How to FIX Your Online Dating Profile: Asian Guy Glow Up!

what should you do if you're a nerdy Asian guy but a goodlooking nerdy Asian guy these guys went to Reddit for help and we're going to go through the comments what's going on everybody Welcome to a very special solo episode of the hop hop boys today we're going to be reviewing three different guys online dating profiles from Reddit they asked for help they said you know they're all self-proclaimed goodlooking nerds so let's take a look at the profiles and see what advice Reddit had to give them first off we've got this guy he says I am 26 from Japan I am looking for a white female but I have not been able to get it l through my online dating profile what is some advice that you guys have for me anyway let's go through uh his picks first off boom it looks like he's at the Japanese train station this is a pretty common scene you see in a lot of Japanese movies I feel like or iconic imagery here's the thing he kind of looks a little angry but not in a smoldering sexy way but like in a uh Angry like just a angry angry child type of way and he's kind of got a frown on his face so this is probably not the way you want to look mysterious and angry but I I know what he's going for he's trying to project some of that badassness off the rip but he just didn't you know Miss the mark right then his second one uh this is Bumble profile said just came from Japan it's my first time here to looking to explore around with someone anybody want to go to the movies tonight Joshua loves the gym okay boom then he's got this graffiti photo it's kind of cool very Urban Metropolitan maybe he could have been doing something with his hands throwing a baseball or something like that but it's not bad boom next one he's with his apparently looks like a HOA homie and they just do bicep day all day long I mean I want to say his biceps are almost too big in this photo to be honest almost too beefy but you know the guy's taller than him kind of making him look short plus the haircut in there is pretty fobby but you know it is then he's got some buff guy photos and uh yeah that's pretty much it a lot of people gave him advice off that let's take a look what Reddit uh take a look at what Reddit said here we go somebody said your first gym photo and in fact all your gym photos look heavily edited here's the thing in Japan in in Asia East Asia in particular photo enhancement compression software whether it is done by AI or done uh by you know individual sliders it's viewed as acceptable it looks he used some automatic compression software probably on a Sony phone or whatever whatever program he was using and the thing is in America in the Western World they don't really like the AI enhancements in Asia they're more okay with it I don't know somebody said I'd lose the gym photos I'd put a shirt on it's douchy here's the thing he worked hard to have that low of body fat and that big of muscles so I think he wants to show it off but there's a douchy way to show it off and a non- douchy way I wouldn't even say the way he's doing it is douchy but it just is not as cool as it could be or he's not getting as much out of it as he could be um other people said the graffiti photo is cool you got to learn how to smile he said H I don't think my smile's that cool because he has bad teeth which is kind of I'm not even going to lie there kind of a Japanese stereotype and same with British and I don't know what's going on there you know with the snaggle tooth and some people like it some people don't we got to go by Western standards when we were in the west he said he's after white females let's be honest the photos you know he's like it was a little bit too uh like everyday Slice of Life in Japan like I almost want to say if he was going to get a white woman he want needed to go to Kyoto and do that uh other than that some people said man your photos look like they're actually for grinder that's a crazy comment man um somebody said you got any other interests other than the gym I would say I agree with that in the sense that it's like you got to uh what's it called you got to uh like show some applicability with your muscles like you have the muscles what are you doing with it are you playing baseball are you doing this are you doing that are you hitting home runs are you lifting Boulders or just some sort of uh applicability in IRL that's what I would say um you know what else we got here man what kind of advice said smile my man he doesn't know how to smile but he already said he doesn't like his smile it popped up then he said uh he removed his bad photos added good photos and changing bio so he's doing a little bit better ultimately here's my thing man I'll say this if you are a Japanese fob and you're coming to America for a short stint I'm assuming some sort of job exchange language exchange academic exchange and you want to get white women you're not going to be selecting from like Caitlyn in Tri dels you know with the blonde hair who's like in the cheerleading squad doing all the Americana things more than likely yes I understand you know the Asiatic n Niche is growing especially for K-pop popes things but I would ultimately say his photos he might want to go like Ultra Japanese on one photo eating Sashimi in Kyoto and then you might want to do something hyper Americana at a football game riding a mechanical bull Morgan Wallen just something to put him at ease with like a white girl to show that he's embracing the white culture and then he also shows man he's super Japanese on another side so he's going to really like Niche it out for like the type of girl who um I don't want to say ftiz him but you know anime K Comic Con this type of thing Japan con there's so many niches obviously it depends on what city he's into because that's going to provide the sample size for that he needs anyway moving on we got this other guy he's 27 years old Asian-American also Japanese ameran interestingly enough here's his initial profile that uh he said he's deviated from so yeah obviously let's be honest he says he's the analytics engineer uh yeah this was not getting it done here's the crazy thing is in Asia or specifically like a place where they really like nerdy guys like Taiwan especially him being Japanese in Taiwan this profile could get it done in Taiwan not NE I'm not saying the same Taiwanese girls that get with ESO from mj116 I'm just saying like in Asia there's a higher proportionate volume of girls who like nerdy guys cuz they're nerd too and they could you know uh it could work but anyway in America it's not going to work for sure so he said that he shifted it uh just a couple months later boom here's his new hinge profile here he is so he went from looking like he went to from a stemma high school or a stem major in college to he looks like he's part of the business school he might be a little bit more on the infomatics or like Quant sort of like deal due diligence side you know not front office back office you know more doing the anal itics but he looks part of Beast he went from the Science school to the Beast school um here he's got this like unied out photo right here maybe some Levis I know Japanese like Levis a lot man he's got this what is this salmon Henley this kind of got the bacon neck making guas I mean I think I want to see he making joues just based off the feeling they look more like Jas than guas uh explore and adventure to places neither of of us has been it's a little Bland then he still got this nerdy photo right here boom got a little sh Otani action right here in the final one I think that that's what he should lean into honestly that sh Otani photo uh people just have that like in their mind right now through American Media so and plus you look more athletic it's getting girls thinking about your physicality somebody said you can work on a semi-serious smile I agree because he had he had a LinkedIn profile smile that's what everybody's saying it looked like he was trying to get a job or trying to get investment for his private Equity Firm or whatever whatever and it's like he needed a more sheepish raish uh you know like you know like a like a cool guy smile like a smirk or something like that but uh you know he was right there I think that he's like already there but it's just like he needed to do one more standard deviation like just like he had his initial profile and then a few months later he leveled up so he went from the stem school to the B school he needs to look like an actual fboy Banker he's still going to be going for a very specific portion of the female population but like you said you know when you're a good-look nerd you're you're not going to get the tatted up chicks already that are like abgs running around with all these I don't even want you know Street guys and stuff like that you know what I mean that's already out of consideration to be honest so you you just looking for like other chicks who also work at Google but even of the girls who want guys at Google they're comparing you to all the other software Engineers you're still going to need a little bit of edge last but not least uh we've got a 6- foot Korean guys profile here from SoCal here he is it looks kind of got I want to say some Korean fashion but it looks like All Saints he's got the Starbucks cup not a bad lead photo a little Bland but a tall good-looking dude clearly got the height here here he is with the home word bound he's got a husky it's a good dog but then he's kind of he looks like a dog too in this photo interestingly enough it looks a little cheesy a little cheesy for American women who grew up with hip-hop and rock and roll guys punk rock all this tattoo all this crazy social devant culture it this looks like a profile that would work in Asia because it looks like this third fold profile is definitely a picture from South Korea just based on like the granite and things that's my guess but you know he's got the tall Korean guy outfit in here common projects probably I'm assuming some sort of Zara you know got the gold chain on though definitely needs to put some product in his hair boom we got him Starbucks again you got the book the reason of flowers I'm assuming that's a little bit more uh you know some sort of bestseller it's not an Andrew tape book you know so it's like it's definitely more female Centric maybe here he is at a wedding with the glasses you know I could be a good groomsman showing the height that's kind of good but then blocking out his friend's face was kind of weird and then last but not least he almost kind of leaned into some Kevin wind stuff got the little gold cardier chain gold I don't know if that's custom or what that kind of chain is but he got a little ice on but it's kind of looks weird with his face it looks like he he just got told to throw on the Unico Suba cotton tea with the gold chain just to because it gets the job done anyway guys let's just get into the comments section let's see what people said somebody said hope this feedback isn't too harsh your profile's okay but you look like a NPC out in SoCal and girls are picking from a gigantic pool of guys what what what would make them want to swipe right on you somebody said man it looks like this is really more fit for Asia I could agree with that to be honest um let's see what else we got here people saying you removed the last caption it's a little corny okay what was his caption I didn't even see that um it's an okay profile for Asian countries to be in the west you need to stop smiling with leather jackets have your hair wet and look irritated and look down on the camera a little bit like a scumbag don't talk about how you are a nerd like even if you are a nerd don't mention it show do an action shot with your friends at a bar or a beach party setting maybe getting fixing a motorcycle yes I totally saw him more with like that badass motor jacket from All Saints with the uh with the zippers on it doing something with a motorcycle it doesn't even matter if you actually ride a motorcycle if you call them donor Cycles because you're scared by the medical rates you know what I mean just do it just because it's going to be cooler um ultimately yeah a lot of people were just like please try to channel something more masculine some more badass energy I think that that's the biggest takeaway I think here's the thing my ultimate takeaway from all three of these profiles is like if you have a good stem job even if you're in the business field let's say you're a Quant of course if you're in stem high level Finance whatever whatever an accountant it's like you probably come from a very prototypical East Asian family where the the teachings are more Confucian uh feudalistic almost some elements of that and things of that and you probably think that uh appearing to be socially deviant or a scoundrel or whatever like that is so bad right because that's going to drop you into a lower tier of feudal society like a bandit but in America whether it's fortunate unfortunate is what it is people like that socially deviant Bandit Vibe you know Wolverine versus Cyclops so unless you're going to be like if you're Cyclops the Cyclops type dudes that get hot Asian girls from from what I've seen are all white white guys that are kind of channel that Cyclops energy whether they fully pull it off or not that's appealing to Asian girls but because it's just supposed with the whiteness I would say if you're an Asian guy you do have to go a little bit more badass you don't have to get tattoos or violate you know your parents like deepest wishes depending on you know how traditional of a family you're from but you do have to show some sort of badassness some sort of deviating from this like hyp school boy thing like we said it could work in Asia but even in Asia for the girls with tattoos they like DJs they still want you to be badass and in America it just has that culture and that like tint to it even more whether you like it or not so anyway guys let me know what you think of uh the advice that we got from Reddit for three these three different guys my advice would just be become more badass whatever that looks like for you try to find some role models in Asian magazines I think the biggest misconception is that every guy in Asia is like uh like a Wong Le home archetype it's not true guys uh you you you see a whole range and you can even find something respectable about the guys who do channel that more badass energy I'm talking about celebrities in Asia I'm trying you know I'm trying to think of asian-americans there's a couple of them they're not as well known obviously because there's not that many famous Asian guys in America but anyway let me know what you think in the comments section below that was the advice for three different goodlook nerds and hopefully you took took something away from it and we're just here to just try to get the information out there I'm not saying this information hasn't been out there for 50 60 70 years look at James Dean or whatever he was trying to project uh but I'm saying it's like it just helpful to have more applicable relatable examples to one's own life and sometimes that's how the information actually
