, bam. That's all it takes. And you can see that right knee folding really precariously. That does not look good. Lindsey Vaughn trying to find the perfect grip and trying to chase down Tina Mazzei. Low there, but back in her tuck so well. And now has dropped back! And Vaughn over the top! And she is down heavily. Lindsey Vaughn. And look at that crash, Coop. Oh, and the landing is absolutely awful to watch. She's the only lady that will be throwing a triple in this finals, last but not least, on course. Give it up. Ashley Caldwell. Jump five. On it. Oh! Oh, so just coming in short on that. We'll make sure Ashley's okay. Once again, very strong, tough. Get down, put the landing gear down, so to speak. But we can see from this angle on our big screen as she's dropping in, she just didn't have enough air. She was looking for another about two, three, four feet of air. Went to put it down on her feet. So props to her for going for it, but that... Left footer getting really low. Just taking a too aggressive line. She's in trouble. And Ross. Oh, and into the fencing. Looked like she was going to pull it off. All kinds of trouble there. She can to shut it down. Hits the powder, though, and that's where she loses it. Ouch. And a tough fall for Lauren Ross, who's one of the toughest characters on the Women's World Cup. This is Lindsey Vonn. A long ways off from it after the first run. And that's an interesting point, that in the back of her mind, she wants that win. Oh, man. And so Lindsey Vonn is skied out on three. Injury. And here, she just gets a little bit narrow, and with this snow that has different contours, she went narrow and then went inside. And unfortunately, she was trying to push that line, like she's done in these giant slumps. Of course, they've taken out a cameraman, looks like he's a little bit straighter than some of the other women, and rotated into that turn, and down she goes. They're in that first World Cup victory in the U.S. Well, it's interesting. And look at that. Her legs got to be burning, but Schifrin is just working the skis. She will not give up on this run. Has herself an advantage, and Kayla Schifrin. A sweet 16 victory. Oh, she's down. She's down. Oh, my God, with three gates to go. All she has to do is link it up into the finish. Look at this. A little bit of a low line, but I like that. And then just a little bit too much weight on the left ski. And you'll see coming up right there, pays for it. Leans in just a little bit. Hard crash into the B netting. She'll be okay, but, you know, Vaughn's absence from the World Cup circuit has really cost her timing and rhythm and momentum. And in giant slumps, especially a course like this, it's so far across the hill, it's so technical. You really need that. She was able to put down some great skiing. She can regain it easily with some clean skiing down here. Oh! Mental error, not realizing how much direction she needed before she went over that break over. Or it could just be that she's taking some extra risks. Not happy with being 15th or so. She wants to be on the podium.
