welcome to my channel. Today I am going to show you some street food in Taipei that you can try in the night. Recently I received some of your DMs in instagram, questioning why should I make the video in English? Why not in bahasa, considering that the viewers are mostly are from Indonesia. First of all I’d like to thank all of you who always watch my videos. I really appreciate your suggestion and I hope I will receive more to improve my videos. Currently I am working in a team and they don’t understand Bahasa. The team helped me to make myself able to upload once in a week. In my weekdays, I am almost occupied fully with my office job so, with my current situation I am unable to edit the video fully by myself. The English talk in the video will make my team easier to edit some parts quickly without telling them the meaning of each talk. The solution is, I make bahasa subtitles as well, so you can still enjoy the video. I hope you understand. Enjoy the video.
I'm going to top up my car.
Today we're going to go for street food in Taipei.
We are going to start the journey by taking MRT from the closest MRT station.
Our first destination is a place where I have never been before.
So I have to search how to go there.
Many local people recommend this shop.
So I decided to give it a try.
We are going to a very dark street.
You see this alley is very dark.
I smell the food already.
It's so strong.
Maybe we're close to the place.
If the food smell is stinky, can you guess what's the food that we'll try?
The hint is it's very popular among locals and foreigners.
This one is the shop that we're going to go.
Let's try.
It's almost 11 p.m. in the night and we see where some people in front queuing.
The menu is all in Chinese.
If you don't understand, you can capture it and translate it manually.
The one that I want to choose today is Cui Pi Chou Dou Fu or Crispy Stinky Tofu.
Let's try.
Oh my god.
The first time I tried.
I feel it's so crispy in the outside but juicy inside.
The outside part of the tofu is very crispy and I think this is stinky enough.
For you who like the stinky tofu that is very stinky, this can be a good choice.
I think if you put the vegetable together on the tofu, the taste is more fresh.
I think it's better.
They also have the spicy sauce.
When I firstly came to Taiwan, I really don't like stinky tofu.
I think the taste is weird.
But time by time, I think after maybe around two years, I guess, I start getting to like it.
And I think this one in this shop tastes good.
After we exit from Exit 4 in Gongguan Station, then we can just go there.
And then you see there is a laking shop.
Then you turn left.
After that, you will find the shop.
The next food will be in Ningxia Yueshi or Ningxia Night Market.
This night market is open until 1 a.m. in the night.
It feels more local and they have several delicious food.
This time I ordered chi pi with lemon powder.
The price is 80 NTD because I bought two.
So it becomes 160 NTD.
The anxiety is calling me, yeah, so I gotta go.
It's on me girl, I need to get on my knees and beg you to stay with me.
I took all the women to stay with me, so I don't have to miss you.
If you search in Google about what is recommended chi pi in Taipei,
you probably will not find this shop because I'm not sure.
But I just one day randomly walked to a night market and I found this
Ningxia Night Market and I tried this chicken.
Surprisingly, after trying several chi pi in Taiwan,
and I think this is one of the best that I've ever tried.
It's hot.
If you see the meat is pretty thick.
The outside of the chicken is very crispy and then you can see the juicy part of the inside.
Yeah, this chicken is one of my very recommended chi pi in Taipei.
After eating some fried food, I feel so thirsty and I want to find some drinks in 7-Eleven.
The drink that I want to buy is the one that I often drink.
Can you guess what's that?
Yes, it's a cold sugar-free tea.
If I'm thirsty, I prefer to drink something cold and sugar-free
instead of the sweet one to kill the feeling of the thirst.
Are you familiar with this place?
Yeah, it's Ximending.
Today we will not buy boba milk tea again.
I will take you to this shop that open until 4 a.m.
First of all, we take the menu and choose the food that we want to order.
Here, every food has a label number.
So just in case if you don't know what the food in the menu looks like,
you just can see it directly in the display.
After pay, then they will give you a queuing number.
We get our carbos.
So the most favorite food that I used to order from the shop is this taro balls.
Trust me, this is so yummy.
It's soft and sticky with a crispy taste on the outer part.
They also put egg in the middle.
So good.
So yummy.
Buying one package is not going to be enough.
It's the other day already.
And today I am going to bring you to another place.
And this one is located to Longshan Temple Station.
You see, that one is exit one of the MRT Longshan Temple Station.
And then after that, we just cross here.
Then we go to that direction.
So I used to live near here.
That's why I know the area near here.
And near Longshan Temple Station, there is one night market.
And I think it's only this one.
Okay, we have arrived in the night market.
So behind me is the night market.
And we're going to try some of the food in here.
I used to live nearby here.
And sometimes I went here at that time.
I want to show you the food that I used to buy.
This is our destination.
And this one is the original taste.
So I don't put any sauce on it.
Let's try.
If you want to buy this and then they will fry for you.
So it's fresh.
And when you eat it, it's so hot.
The first impression of the taste is fish.
I like it.
I remember there is another place in Taipei.
Also in the other night market.
They sell the same food, this one, at the same shop.
But I think the price is different.
If you want to find the cheaper one,
you gotta find it in this night market near Longshan Station.
So we just went there.
And then this is the next place that we're going to.
This one is chewy.
The sauce is a little bit sweet.
But the feeling is like there's a taste of a little bit barbecue.
I'm not sure but it's a little bit sweet.
Let's try this one.
This is even more chewy.
Compared to before.
In Taiwan, we say this food as Tian Hu La.
Actually, if we translate this, it will be like tempura.
And we also have this in Indonesia.
But most of the time in Indonesia, it's fried.
So there are so many kind of shape and taste.
So I feel at the beginning, it's kind of...
Wow, it's something different.
Tempura in Taiwan is like this.
So that's all for today.
Thank you for accompanying me to have a nice street food tour in Taipei.
I will see you in the next video.
