Pat Riley on charity and legacy

we're so old that we have forgotten not really but this is our 14th uh Gala and uh you know this is the uh actually the brain child of uh a lot of people over the years uh to finally get to a night like tonight where we can raise a lot of money for a lot of meting people chis obviously since we've come here over the last 28 years every year we do something very special and unique this is what's the biggest way that this event has evolved uh in terms of uh you know having a nice night in the middle of a he hectic basketball season but also kind of set hitting those goals that you're trying to hit in the Char I think loyalty uh we get the same people that come back all the time that have been long time fans and sponsors you know from that standpoint so I think the Loyalty factor and they've grown up with us we've grown up with their families now we see their children coming to these events and so uh it's it's a true heat event and I'm not just talking about the organization and and players and owners and coaches our fans and our sponsors they love it after all it's a Monday night who goes out on a Monday night so here we are Monday night in Miami thank you so much enjoy your night who uh who who chooses the musical act is that you who chooses the musical act every time is that you as a matter of fact no no we all have Ste way but it's always a little bit uh now this year's rhythm and blues last year we had boys the men and the duat project so I have a lot to do with that but it's my playlist on the walkth through and so I've got all for one after 7even uh you know 11298 degrees you know all of these people in the 9s that were the R&B and not the bo Boop kind of R&B but the real R&B is this been an emotional couple weeks I me Dwayne uh UD this all I mean you ever have time to reflect on kind of what's been created here with yeah so I'm I'm proud of uh of what uh we've done here and you always thank Mickey and mine because they are the people that started all this for all of us and uh We've grown up together as not only me working for them but us becoming very best friends and you know with what happened you know with the six numbers that have hanging that are hanging from the Raptors uh yeah I reflect on that in one way now man has time flown by and it was just like yesterday that you know Udonis was I was at his party up the Hard Rock and then we retired his number and now it's Monday and then you know Dwayne was a week ago so time's flying so everybody out there have some fun know don't get so serious about life don't be like me and be too serious have some fun
