A section of PCH was shut down Monday morning following a rock slide. FOX 11's Mario Ramirez spoke to commuters stuck on the highway.
here. We're going to talk to
the sheriff's deputies here in
the county sheriff's office.
Good morning. They are still
awaiting that geologist from
Caltrans, and I'll agree with
Stew. It doesn't seem like
they're going to be opening up
this stretch of PCH anytime
soon, you could see some of the
rock slide activity here behind
me and. Sheriff's deputies with
the L. A county Sheriff's
department is still out here.
They've been redirecting
traffic away from Big Rock
Drive here on PCH, and drivers
are being told to head back to
the freeway in the other
direction. We're going to
continue to follow this
activity. We're going to keep
an eye on it. We're going to
keep an eye on it. We're
reported around midnight,
sending mud, dirt and rocks
from the hillside above,
covering both northbound and
southbound lanes of PCH at Big
Rock, forcing the closure to
Los Flores Canyon Road. Crews
here say rocks are still
actively falling. And while
there were no injuries or
damage to passing drivers,
deputies from the Lost Hill
Sheriff's station did quickly

abundance of caution. Leaving
behind a lot of people. I
was like, I'm stuck. I'm stuck
in my life and then my boss
like, Where are you? I'm like,
I'm stuck. It's ridiculous
because there's a lot of
people that go over there and
then they had to work. I'm
here from almost an hour
waiting. My boss, he want me
to around, but I got a big
break. It's no way to turn
around over here. If I have to
wait all day, I will wait here
all day. Because they said to
me, I'm stuck. I'm stuck. I'm
stuck. I'm stuck. I'm stuck. I
don't know what to do. They're
all that too much for me. And
this has happened before, with
several winter storms in the
last month, bringing heavy
rain. There's been more
frequent slide activity here
in the area. Several closures
along PCH in the last couple of
weeks and coming back out here
live. You can see some of the
hillside. Still saturated from
all that rain crews right now
say there's no estimated time
on when the stretch of PCH will
be closed. So we're waiting
for that to happen. We're
following this story live here
in Malibu. I'm Mario Ramirez
back to you. All right, Mario.
Thank you. We'll check in with
you, of course, brought the
