UFT Virginia Tech Use Case 2 Video

The FAA’s Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) Traffic Management (UTM) Field Test (UFT) was conducted in partnership with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and three UAS Test Sites: the Virginia Tech Mid-Atlantic Aviation Partnership (MAAP), Lone Star UAS Center of Excellence and Innovation (LSUASC), and the New York UAS Test Site (NYUASTS) at Griffiss International Airport.

The UTM Field Test validated proposed standards and evaluated new capabilities that will support beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) drone operations in the real world. Focus areas included:

• Industry services supporting UTM
• Planning and coordination in complex operating environments
• Priority status of operational intent
• Data correlation service enhancements
• Identity and access management
