Corpus Christi International (CRP) is a medium sized multi-use airport, located just west of the city of Corpus Christi, Texas. It has associated Class Charlie airspace and is surrounded by numerous Alert Areas and Military Operating Areas, where intensive student jet training takes place. When planning a trip to Corpus Christi, pilots need to familiarize themselves with the various requirements to operate in and around these areas.

1:00 - Details on the traffic mix at CRP and the airport configuration. The airport has two non-intersecting runways labeled 13-31, and 18-36. The taxiway system is straightforward, and provides access to all services and facilities located between the two runways.

1:29 - First time visitors to CRP need to pay close attention to the other airports in the vicinity. Of primary concern is the Corpus Christi Naval Air Station/Truax Field, located 12 miles southeast.

2:15 - There are numerous wind and antenna farms located in the vicinity of the airport. Close inspection of the VFR Sectional will help the pilot visualize these locations.
