prace wykonać w ogrodzie w lutym? Jak prezentuje się kalendarz ogrodnika na ten miesiąc? Czy jest coś, co koniecznie musimy zrobić? Kiedy można ciąć krzewy ozdobne i owocowe, kiedy pryskać drzewa owocowe? Dla mnie luty, to początek intensywnych przygotowań do wiosny w ogrodzie. Przede wszystkim planowanie, projektowanie ogrodu na nadchodzący sezon i rozpoczynanie nowych zadań. A co warto zrobić w lutym w ogrodzie? Opowiadam na przykładzie swojego ogrodu :) Miłego oglądania pozdrawiam Anka
Another weekend on the plot, the weather is not very favorable, and there is a lot of work to do in our gardens in February.
I hope the film will be useful to you. Enjoy watching.
In mid-February, we start spraying fruit trees.
We spray when it's not raining and it's warm, above 5 degrees.
We spray against pests and diseases.
Against pests such as mosquitos, beetles, mosquitos and other multivariate pests,
but also against diseases.
Winter sprays are supposed to protect fruit trees, especially pests, against brown rotting of pesticide trees.
We spray apples against apricot apples, pears against apricot pears,
and peaches against thorniness of peaches leaves.
When we spray, we try to do it as accurately as we can.
We spray in such a way that the liquid flows off the twigs.
Some sprays against pests and fungal diseases can be mixed with each other.
We spray again when the buds start to sound and crack.
During a walk around the garden, we must pay attention to the so-called mummies,
which are dried fruit trees and fruit bushes.
We must get rid of this.
White tree leaves.
Protecting fruit trees from getting hot in the sun.
The weather may come that the trunk will start to heat up,
that it will start to stimulate the plant to absorb juices,
and when the frost comes, there will be frost cracks on the plant.
Unfortunately, such a tree will no longer be suitable for anything.
As you can see, I did not whitewash the trees, because there was no reason to do so this year.
But I will protect them with othulins.
I have to buy them.
Such othulins that have a bright color, i.e. reflect sunlight,
protect the shoots from heating,
but they will also protect the plants from the hares,
which are here a lot,
and unfortunately they like to bite some trees and bushes.
If we have apricot and peaches in the garden,
and they usually freeze us every year due to spring frosts,
it is worth shading them.
Or wrap them with a white film that reflects the sun.
Thanks to this, we slow down their spring growth.
And it will protect them a little from spring frosts.
If we planted some herbs or grass, generally plants in the fall,
it is worth paying attention now to whether the frost sometimes did not blow them up,
did not lift them up.
If this happened, it is enough to gently trample them.
I'm here, I'm looking at such a compost pile,
so I'll tell you a fun fact.
Here I have such a pile, where I always threw all the weeds,
and they grew a little.
And I remembered such a method of my grandmother.
She chopped all the kitchen waste in early spring,
threw it into the bins, then mixed it with the soil.
And thanks to the fact that she was throwing such unprocessed, fresh waste,
when they started to decompose, they released heat,
and all the seedlings that she later planted in such a soil moved faster,
because the soil also warmed up faster thanks to it.
I haven't done it yet, so I'm going to test it this year.
Maybe some of you have tried, tested.
I will be grateful for sharing your opinion.
This is a very good time to mix what we have in the compost bin.
Even when it's frozen.
Unfortunately, we will have to wave a little to break the top layer of the soil in the compost,
but because it's solid, there's a lot of water there,
when it starts to defrost, these fragments of compost will be well aerated and hydrated.
When mixing what we have in the compost bin, it is worth adding manure.
It's a good time for that.
It is also worth adding ash from the chimney.
Of course, wood ash.
When I get to such a soil in the compost bin that can be scattered,
I can do it now by scattering it on the pots.
I won't dig, or you can't dig the pot when it's snowing.
When we mix such soil with snow, it warms up very long when spring comes.
We don't want that.
And if we still have time and we haven't done it, we keep all the tools.
I haven't made a feeder in the garden yet, but I'll do it this year.
I used sunflowers for that.
If we feed the birds, remember not to feed them with bread or kitchen waste,
or salty bacon.
Let's just use seeds and various grains for that.
If we are just now planning to place breeding booths and feeders for birds in our garden,
to encourage them to visit our garden and support us in the fight against various pests and caterpillars,
let's find a place for them that will be protected from the wind and rain.
As you can see, I didn't cut the decorative grass.
I always leave them.
I cut them when spring comes.
Of course, we don't cut the reeds.
We just sweep them.
There are still seeds on the Patagonian verbena.
I didn't collect them.
Let them sow.
They sprout.
I'll pick the seedlings when the right time comes.
This year I bet on one-year plants.
I've already bought a lot of seeds for very interesting varieties.
And what I plan to sow, I'll show you in the next video of the Garden Series.
Soon.
When I collect seeds, I close them in a paper bag to remove moisture.
I store them in a dry place.
We don't store seeds in plastic containers or jars,
because they will start molding.
I have a question for you.
Did something happen to you that you once bought, for example, tomatoes,
which sprouted great, grew fast, healthy,
and the fruits were delicious, but you forgot what variety it is?
And what's worse, where did you buy them?
I have a solution for you.
I designed a garden planner,
thanks to which it will be easier for us to plan work in the garden,
new plantings, but also shopping related to sprays, fertilizers or tools.
In the garden planner, we will find 38 different tables of charts,
where we enter tested varieties of vegetables, plants,
ornaments that we want to buy, for example.
Thanks to these tables, we can monitor fertilization, watering, cutting of plants.
Thanks to this, in the next seasons, work will be easier, more pleasant,
because we will know what to do in the garden.
Thanks to the garden planner, we can plan all construction work more easily,
for example, walls, stairs or scaffolding.
We can write down a plan of tasks that we have to do in the garden,
attach it here on the fridge to keep an eye on it all the time
and remember what to do.
My favorite card is a bag for seeds.
Because the green planner turned out to be a huge hit and you love it,
I decided to prepare a garden planner.
It's much better than a green planner.
As you can see, the weather chased me out of the garden,
and there are still many important things that I haven't told you about,
about the works that should be done in February.
This perfect time has begun for one of my favorite garden activities,
which is cutting plants.
Let's try to cut when it's warm and sunny,
and the temperature is not below 2 degrees, below zero.
When the temperature is lower, unfortunately, there is a big risk
that the cut shoots will simply be damaged by the frost.
Let's try to cut with a clean tool,
so as not to transfer any diseases from plant to plant.
In February, it is worth cutting all the leaves from the ligustru, grabe or wiązu.
However, when it comes to decorative bushes,
we can stop cutting until the end of February or the beginning of March.
And I'm going to do that,
because I will want to root the cut fragments and twigs.
I have a lot of space in the garden to plant,
so I will want to use these cuttings to plant the garden.
I will talk about cuttings in a separate video soon.
I don't know about you, but it's been a very strong wind for me for a few days,
so when I'm in the garden, I check
if the plants that are protected against frost
do not need to be repaired or the cover has not fallen off.
I mean mainly garden hortensia.
If we have plants in pots, winter green plants,
let's check if they sometimes require watering.
As I mentioned watering, let's pay attention
to whether water has accumulated in any containers or barrels,
so that the frost does not spread it.
When the weather is friendly, you can put a spade in the ground,
then we can start transplanting plants.
After transplanting, remember to water them generously,
even when the ground is wet.
Who has warm and cold inspections?
I don't have it yet, but this year I'm going to make it up.
For cold inspections, we can sow round carrots
and such shorter, smaller varieties,
and for warm inspections, at the end of February,
we can move lettuce, spinach, and sow turnips.
If you have a vegetable market and the lower leaves have started to yellow,
despite the protection, we cut off these leaves,
but we also cut off the tip.
I haven't done it yet, because it grows quite well for me.
When we cut off the tip, it will start to branch out,
so early spring we will have a few fresh leaves
before other leafy vegetables start to appear to use.
February, winter months, as I mentioned earlier,
is the perfect time to plan the garden,
but also to prepare and collect materials
to build various decorations of small architecture in the garden.
This is also a good time, when the weather allows it,
to prepare, for example, groundwater.
In recent weeks, the weather has not been very pleasant
to visit the garden and start preparing for spring.
Besides, I went through, you know what,
and it sucked a lot of energy out of me,
but I've regained my strength and in February
we're starting to work in the garden.
It will happen.
If you are just starting to plan your vegetable garden
and you don't know where to start,
where to place it in the garden,
I encourage you to watch this video.
In the meantime, enjoy your work in the garden,
good weather, good mood,
a lot of health!
Regards!
