Vandal smashes 100 car windows in spree across Vancouver

Now to a shocking vandalism spree targeting some neighborhoods in Vancouver. Someone smashed the windows of more than 100 cars over two nights. Police are now searching for the culprit. CTV's Ben Nesbitt has the story. Destruction in numbers from Marpole to Fairview. More than 100 vehicles fell victim to what police are calling a senseless vandalism spree. We believe at this point by all appearances that it's a person who simply walked along streets, side streets, main streets, indiscriminately smashing windows of parked cars. Police believe it transpired overnight between Wednesday and Thursday, but who did it and why still needs to be answered. We're investigating, we're pouring a lot of resources into it because we know it's a huge impact on and a huge inconvenience on a lot of people. VPD says it doesn't appear that whoever did this ended up stealing anything. Pure and simple indiscriminate destruction of property that's caused likely hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage. Police say investigators will be sent to the impacted neighborhoods to try and get a hold of any dash cam or CCTV footage that may be out there. If your vehicle was damaged and you haven't reported it, you're asked to do so. Ben Nesbitt, CTV News, Vancouver.
