The Orioles Have Been SAVED

I made a video at the very beginning of January about the potential downfall the Baltimore Orioles organization could have that despite them finally winning again and having a great season it could very well collapse in a heartbeat because of their owner John Angelos who hates the idea of spending money to have a winning team an owner who also acts irrationally for literally no valid reason and suspends his play-by-play announcers for nothing it was awful and pretty obvious that these young Orioles players now part of the team's current and future core will not be there forever thanks to Angelos and how the team operates well some miracles do come true after all that I can talk about now at the very end of January there's some developing news that may change the entire course of orio's history for the better really quick about 78% of my watch time is from people who aren't subscribed so if you enjoy the video consider hitting that like button and subscribing if you haven't already as it helps reach more people across YouTube and everywhere it'll make me as happy as Orioles fans are right now with what's going on I know the Ravens just lost in a really frustrating game that could have led them to the Super Bowl but this news will definitely help a lot of them get over that the Orioles as a team had no drama last year the players were really good and the team was awesome John Angela saw all that and said enough there needs to be some negativity around our team so Jon took matters into his own hands and not only suspended the team's play-by-play announcer who everyone loves for literally nothing but also went on the record saying that the Orioles won't be able to keep their best players unless they raise ticket prices way to take away from the success your team was having just really disappointing stuff for Baltimore fans the team had been dreadful for Years yet even when they start winning winning a lot the future maybe even the near future still looks bleak but Hallelujah that has now changed John Angelos and the rest of the Angelos family which has owned the Oriol since 1993 have reportedly agreed to sell the franchise to billionaires David Rubenstein and Mike arag Getti for $1.72 billion these two men will reportedly be initially purchasing 40% of the Orioles and buy the rest after Peter and Ang Dies who is J's father seems kind of harsh hey Peter the moment you perish we are taking full control of this team enjoy it while your 94-year-old self can seems like an interesting situation but hey whatever it works I guess no the exact reason for this is because if the Oriol cell while Peter Angelus is still alive it could cost the family hundreds of millions in capital gains taxes a number that would decrease if the team is sold after his death so that tax issue has been a critical part of the family's thinking and talks with potential buyers and the reason for it being structured around Peter's death whenever that may be there's no estimated date on when the deal will close and become official but it is expected to be discussed at the owner meeting scheduled for next week in Orlando Florida a place every Orioles fan is going to want to go after this becomes official this is all so great for the Orioles right it gets better there's more Orioles and baseball Legend Cal Ripken Jr is going to be a part of the new ownership group you know one of the more likable players of all time the most available play player of all time setting a record for consecutive games played that will never be touched I mean the only controversial thing about Ripken is the conspiracy theory that he fought Kevin CER for sleeping with his wife 25 years ago yes that's a real story and rumor that made its rounds back in the day and that rumor got some traction because Ripken wasn't available to play the night of the alleged incident one that both men have denied ever since it's never been close to proven but it's still a pretty wild conspiracy that's also literally the only negative thing about Ripken if you can even call that negative necessarily the dude is a Class Act and awesome person along with being a Hall of Fame player it's incredible the Orioles ownership really went from the most Dreadful and frustrating in baseball to one of the most likable was seemingly the snap of a finger it's a good thing for baseball whenever this sort of thing happens when Steve Cohen bought the Mets that was great for baseball even if you hate the Mets you still have to acknowledge that the more owners in the game Who Care the better and with the Orioles changing leadership it's yet another win for the league and Sport as a whole of course not just for Orioles fans this doesn't guarantee anything it doesn't immediately make the Orioles winning the World Series a sure thing obviously but at least we know it can't get much worse than John Angelos without knowing too much about the new ownership I know that much we all do especially with Cal Ripken Jr in the mix that's awesome let me know what you think thank you for watching and I'll see you in the next video
