FAA officially completed the Starship Flight 2 investigation! New Launching scheduled...
Great news, everyone! The FAA has just announced the close of the mishap investigation of Starship IFT-2.
One of the biggest obstacles has been solved and this is a sign that the launch estimate for the third flight right next month is coming true.
Specifically, yesterday, February 26, in its update, the FAA announced that it had completed the SpaceX-led mishap investigation with Starship IFT-02 on November 18, 2023.
The update states that SpaceX identified and the FAA accepted the proposed 17 corrective actions in the mishap report. Among them, seven corrective actions will be related to Super Heavy Booster including redesigning vehicle hardware, upgrading control system modeling, re-evaluating engine analysis based on flight data, and upgrading engine control algorithms. The remaining ten corrective actions will involve Starship's second stage, including hardware redesign, operational changes, updating flammability analysis, installing additional fire protection systems, and providing guidance and modeling updates.
