all right boys today you join me from
the inside of our indoor skate ramp now
I put up a post on my Community page the
other day asking if you guys wanted a
video on how we built this ramp the
housing around it how much it all cost
the breakdown and how you could do
something like that for yourself so
that's what we're doing in today's video
so all that being said let's get
straight into
it all right so starting off with the
ramp I think that's the main attraction
here this was built by A1 skate ramps
the company whose logo is put here I
will disclose that we did get a bit of a
discount on the ramp I'm going to
include all the prices that you would
have to pay for someone that doesn't do
content creation for a living because
that we got a discount but it wasn't too
massive so it's still going to be fairly
affordable for you guys as well and the
best part about it is the housing was
bought full price all the way around so
that's going to be completely affordable
for you guys too now starting off with
the dimensions this thing here is 2 1/2
ft which bar mind is slightly under what
you would find at most skate parks which
makes it perfect for training on right
this thing from left to right is about
25 26 ft and we got an 8T extension
right
here now this sort of thing would
definitely run up the cost a bit to have
this extension cuz obviously the most
expensive part of building a ramp is the
wood now the whole thing north to south
east to west bear in mind we've got
super long copings as well so you can
hold the grinder on this thing for a
long
time you can get really good training
sessions in on this ramp I honestly
couldn't ask for it to be better the
only other thing that I would do if I
was going to redo the whole thing from
scratch is I would stick the coping out
a little bit further just so it's easier
to hit a blunt on but other than that
this thing is absolute perfection and
because we did such a long flat bottom
you can also put a small ledge small
rail in the bottom hit it from the side
hit it from the corner practice your
flat ground
[Music]
pla do some tricks in my opinion this is
the best of all worlds because you can
hit the flat you can hit the extension
hit the ramp you can learn so much here
so what was the cost how much is
something like this going to set you
back so if you were to go and buy
something of this size bear in mind the
majority of people aren't going to want
anything anywhere near this long or this
tall so you probably end up spending a
considerable amount less than we did but
this would cost you about £5,000 for the
whole ramp we ended up paying about
3,200 for it so we did get a good deal
on it and that's mainly because
obviously we make YouTube videos shorts
and all that and we let him put his logo
in there so that's where the discount
came from so now you're always going to
be seeing that at least for the
foreseeable future now bear in mind that
this cost doesn't include any like
treatment to make the thing waterproof
cuz we assumed we were going to have
this indoors it was originally meant to
go in one of my friend's shops but that
fell through I won't go into that in
detail but yeah so we had to paint this
with a weatherproof paint it took two
tins and that was £200 to paint the
whole things and we and one of the boys
we got to do it because obviously me and
my business partner bought the ramp so
the boys were happy to put in the manual
labor to help us out so the cost so far
is 3,400 including
the ramp the paint and everything but
you could honestly get it for about half
the price maybe like 2,000 2,500 for the
ramp if you just one shrunk it down to
about 2/3 of the width which bear in
mind would still be a perfectly
skateable ramp or or you could just
remove some of the flat bottom and you
could honestly probably cut the cost
down massively to like
£1,500 if you wanted to economize on the
size of the ramp which most people would
want to do me and my friends just like
to hit a nice grind which you can still
do on a smaller side like this but say
we cut off this extension and just had
it like this way so you hold this side
of the ramp and the extension that would
probably cost you about half the price
cuz this is at least half the material
including the extension and then if you
shrank the flat bottom honestly 1, 15002
Grand you probably get this ramp for but
the main thing that people want to know
about I think is the housing and how we
got it round which be in mind you would
save a lot of money on as well if you
were having a smaller ramp but I'm going
to talk about our experience and what we
did because this thing is massive now
let's jump outside and start from

for God's sake right in the mud anyway
as you can see this thing is a ginormous
gazebo and this cost us the whole thing
like the whole gazebo like material the
Windows Doors everything and all the
poles to build it cost us £
1,090 which for something like this like
you could live in this Beast it's made
for weddings giant events outside and
it's stormproof weatherproof rainproof
and even apparently fireproof but I
wouldn't really want to test that one
very much but like I said this thing is
massive but it wasn't quite big enough
because the size of our ramp is just as
massive and the extension is 8T tall so
we had to find a way to make this higher
than what it would be normally when it
sat down it was about 2 ft Too Short
just sitting on the ground so what we
had to do is we had to get some extra
coping rails so the ones that we
actually used for the ramp in there we
got some of those and we concreted them
into the ground now this is to assure
that it doesn't blow away in the wind it
says it wouldn't anyway but we aren't
taking any chances with something so
expensive so what we did is we got the
poles they come in 20t poles and what we
did is we bought five of them and cut
them down so they're about 6 to 7 ft
each these and they're 4T in the ground
and about 2 ft up and then what we did
is we slot the normal
poles from the gazebo in inside them to
extend the height and they've been
bolted in in multiple places so they
don't move at all and the bottom bit is
dug right into the ground a trench has
been dug concrete's been poured in so
these things are not going anywhere so
if you want to take extra precaution
make sure that you concrete your housing
into the ground because otherwise you
might be at risk especially in the UK of
losing it to a weather storm so we
definitely had to go the extra mile to
capitalize on that and the poles the
poles cost us I think they were like we
got five of them we got five of the
poles and they were about 80 each so it
cost us just under 400 for all the poles
to go around so in total adding up the
cost of the ramp and the paint That's
3,400 and then the cost of the Gazebo
that's 11 so that's 4500 the poles are
then 400 so that's 4,900 in total so
we've made this happen for just under
£5,000 now there were a few other odd
bits and buls that we needed to build it
like bolts sand discs things to like
actually cut the poles in half a lot of
our friends actually had some of the
tools already so we managed to save a
bit of money on that so if you've got
friends and you want to build something
like this if they're going to come and
use it but you're the one paying for it
you make sure they help you you would
have had to pay quite a lot if you were
to go for like someone professional to
come in from like a company and do that
for you it would have probably cost you
just as much as like the polls and stuff
like that so we manag to save money on
that I highly recommend doing that if
you've got friends that can help you and
they're intending to use the ramp like
obviously if you've just got people that
are coming in they're never going to use
the ramp pay them pay them obviously but
if they're going to use the ramp that's
payment enough so the great thing about
this one as well is the doors can pretty
much go anywhere they just have these
Zips that you've got one two here so you
can zip this thing up you can reel them
up so say in the summer it gets super
hot and maybe you don't want all the
walls up you can literally just unzip
these roll them up you've got a nice
breeze coming through and then if we
step inside not to mention by the way
we've got nice windows so if it's
raining outside and you're coming in for
a nice session you've got the rain hit
in the window it's super cozy super nice
honestly I couldn't ask for better
scenario and then like I said just a
second ago you can take these little
pings out here and roll these up to
there and then you've just got the wind
coming through the breeze the sunlight
you can have this just as like a shade
cover in the summer or you can have the
windows down and cruise through the city
in style when it's raining oh and one
thing I forgot to mention is the cost of
the concrete that we put into the ramp
we ended up using 24 bags of postcrete
postcrete is basically just like
premixed concrete bags that is
specifically made for holding posts into
the ground like lamp posts stuff like
that and I think that cost us about it
was like £8 a bag so I'll put the was it
8 * 24 let's do that let's do maths
right there quick maths I'll do it on my
head but then I might be wrong and you
guys will call me out so actually no you
won't cuz you're idiots so 8 * 24 just
joking only most of you are idiots 192
so round it up to 200 that makes the
whole cost 5100 so for £ 5,100 you get a
ginormous ramp with a big boy extension
but if you were to make this without the
discount we got for being content
creators you would be looking at paying
around 7,000 maybe like 6500 but that's
only if you want something of this size
now as I said before this is ginormous
if you made the ramp smaller you can get
a smaller gazebo but do not go any
bigger on the ramp cuz this gazebo is
the biggest you can possibly buy at
least in the UK they don't sell anything
bigger and we even had to extend the
height on it as I told you just a minute
ago so definitely don't go bigger on the
ramp but if you were to go smaller you
could get a smaller gazebo you could
probably get something like this for
half the price and if you were to try
build something out of wood around it it
would cost you so much money but get
yourself a weatherproof a stormproof
gazebo build your ramp put the Gazebo on
top of it and boom you've got an indoor
skate ramp and you are no longer subject
to the horrible UK weather and it costs
you less than the deposit of a house and
trust me it's way more
fun
