The Taiwan Air Force completed the first batch of 64 F-16Vs in early April 2022, and with nearly 80 refitted and 66 newly purchased F-16Vs delivered, Taiwan will have the world's largest FLEET of F-16Vs by 2026.
Back in November 2016, the U.S. Air Force signed a foreign Military sales contract with Lockheed Martin to upgrade approximately 140 F-16A/B Batch 20 aircraft in The Taiwan region to f-16V standards.The NT $110 billion upgrade program, known as the Phoenix Project, is scheduled for a series of upgrades between 2018 and 2022. The f-16V will be equipped with Northrop Grumman's AN/APG-83 active phased array radar, new mission computers, electronic warfare kits and other improved avionics, among others.And integrated new precision-guided weapons.
At the commissioning ceremony on November 18, 2021, the Taiwan Air Force specially displayed the performance and flexibility of the F-16V, including the "Cuban Figure 8" flying in the air in a figure 8 shape to demonstrate the fighter's combat power and maneuverability immediately after liftoff.The F-16V also flew upside down over the reviewing stand, demonstrating its low-altitude agility and excellent climbing power.The F-16V can also perform a "four-point roll," or roll in four directions at a rate of 60 degrees per second, demonstrating excellent maneuverability.In addition, the "9G turn" rotates at a very small turning radius, indicating that the F-16V retains the best attack posture in close dogfights;The "short field landing" also demonstrates the f-16V's ability to stop at a speed of 300 kilometers per hour at 1,500 meters.
臺灣空軍已於2022年4月初完成首批64架F-16V戰機的接裝，未來隨着近80架的改裝和新購的66架F-16V交機後，臺灣將於2026年前擁有全球最大的F-16V戰機機隊。
早在2016年11月，美國空軍與洛馬公司簽訂了對外軍售合同，將臺灣地區的約140架F-16A/B第20批次飛機升級爲F-16V標準。這項耗資1100億新臺幣的升級計劃被稱爲“鳳凰專案”，計劃在2018年至2022年之間進行系列升級，升級到F-16V後將配備諾斯羅普•格魯曼公司的AN/APG-83有源相控陣雷達、新的任務計算機、電子戰套件和其他改進的航電設備等，並集成了新型精確制導武器。
在2021年11月18日的接裝典禮上，臺灣空軍特別展示了F-16V型戰機的性能及靈活度，包括“古巴8字”在空中呈8字形飛行，來顯示戰機升空後可立即發揮的戰力及機動性；另外，F-16V也“倒飛”通過閱兵臺，展現其低空靈活度和絕佳的爬升力。F-16V還可以做到“四點滾”，也就是，以每秒60度的滾轉率向四個方向定點滾轉，展現其絕佳的操控性。此外，“9G轉彎“以極小的轉彎半徑盤旋，代表F-16V在近距離纏鬥時可保有最佳的攻擊態勢；而“短場落地”也示範了F-16V在1500公尺內可以從時速300公里急速剎停的優越性能。
