The ARleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Sampson sailed through the Taiwan Strait on April 26, 2022, the US Navy said.The ANNOUNCEMENT was made by the U.S. Navy's Seventh Fleet, which called the move a "routine operation" and "consistent with international law," saying the transit "demonstrates the U.S. commitment to a free and open Indo-Pacific region."In such a tense situation between Russia and Ukraine, the provocative behavior of the United States is tantamount to adding fuel to the fire, once again arousing the hot discussion and alarm of the media from all sides.
This is not the first time a US warship has sailed through the Taiwan Strait. The USS Johnson, a guided-missile destroyer, also sailed through Taiwan on February 26 and March 17.The USS Sampson is part of the uss Abraham Lincoln, destroyer Squadron 21, 7th Fleet, and is currently operating in the Philippine Sea, according to fleet tracking by the American Naval Academy News website.It is reported that the USS Lincoln battle group and the USS Sampson departed for their scheduled deployment site on January 3, and conducted joint military exercises with the Japanese Self-Defense Force in the Sea of Japan on January 13 and 14. This is the first time in nearly five years that the US ships entered the waters between the ROK and Japan.

美國海軍稱，阿利•伯克級導彈驅逐艦“桑普森”號於2022年4月26日穿越臺灣海峽。美國海軍第七艦隊發佈以上消息並宣稱此舉是一項“常規行動”且“符合國際法”，稱其過境行爲“表明美國對自由開放的印太地區的承諾”。在俄烏局勢如此緊張的形式下，美國這一帶有挑釁的行爲無異於火上澆油，再次激起了各方媒體的熱議與警備。
這已經不是第一次有美艦過航臺灣海峽，此前美國“約翰遜”號導彈驅逐艦也曾於2月26日和3月17日過航臺灣。此次的“桑普森”號隸屬美國海軍第七艦隊第21驅逐艦中隊，主艦爲“亞伯拉罕•林肯”號航空母艦，根據美國海軍學會新聞網站對艦隊的追蹤，該戰鬥羣目前正在菲律賓海執行任務。據悉，“林肯”號航艦戰鬥羣和“桑普森”號於1月3日啓程前往預定的部署地點，本月13、14日曾與日本自衛隊在日本海聯合軍演，這是近5年來首度有美軍航艦進駐韓國與日本之間的水域。
