Yes, hello everyone, welcome to The Believer.
I am Lily Cheung.
Today's guest is Dr. Yang Wing-Yu,
the former director of the Hong Kong Evaluation Bureau and Development Department.
Hello, Dr. Yang.
Hello, Lily. Hello, everyone.
Yes, more and more Hong Kong people are emigrating,
especially families with children.
They are dragging their families to emigrate.
The number of students in Hong Kong is greatly decreasing.
Teachers are also continuously losing their jobs.
According to the Education Bureau,
the latest figures show that
6,748 teachers lost their jobs in kindergarten,
primary and secondary schools last year.
Their wages have been rising in recent years.
According to you, teachers in Hong Kong have high wages,
but they have to leave Hong Kong.
Why is this happening, Dr. Yang?
Obviously, this is not an economic problem.
My observation is that
even with such high wages,
there are still many vacancies.
No one is hiring teachers.
Every year, when schools are open,
there are not enough teachers.
So, there are no good talents in high positions.
Why is that?
It is obvious that this is not an economic problem,
but a political problem.
Since the Socialist Revolution in 2020,
especially after the National Security Law was passed,
everyone has seen that Hong Kong education has rapidly deteriorated and became political.
If you send your children to school,
what they learn is no longer an objective knowledge,
but the regime continues to use all kinds of channels,
including regular courses and value-added education,
to brainwash students.
Teachers themselves also have to carry out these dirty work.
They are not just…
In addition to busy with their usual administrative work and teaching,
they also have to do these extraordinary political work.
So, many people have no one to teach them,
especially those who teach children.
For their own safety,
many teachers just move from one class to another,
and read the text out loud.
If students ask questions,
they dare not answer.
They often say,
you think about it, you see for yourself.
In fact, is it necessary for teachers to do this?
This makes everyone feel that this job is not as sacred as it used to be,
and even very boring.
So, in fact, students leave, teachers leave,
so many positions have no one to take care of them.
In fact, there are all kinds of problems with the new recruits.
Of course, it's not that the previous teachers were very sacred and good,
and now they are all very bad.
It's definitely not like that.
But the problem is that the new recruits
have a much greater chance of facing all kinds of problems than before.
They may not have professional experience,
and recently there have been several news reports
that even some jobs that are usually very normal,
such as examinations,
will go wrong and have to be re-examined.
In fact, this is related to the results of public examinations.
These oral exams have to be re-examined.
So when they can't get a job,
there are also a lot of moral problems.
For example, recently I did an interview,
and a middle-class student from a school
told me that the new teachers
like to use bad words, like to talk about bad things
in the classroom or in the classroom,
and even led the students to complain.
In addition to dealing with a lot of problems,
in other words, the development of education over the years
has now reached a very big bottleneck,
that is, you can't hire people if you have money,
you can't support the entire education system,
and if the students sit in the classroom,
they won't get the education opportunity they deserve.
So when it develops further,
there will be a big problem with the entire education system,
and it may even collapse.
So the situation is actually…
Four years ago, we couldn't have imagined it would be so fast.
Now it has developed to such an extent.
Yes, that's right.
If the number of teachers in Hong Kong is declining,
the government will speed up the training of teachers in mainland China.
In Hong Kong schools,
the so-called socialist patriotic education
The quality of the students must be greatly reduced.
Dr. Yang
She didn't say it so openly
about socialist education.
She didn't say it to such an extent.
Her latest statement is that
when Xia Bolong just went to Hong Kong,
she said she wanted to be sure
that Hong Kong capitalism, which is a Chinese characteristic,
would not change or go away.
That is to say,
no matter how politically Hong Kong is stigmatized,
it still has to keep its last cover-up
and tell people that Hong Kong capitalism will continue to be trained.
But the problem is that the logic is already contradictory.
If it really does not change or go away,
you don't have to say anything.
It's like saying that the number of air in Hong Kong will not decrease.
There will still be fresh air.
When will you say this?
That is to say, the air in Hong Kong is no longer fresh.
It has decreased a lot compared to the past.
So when you say that Hong Kong capitalism,
which is a Chinese characteristic,
will not change,
it has already changed.
It has already confirmed what the netizens in the mainland said last year
that Hong Kong's financial center is stigmatized.
It has already become a fact.
So don't argue with her
whether Hong Kong's education is capitalism or socialism.
When you use the term capitalism,
it actually implies that Hong Kong's education
is full of ideological disputes.
At least some people have started to think
that Hong Kong's education is already heading towards socialism.
So I think this is no longer a matter of impression.
In fact, it has already come to this point.
Hong Kong's education has lost its previous self-determination.
The whole course itself is no longer from the official and civil
and mainly from the professional teachers.
It has become a joint business.
Now, many times, the Education Bureau
as the biggest manager of the course
has thrown out the draft.
Basically, it doesn't expect any changes from you.
The teachers don't dare to speak out
and tell people how much they are dissatisfied with it.
So in fact, after the course of public and private sector came out in 2021,
it basically didn't fix anything
and just put it on the ground.
If you want to do bad things, let you do it.
So the teachers and students on the front line
are now going to teach and take the exam
and learn a course that they don't like at all.
So this phenomenon is spreading more and more in Hong Kong.
It has formed, as you said earlier this year,
making people feel that this concept of socialism
will slowly infiltrate into the whole of Hong Kong's education
until it is endless.
Yes, because Western countries are also clarifying this
Sorry, Western countries are clarifying this socialist Communist Party.
And Hong Kong schools are now introducing this so-called socialism.
That is, it is not compatible with the international community.
The economy has to be decoupled. It's already very miserable, right?
Now even education has to be decoupled.
Dr. Yang
Yes, it has to be decoupled.
Because in fact, you are no longer the old,
what I call the old Hong Kong's logic and thinking.
So that led to January,
if I remember correctly, it should be January 24th.
On January 24th,
Deng Fei came to the Legislative Council to question the representatives of the Education Bureau.
Is it that DSE is not going to be recognized internationally soon?
There are 77 schools on the KMT website
that have lost their data after 2024.
In the end, although this is not a misunderstanding,
KMT works slowly and has not updated the data.
But the problem is, if you look at the current KMT website,
there are still many leaks.
That is, their data for 2024
either has not been put in,
or they used the data I found a long time ago,
or they used the data from 2012 to put it in.
There are also many, even if they have been updated,
they have not met the requirements for the public and private schools.
They are still using public and private schools, etc.
So in fact, from this leaking process,
or the West's recovery,
when they are still thinking about how to deal with it,
you will find that everyone is starting to have some thoughts about DSE.
Using another friend of ours,
Feng Yicheng, said on the KMT program,
that this year's recovery may not have much impact.
But as the DSE process progresses,
or as Hong Kong's education progresses further,
the situation abroad will not be unknown.
At that time, he said,
I will let you go to school,
but with more requirements.
For example, you will need more knowledge,
you have to pass the English exam in the West,
or at that time, you may not be able to directly enrol as an undergraduate,
you will have to study one or two more years of preparatory classes,
just like the current situation of high schools in China overseas.
In other words, will the DSE knowledge in Hong Kong
change in the future?
Will there be a possibility of depreciation?
We need to closely monitor this,
especially as the DSE process has become more political in recent years.
In my own educational platform,
I am thinking of a program that I used to like very much,
now it is called Education Like Needle.
I have already introduced it.
I will post a post about a certain DSE course,
which aims to modify the curriculum in 2024.
The purpose of the modification is to add political education content in the name of DSE.
I will post about this on March 1st.
Everyone can take a look.
In recent years, the number of Hong Kong students committing suicide has increased.
It is very regrettable.
Why does this happen?
What should parents do?
This is a bit difficult to say.
In fact, each person faces a different situation in an unfortunate event.
It's hard to say for sure.
Whether it can be brought to a political issue
or to a one-off discussion,
I think this is a bit difficult.
I think, to put it in a broader sense,
Hong Kong students have faced a lot of challenges in recent years,
both political and educational.
If you commit suicide,
you won't be so close to death because of a political issue.
If the course changes suddenly, you will change.
Anyway, for example, DSE will still give you a grade.
After the exam, they will still give you a grade.
So you won't be able to learn anything.
But if you still have the ability to pass the exam,
it's OK, you can play this game.
But the problem is that usually when people commit suicide,
there are some changes in the relationship between people.
If this statement is correct,
then there will be more room for discussion.
Because in fact, in the past few years in Hong Kong,
have you noticed that many teachers have left,
and many students have also left?
Therefore, there may be fewer teachers who know how to incite students' emotions,
or who know how to make the class more diverse.
Or some students,
teachers or students who are very close to them have also left Hong Kong.
So when they are unhappy,
there may be fewer people to talk to.
Will this make it easier and more difficult for students to express their emotions?
We have to think about this possibility.
So if this is an assumption,
and this assumption is true,
I think there is a way to consider.
I know some students who are studying in the UK.
In fact, they have been…
How to say this?
After coming to the UK,
their relationship with the local students has been established relatively slowly.
But they still keep in touch with the students in Hong Kong every day.
Every day, they still communicate like they did when they were in school in Hong Kong.
I think this should be emphasized.
That is, students in Hong Kong or students who have left Hong Kong,
can still keep in touch with their old friends.
Even if you talk on the phone for an hour or two every day,
I think it is acceptable.
Because in fact, as a transition period,
whether it is a psychological health quality guarantee or not,
it is a plan to make up for the change in personnel and interpersonal relationships.
I think this is not only for students,
but also for adults.
Because many of my friends who have left Hong Kong
will continue to communicate with people in Hong Kong on the phone.
Now, one WhatsApp, one Signal,
it's all done, right?
I think it's not a problem to communicate now.
It's not a problem.
So everyone can think about it in this direction.
This school itself,
I think it can also actively recommend students to do this.
As a new development of the curriculum,
I think this is an interesting place.
In fact, this situation is very serious.
Because only two months have passed this year,
more than 20 students have committed suicide.
I think the number of openings is still growing.
This may be a little different from the previous situation.
But I think we are also actively facing this situation.
I don't want to blame Hong Kong or the community related to Hong Kong
for a very tragic situation.
After all, it is a precaution against danger.
I think that adults or teachers should take the initiative to pay attention
or urge students to strengthen their current human relations.
When something happens,
you can talk to your friends in Hong Kong.
You can talk to people in the UK.
It doesn't matter.
Anyway, now it's really a WhatsApp, a Signal message.
You can talk for an hour, an hour and a day.
You don't have to collect money, right?
There are ways to do this.
Everyone can do it.
Yes, let's talk about this.
The Hong Kong government criticized the national security policy
for joining the process.
Hong Kong officials brainwashing education
and making teachers and students helpless.
If education is to force students to so-called patriotism,
is this education policy really good for students?
Is there a big problem with this education?
Dr. Yang
There are different classes in education
or different situations in different societies.
What we have seen so far may be some more ideal practices.
That is, it emphasizes that students are the center,
students are in charge,
and they learn what they need or are interested in.
Before 2019,
it has been constantly moving in this direction.
Everyone knows that after 2020,
there was a case of the National Security Law.
There were also many very sensational slogans,
such as, scratching the bones to cure the poison.
Scratching what bones to cure what poison?
It's just that the process or the education in Hong Kong
is not suitable for those authoritarian or Beijing people.
They say it's scratching the bones to cure the poison,
but in fact, it's putting poison in the system.
They are the operators of education,
and they do what they want to do in a fair way.
As a political force,
you can't resist this.
You have to find your own way out,
leave the system,
and find some suitable practices.
Comparatively, Hong Kong is already considered a happy place.
Imagine the Chinese mainland in the 1950s and 1960s.
They said they would change,
and they did.
They put Marxism-Leninism into the system,
and they also put class struggle into the system.
At that time, there was no way to study abroad.
In other words,
there was no exit point for students to deal with.
So at that time,
the brainwashing was already hard.
If you don't perform positively,
you won't be able to go to university.
So in Hong Kong,
if you really want to compare with China,
it's still a lot better.
Now it depends on whether we have the ability
to pay for this exit.
As a new Hong Kong education system,
if the education system is bad,
it depends on your point of view.
From a political point of view,
it can do what it wants to do.
Because it wants people's hearts to return,
and the second return.
Not only the economic aspect,
but also the political and human heart.
It at least wants you to know how to say,
I am Chinese,
I want to be famous in China,
I want to support the Communist Party,
I want to know how to sing the national anthem.
It feels that these things are natural.
As a country led by the Communist Party,
there is no reason for me to go back to Hong Kong.
I can't do these things.
It will feel that after doing these things,
you still have the freedom to learn,
the freedom to choose,
and so on.
Of course, the process has been circumvented.
It doesn't count.
But I think for any one-party authoritarian country,
if you compare it with the Nazis and the Fascists,
Hong Kong is still relatively free.
You can still have a lot of cover letters
for you to refer to,
to learn about the West.
In the 1930s,
things other than the Fascists
may have already been denounced by the political party.
Hong Kong still has a little freedom.
In this respect,
the situation in Hong Kong is not at its worst.
Of course, we don't say that we will speak out
only when the situation is at its worst.
When the situation is getting worse,
we will still speak out.
To put it simply,
there are different forms of consciousness
that are fighting in the fascist system.
Those who give money
and those who support the Communist Party
are taking the lead.
But when you have objections to this,
will the voice be suppressed?
In fact, you can still go online to read a lot of things.
You have to rely on the money
to communicate with the people you trust,
the books you want to read.
In other words,
if you want to be a supporter of the Communist Party,
you don't have to trust the government.
Although it wants to do this,
you have to find the problem
and find a way to fix it yourself.
Learn from yourself to improve in the future.
Because when the system continues to run,
it can be very certain that
the West will look down on those
who are against the DSE
and have no other input.
Therefore, everyone has to
re-exercise the traditional attitude of Hong Kong.
You have to look at this from the perspective of the Western world.
It's not just a closed Chinese culture
to review the education system.
Otherwise, if you follow this path in the future,
the space for development
may only be in the Greater Bay Area, China.
If you think this is OK,
then do it.
This is not a problem.
But if your vision is always based on the Western civilized world
as your direction,
then you have to find your own way.
So, in Hong Kong,
no one knows what you are thinking.
You don't have to tell anyone.
Once you have your own ideas,
then follow your ideas
to make a very detailed planning.
It's still OK now.
We don't know what it will be like in the next few years.
Teachers with a conscience
know that the education system of socialism
is to destroy students, to teach bad students.
Do teachers really have a conscience
and do it wholeheartedly
to implement the so-called National Security Law
to train their own students
to become the slaves of the CCP?
Dr. Yuen
I think whether teachers can do what they should do
is actually two-fold.
First, if the environment in the past
was more liberal than it is now,
teachers can use their own methods
to achieve the educational effect at any time,
to say what should be said, to do what should be done.
Now, the conditions have really deteriorated.
It means that
they can't say what's in their heart publicly.
But is it that they can't do anything?
Actually, it's not like that.
For example, it's very simple.
For example, if a student asks a question,
you can't answer it directly.
You just need to add one sentence.
It's not convenient to say, think about it yourself.
In fact, the preface
is already enough to let students know the situation.
First, Hong Kong is not free.
Second, teaching is not free.
Third, teachers are not free.
Then you have to think about it yourself.
In fact, you can express the meaning of
the white terror
with very simple words.
Since it doesn't violate the National Security Law,
it can also let students understand certain things.
In fact, this is already a teaching effect that can be done.
That is to say, when the obvious formal course
cannot be used publicly,
teachers have to use various techniques
to express what should be said
in the simplest way possible.
Because in fact, the current situation is a risk.
In school, there are a lot of slander cultures.
You don't know if it's a colleague slander
or a student slander.
In other words,
teachers should not take advantage of teaching time
to teach what should be taught.
In fact, teachers can't even take care of their own safety.
In fact, it is very dangerous to go to work now.
You don't know who will want to harm you.
So now it becomes
protecting one's own safety
has become the most important task for teachers to go to work.
This is actually quite sad.
But when you do this,
you might as well use the previous method,
use some very simple methods
to make students understand the facts.
This is actually enough.
So is it true that teachers have nothing to do?
I don't think so.
On the contrary, the demand for teachers is higher than before.
If you don't do what we said at the beginning of the program,
such low-quality things,
such as playing games at school,
talking about slander,
reading novels,
or doing other unprofessional behaviors,
there is actually room for you to do it.
So you have to ask yourself where your conscience is.
Sometimes you need to do some serious work.
For example, I know a lot of teachers
who have to sit in the classroom
and place national flags and regional flags.
This is actually a kind of
white-collar,
discoloration-protected color protection.
This must be done.
But after doing these things,
whether you choose to be a good person or a bad person,
there is actually a lot of room for you to choose.
So I won't say that I despise Hong Kong education or Hong Kong teachers.
On the contrary, I have high expectations of them.
There are also many friends who are willing to share these stories with us.
So I would like to use an advertisement
to say that everyone should pay more attention to the education needle.
In the future, there will be a lot of good stories for everyone to share.
Yes, if the socialist Communist Party is so good,
the mainland will not be criticized by the whole world like it is today.
Is it necessary to make Hong Kong be criticized by the whole world?
I don't think they will think about this in such detail.
Even the mainlanders will say something to Hong Kong
when the Hong Kong Financial Center has become like this.
Hong Kong education has to become like this.
This is also something that can be expected to happen.
So when you want to put the national security at a very high level,
you have to support all the courses,
all the subjects, including the courses that can be studied,
or even the value-added education.
If you do this, it will definitely be worse than the world.
Let me give you an example.
I just posted a post and wrote an article about one thing.
To what extent has Hong Kong's moral education fallen?
The Education Bureau will issue a textbook
and ask students to judge the crackdown on the mainlanders.
What kind of crackdown does it include?
Speaking out loud, not queuing up, and so on.
What kind of crackdown is it?
It's like when Liu Xiaoqi was in the Cultural Revolution,
he was criticized for being wrongly accused.
After the movement, you have to restore his reputation.
Hey, if these Chinese crackdown,
why should I restore my reputation?
If you have lived in Hong Kong,
you will feel the crackdown of the mainlanders.
In the future, when the free movement of 2nd and 3rd-tier cities is open,
if they are really willing to come to Hong Kong,
these things will happen without any reason.
You are not teaching students to be objective and to see these things,
and then discuss them in a positive way.
You want students, the students who are in school,
to be the judge for your 1st-tier citizens, the Chinese people.
The premise is very obvious.
As Hong Kong people, Hong Kong students,
you can't speak ill of the mainlanders.
If you see them doing bad things,
you have to cover them up and tell them the story of China.
This is the behavior of education in Hong Kong schools every day.
If Hong Kong education has been like this for more than 10 years,
in other words, after Hong Kong students graduate,
they won't know what is right and wrong.
When they see the mainlanders,
it's like when they saw the so-called British and British
who were colonized and ruled by the so-called British and British,
they used that kind of forced attitude to face them.
Should this happen?
If this happens, and foreigners know that Hong Kong is doing education like this,
what will people think of you?
So in fact, the whole behavior of education,
I think the people who design education are not thinking
whether this will affect the reputation of Hong Kong.
Instead, they say, as a new student,
the boss told me to do this,
I have to wash the students' brains.
I have to wash them in the course,
I have to wash their moral values.
This is the problem that new Hong Kongers are facing now.
They won't think about what will happen to the students in the future.
This is the political brainwashing
that they have to do every day.
Speaking of the Education Bureau,
after the school opened in September last year,
it calculated the actual number of students in primary and secondary schools in Hong Kong.
It is called the number of people.
It was found that there were fewer than one class,
and the number of people decreased by 55 classes per year.
This number is not an ordinary weight.
It is very shocking, Dr. Yang.
There is no way to be shocking.
Because in fact, you have already,
we have been talking about this for a long time,
for two hours,
you can see that the challenges that Hong Kong's education is facing now
can be said to be the same for a hundred years.
After the start of the colony,
it has never been in the past few years
that so many non-educational political elements have been infiltrated.
It is necessary to push back the effective way of doing things in the past.
We used to think it was a very bad behavior,
such as party-dominated education,
and radicalized education.
These elements were put into the education system.
Those who have a conscience,
if they can't stand it, they will leave.
If the parents don't want their children to suffer in the future,
they will leave.
Whether it is to change schools,
to change schools where they think they will have a conscience,
or to leave the system.
In fact, the number of students is not just a minority.
The situation of so many people in so many classes leaving is also very serious.
In fact, there are some parents in Rose Hill School
who sent me messages to ask for my opinion.
Should I continue to fight in Rose Hill
to ask them to take us back and not to let us leave so soon?
Or should I be obedient and go to Yuen Chun-keung's secondary school?
I asked him, why don't you consider the third option?
If you don't want to emigrate,
if you don't want to send them abroad,
why don't you consider the third option
and go to a school where you have a conscience?
Right? Hong Kong people have brains.
It's not just two choices, you have to make two choices.
You have to make other choices.
Basically, if you go to any school now,
and you say you want to close the door and apply,
I think people will consider it.
Every school has a problem with students.
If your student performance is not bad,
I think it's more likely to transfer to another school.
Right?
So in the past few years,
the mobility of teachers and students has increased a lot.
There have also been many examples.
For example, if a classmate or teacher in class 3
transfers to class 2 or class 1,
the success rate is much higher than before.
So, if there is a problem, there is a solution.
So many teachers and students who want to transfer
will take this opportunity to transfer.
So there is a phenomenon that we have seen.
Many class 3 schools are afraid of the death of their students.
Because they are the most affected part of the system.
No one knows what the result will be.
But this mobility will continue to develop.
There will be expansion to overseas.
Local schools will also have this situation.
So it's not just the problem of class 1.
The whole system has this phenomenon.
Including teachers.
I will say a few more words.
Many teachers have seen that the situation in the front line is not so ideal.
If you want to transfer, you have to go outside.
You don't have to teach, even if you transfer to another school.
Many have left the front line
to find other jobs as consultants.
Or even apply for a degree in the Education Bureau.
If you leave the front line, you will be safe.
You don't have to be scorned.
So everyone is trying to find a job
that is safer than teaching in the front line.
After all, when we go to work,
in addition to ideals, we also have to think about personal safety.
This is actually a very practical thing.
Yes, it's very practical and very dangerous.
I really didn't expect it to go this far.
Let's take a look at the situation in kindergartens.
School loss is also very serious.
The Education Bureau said that
until February 2023,
five kindergartens were closed.
In addition, after the school reopened last year,
at least four kindergartens were announced to be closed.
Including Kindergarten in Kowloon,
Kindergarten in St. Paul,
Hong Kong Education University Children's Development Center,
Kindergarten in Hong Kong Tsang Wai University,
Where are Hong Kong's students going?
Where is the future of Hong Kong, Dr. Yang?
I can't answer where Hong Kong's students are going.
But I can share with you where my students are going.
My nephew will be 7 years old this year.
He came to the UK about 3-4 years ago.
When he came here, he started to study reception.
Playgroup first.
Playgroup, then Reception,
Year 1, Year 2, and Year 3 next year.
Think about it, his learning environment here,
There are white people, Asian people, and black people.
In other words, in Hong Kong,
you have to pay thousands of dollars to study at an international school
to get into an English-speaking environment.
In fact, as long as you immigrate to the UK,
you have to do this step.
Because my opinion is that you have to immigrate.
It's just that if you lose your assets,
it's just a slightly more expensive process to move out.
When you come here, the education is free.
I didn't get it wrong when I graduated from middle school.
I don't know this information yet.
This information may be a bit inaccurate.
At least you don't have to pay tuition when you go to primary school.
Think about it, you save thousands of dollars every month.
You can already enjoy the international education environment
in Hong Kong, whether it's kindergarten or primary school.
If you think about it,
will it be better for the children to leave as soon as possible?
You don't have to be brainwashed,
and you can also enjoy the educational environment
that middle-class people dream of.
So if this situation doesn't only happen in my family,
but also happens in many families in Hong Kong,
it can explain what you just said.
The more famous kindergartens are,
the higher the rate of loss of life.
Because in fact, you have to leave anyway.
Why don't you get rid of it as soon as possible?
Don't let the children
be blinded by the brainwashing education when they go to primary school.
Go home every day, sing Hong Kong songs, sing Chinese songs.
If it happened earlier, would it be better?
If this assumption is correct,
if kindergarten is a business,
it should be a inevitable result.
At least you don't have to worry about it every day.
Because students are worried about their own safety.
Teachers also think that this place is very dangerous.
It's like a hell in mainland China.
Hell is not the big problem.
It depends on your political stance.
As far as I know,
some patriotic people don't care about this.
Just a few.
Because patriotic people are not unaware.
Because the so-called patriotic people in the 1960s are two different things.
Now basically they eat all the national tea.
If they have money, they can earn it.
But the question is, are they really willing to accept the education of the Communist Party?
I think most of them are not.
So, in fact, there are quite a lot of so-called patriotic families
who have come to the UK.
They are all of different ages.
In fact, they are actually smart.
If they see that Hong Kong is not on the right track,
they will leave as soon as possible.
They left as soon as possible.
That's right.
So, it's not just about the word patriotic.
Although not many people like the term patriotic,
but as a term with a working definition,
it can also be used.
In fact, people from different political parties
know that Hong Kong is leaving.
The problem is that people are aware of the difference between early and late.
On the contrary, as I said just now,
it is the time for men to be aware.
On the contrary, it is worse for yellow people.
Because yellow people are often middle-class people
or the lower class of middle-class people.
So they will drag on and on until the end,
and may miss some opportunities.
So, there are some things that we really need to learn from our male friends.
Especially some details in life
and their sensitivity towards the public.
Because they have been through a lot,
so there are some things that we can learn from them.
Yes, why do you think that blue people are smarter than yellow people?
They are even faster and more obedient.
Do they really see that
when they talk about patriotism in their mouth,
their feet are the most honest,
and move the fastest? Is that so?
Yes, those pro-establishment parties.
You can see that in the past few years,
they have been talking about patriotism in their mouths.
But every time during the summer vacation,
during the summer vacation of the Legislative Council,
where will they go?
Where do you think they will stop?
Japan, right?
Where will Yep Lau's show team go?
They will show in Thailand.
How often do you see Yep Lau's show team in Vietnam?
Who will watch it?
Right? So everyone understands these things.
The problem is that from a political point of view,
we won't talk much about their actions.
But in fact,
they are very sensitive to these things.
I think we should recognize their…
I don't think this is wisdom.
This is actually their way of life.
They can see it.
In fact, when they go to that place,
they know that the Communist Party is actually bad.
Saying good things in their mouths
is not the same as saying good things in their hearts.
And their…
Actually, now…
Yes.
And many of their men
have got their passports
and have been employed.
They really do a lot better than the royal family.
I won't say whether they are good or not.
Because whether they are good or not is a value judgment.
They will do it early.
Do it early.
Because in fact,
if they know that they are working for the Communist Party,
there is a risk.
And they are just working.
I don't want to say that my children are also harmed.
When the children's factor
becomes a more important consideration,
they will make some reactions.
In other words,
as a Hong Konger,
I think we should use
traditional wisdom to face some new things.
It depends on whether you think freedom is more important
or the version is more important.
In fact, there needs to be a decision.
So when there is still a decision to be made,
make a decision earlier.
Don't let yourself regret it.
Yes, Dr. Yin.
Let's see if there is any supplement.
Because the number of viewers of our live broadcast
is nearly 300.
Oh, that's good.
Thank you, Lily, for your invitation.
Let's talk about education issues.
Let's talk about all aspects of sharing.
In fact, the education issues in Hong Kong
are constantly happening.
For example, today is February 28, 2024.
When I woke up this morning,
I received a message from a friend telling me
that the budget bill was released today.
So what does it have to do with me?
Yes, it does. Why not?
DSC said that starting in 2025,
the government will no longer pay the tuition fees for you.
I said, what? Is it that serious?
That means you have to pay for your own tuition fees.
That's serious.
You have to think it through, please.
You have to pay for your own tuition fees.
It's not that you should pay me for my tuition fees.
This is your political mission.
Is it related to my business?
So now you have to pay for your own tuition fees.
Although in principle,
as a student,
paying for your own tuition fees is the second most important thing.
But the problem is,
first, you have been paying for your tuition fees for 6 years.
So what kind of services do you want me to pay for?
What kind of tuition fees do you want me to pay for?
Now it's 2025, which is next year.
In 2025 and 2019,
the education system and tuition fees
were already in full swing.
All the liberal arts have been politicized.
Not just engineering,
but also Chinese history,
and even geography
have political factors embedded in them.
Shouldn't you be paying for my tuition fees?
Right?
Now when you give me tuition fees,
I still have to run the exam for you.
Right?
So I don't know how many people think like this.
If you really think like this,
especially if you have not yet entered the DSC game,
parents, you have more factors to think about.
Do you really want to play this game?
Or,
some of our friends have already started to say that
we have to play several games at the same time.
We have to play DSC.
But outside of DSC,
some public events, including A-Level,
or IELTS,
you have to think about whether you need to play at the same time.
You have to maximize your success rate.
Don't just play DSC all the time.
So, friends and parents who are in their early middle school
may have more things to think about.
Yes.
Is there anything else to add?
Do you have any questions?
Yes.
Regarding education,
I have a lot of questions that I would like to ask Dr. Yeung.
But, we…
No problem.
Yes.
Can we discuss it again next time?
No problem.
Yes.
That's all for today's live interview.
Thank you, everyone.
Thank you, Dr. Yeung.
See you next time.
OK, bye-bye.
Bye-bye.
