Ancient Egyptian Tiger Nut Cakes | Recipe & Brief History

In today’s H4H video, we introduce you to tiger nuts, an ancient Egyptian crop that can date back to the 4th millennium BCE. Tiger nuts were widely used as a natural sweetener along with honey and dates in ancient Egypt. The tiger nut sweet recipe featured here is adapted from a wall painting in the tomb of Rekhmira, an Egyptian vizier in the 15th century BCE. In the video, I interpret the painting scene by scene and show you how I come up with the recipe.
